Post your pic for all to see, therefore eliminating disappointment. No pic no communication. Nobody get's hurt, nobody looses an eye.
My experience on POF has been that most men "shop in the wrong mall." Sadly, society will never evade this practice until Hollywood stop's glamorizing male/female relationship's with TV show's like "King Of Queen's, Life According to Jim." Average looking, chubby, balding men with an attractive, slim wives. Or TV commercial's with average to below average, short, chubby, balding men with an attractive, slim, stylish woman by their side. Real life is not a TV show/commercial.
Having said that, I'm in no way implying that I'm the best catch on POF, however I make every effort to maintain a look that is current and attractive to the best of what I've got.

Last weekend I had 4 men asking for pictures on another dating site. I don't post my picture, so I emailed to all 4. (after a few days of what I thought was great conversations) I am a very good looking woman, but slightly over weight. I did not hear back from any of them and my ego took a blow. I sent a brief email to all of them asking the same question you are asking. Why did they not respond and at least say not interested. Then I heard from one of them a day later. He said he was sorry it took him so long to respond. We have been talking ever since and I have my first date with him tonight.
I guess you just have to hang in there. These guys that don't respond are dogs. They are not worthy of you. They are cowards. Even if you did get together with them they would use you and toss you out. Just be glad that you know early on. Keep trying. It should not be about looks, but personality and chemistry. The guy I am going out with tonight is not so shallow. He does not care about my pant size or bra size. He just likes what I have to say. Hang in there! Good luck.

Very shallow. Of course attraction is important. It is my right to give my picture out or not. I am attractive, but I want someone to get to know me on the inside, The guys that make it all about looks are not for me. Even with a picture, until you meet someone there is no guarantee that it will work out. I have dated every size and shape man.
I have met some great men that don't post photos. They were not "hiding" anything. The ones that don't have anything to say and just put a picture out there are the ones who are "hiding" something. The statement you made about "no longer just words" is very shallow. Good luck in your world. I choose to stay away from all that. My choice. | |

Ask any man who has dated on POF...if you send out 20 letters..not flirts mind you,but 20 actual time spent , well thought out letters of greeting , a man will be lucky if 5 women even bother to acknowledge him. The 'Read/deleted" next to a letter one took the time to write with no response can be a blow to someones ego. It's always about the visual first off...lets be honest.....we ALL like having our 'eye candy' on our arm. So please stop the male name calling.....as i said both genders are inconsiderate at times. How about making yourself more attractive? Seek either profession advice or start reading alot of fashion and beauty magazines . It does not take much. Something as simple as a new haircut,different makeup, changing your style of dress , glasses to contacts , tweezzing a few stray hairs and getting those nails and toes done , maybe a weight loss programar a gym visit or two. But the big change you have to make is your confidence . Stop thinking of yourself as average . Everyone has some special talent.
