My family, on both sides, has a long line showing we were from the Yorkshire area. Admitted, with my surname, there is good reason to believe that we had a Scandinavian input at some point, but given that the Danes etc were pretty big in those parts once, it's almost unavoidable. | |

add this one to your list then...
only a Brit uses a big ass butcher knife to cut a cheap candle that is resting on a tile counter top (slippery) to make it fit into the candle holder and then cuts the top of their finger off.....bleeding like hell...trots off to the emerg. for a stitch up. | |

the water in the cold tap is warm........
Asda sold out of ice-cream....
Oh God it too hot........
We could do with a thunderstorm..that'll clear the air

have major surgery, contract a hospital borne infection,
then get sent home with an open wound ,
only to be told that you will have to drive to the surgery to have
your dressing changed as the district nurse is too busy..
So inflaming said wound , no appologies from the hospital nor the district nurse

Posted: 6/9/2006 9:12:13 AM | i dont think the thread is ripping the country apart, rather it is poking fun at its inhabitants little eccentricities- and god knows there are plenty of them (and I do include the Welsh and Scottish contingent with thier own particular brands of insanity-you know who you are-).
Its being done in the same way that as a family member you may point out the family faults-but NO one else can-well not if they want to stay out of hospital.
I Love being english, and at the end of the day we are all part of the britpack.

We fall out and moan at one another, but, at the end of the day, we can all sit down with a drink and joke about it. We've all been abroad and seen other Brits in the pub or on the beach, and found it easy to approach them and natter about this and that. It doesn't matter which bit they are from - we all get on wherever we are. | |

i hope i am not clumped in there...i am always perfectly sane and serious in all my posts..in fact, you could say i am perfectly perfect in every way
