| Guy I met online keeps asking for money Posted: 3/31/2007 3:41:09 AM | | If you would like to PM me with the details, I will post them up on 419Eater. HE wi find a real expert who wil deal with him effectively and screw him up. Don't block his addresses or report him. It is better that these stay active so that we can inflict as much damage as possible. We can occupy his time sufficiently well so he has little time ot concentrate on real potential victims. I may even take it on myself. | |

| Guy I met online keeps asking for money Posted: 3/31/2007 3:44:45 AM | If you want proof for yourself go to romancescam.com Most of the photos the scammers use come from model sites like focusagencyhawaii.com the person in the photo is not the scammer, his photo has been stolen and used to suck in lonely people. They all end up in Nigeria with some sob story and have no-one but you to help them. Do not give him any contact details, and most certainly do not send money. Cease all contact and report him to the site administrators. These scammers are infiltrating all dating sites now so be aware. | |

| Guy I met online keeps asking for money Posted: 3/31/2007 9:40:43 AM | | some one I know here had a very similar guy asking for money because he was stuck over seas as well, he too claimed to have a PH D. We traced his IP address and it was coming from where he said he was but he could also live there or he's a computer gurru that knows how to b ounce his IP address from another computer source. (IP Adress is the 10 digit number that acts like a house address for your computer) | |

| Guy I met online keeps asking for money Posted: 3/31/2007 9:40:57 AM | 4th sentence and Nigeria pops up...... what a surprize, NOT!!! Wish the scam artists would leave world alone, especially the decent Nigerians who wouldn't think of doing this kind of crap. I have to admit though, if I ever get these kinds of strangers professing undying love for me after only seeing my picture, I have a tendency to fuk with their heads.
Just tell the poor ba$tard, that you'll be willing to be his friend and communicate with him but you're doing the christian thing by giving all your money to Jerry's kids. Watch how fast he disappears. What a world, what a world.

| Guy I met online keeps asking for money Posted: 3/31/2007 2:17:49 PM | | Another thing to remember is that these criminals have local mules. Get yourself a mail address off Googlemail or Fastnet since Hotmail and Yahoo are insecure, and use those when introducing yourself to someone until you are confident about them. Keep your details to yourself. Decent people are not insulted by you being careful and at that stage you don't have to say anything about it. Personally I am not too worried about the people on here, but some sites are definitely dodgy. It is important to be able to do your research. If you find text is dubious, cut and paste a block of it into Google and see what comes up. These people use mailers and cut and paste texts to customise for you. Watch out for those in the message headers. For the Russian scammers , look out for "The Bat" Ask yourself how it is that a simple Russian girl has access to commercial programs. The all important info is in the headers of the email, so learn how to use that info and find out where that mail really came from. The originating ISP is usually the first number you find reading up from the bottom of the header, something like "18.22.24.118". A "whois" or a search with something like "internetfrog" will soon tell you where it has come from. NEVER treat scammers as a joke, these are hardened criminals, and abduction, murder, extortion and fraud etc are part of the currency they use. | |

| Guy I met online keeps asking for money Posted: 3/31/2007 7:32:10 PM | OMG!!!! And i thought i was the only one who got IMed by men like that. Im happy to know that its not just me who receives messages like that.
My situation was a guy from a place called Lagos in Africa and he was able to get there because he was going to inherit some money from his father's company something like 10 million dollars but that he was in court fighting with the other members of the company. Well he said he needed a guarantor or a canadian citizen who has a bank account in order to receive the money. Also he said he needed $500 extra to pay for his airplane ticket home and that once he did get home he would get the money and come here to marry me.
Ya right!!!!!!! Do i look like i was just born yesterday, i dont think so. So i'll give u 3 guesses what i did with that one, and the first two guesses dont count? You got it!!!!!! I deleted his ass off my list and put him on ignore, bye bye Loser!!!!!!!!
So to the OP, pleaseeeeeee dont fall for his line that he needs the money to get home and it almost sounds like the same guy we're talking about.

| Guy I met online keeps asking for money Posted: 4/11/2007 8:20:23 PM | I don't understand how you can be chatting with someone that you never even met, no matter how long it's for, and not have the sense to realize once they start asking you for money, for whatever reason, that it's a scam???
I simply say, "sorry, can't help ya..."

| Guy I met online keeps asking for money Posted: 4/18/2007 9:12:07 AM | Can I just say I am a seasoned scam baiter. My hobby is to waste their time, screw them up,.close false and fraudulent banks, wreck fraudulent websites, sap their band width and generally mess about with them. I am not alone. One of the more successful processes was to see the Facing Africa website who I promote as a charity, and see the levels these descend to. If you are someone with a bit of a mind then search for 419 eater and join. Read the guidance, get a mentor and do some good on the internet. PM me and I will give you my 419 eater ID if I trust you. BUT PLEASE do not report the e-mail addies to the ISP's. The scammers merely set up another and you might mess up an operation going on. Incidently the goal is evidence and prosecution , and it can happen. The Nigerian authorities are very hot on the perception, and disgrace these bring to their country. |Happy scam baiting ! | |
