| If they call us women Cougars, what do they call the Men? Posted: 4/25/2009 4:18:37 PM | I always thought the attraction of cougars for younger guys was tied up with their sexual expertise from their life experience. Well it seems to me that the same thing should apply to older men and younger women. Older men have all the experience and abilities to make a young woman glow so why all the negative attitudes towards older men. Kind of shorting yourselves in the fun and games department arn't you ladies? There is no bad stigma for Cougars in fact they are admired by some other women and young men both. Why all the dirty old man crap or horny toad crap for a decent older man in a similar position? An older man that loves women is not trying to trap you or use you any more then a cougar does with men. He just wants to make you feel good and let you know that you are loved. Food for thought. If they call us women Cougars, what do they call the Men?
There was a young bull and an old bull standing on top of a hill looking at the cows.
The young bull said, "Let's run down and screw one of those cows."
The old bull said 'No son, let's walk down and screw them all."
Old bull.. | |

Because no matter how hard we try to classify every man as a "horny toad" or "horn dog" or whatever it's not going to be true for EVERY man. And if we try to classify every woman as a "cougar" or a "whore" it wont be true for every woman. So let's just call men "MEN" and woman "WOMAN" and be happy!

| If they call us women Cougars, what do they call the Men? Posted: 5/31/2009 9:47:44 AM | The word cougar is so misused around here. A cougar is actually quite a negative label for a woman. It refers to a predatorial female in her upper years who preys on young men in order to get sex or attention.
The very idea of being called one makes me nauseous.
I agree with the above poster in that naming people according to their sexual convention probably isn't a very wise idea. It unfairly slaps us into a category that is not necessarily of our own choosing.

When she gets older and more aggressive & hungry, she is called a Hyena. Then the most desperate is called a Jackal. My son told me to not allow myself to be called those names. He clubs with his buds and they are attractive men.

Posted: 5/31/2009 4:36:04 PM | I always thought that "Cougar" was actually a term to denote a woman's enduring physical beauty as she progressed through her 30's and 40's. Cougars are powerful and cunning. No, I have never used the term, and I don't plan on starting. But you have to admit, it runs circles around the awful guy nicknames.
Like "letcher."
Whenever I see a guy with a younger woman I always assume money is her motive. Whenever I see a woman with a younger man I always assume sex is his motive.

Same goes for men who date younger man. What ever happened to attraction? What ever happened to connection? What ever happen to Love? Heaven forbid Love have anything to do with it anymore.
I don't check ID's. I usually know right away whether or not the woman I am talking to has the maturity that I would be looking for in a woman. I am interested not only in the physical appeal, but more importantly what's in her heart. Can we carry on a meaningful conversation? When I walk into a room with a woman by my side, do we draw attention because we look so good together?
Why oh why do we need this ego fulfilling, labeling tags these days? That goes for both men and woman.

For every May-December romance that is successful there are thousands that just don't cut it. Especially in the older woman-younger man scenario. I am not even interested in that and you wouldn't believe the e-mails that I get from baby boys that want to get it on. They are quite open about it. My ego doesn't crave or need that kind of thing but apparently there are women that do need that. For some reason it affirms their desirability. There are men who desire the May-December. When it comes down to it, the ego is the driving factor. The conditions that make it work have to be in place right from the get go or it's a done deal. My son is seeing a wonderful natural blonde beauty who is a Grace Kelly look-alike and stands at 6' tall. She was arm candy for a 45 yr.old man for a year and then she got pregnant. He tossed her out when she wouldn't have an abortion. He said that he didn't want any kids and she broke the rules. She went through her pregnancy on her own and now has a delightful little girl who I adore. She and my son have hit it off and he says that she's the One. Men are funny about that.

"Old Man" has a "tongue-in-cheek" sound to it. Its kinda like the saying "main squeeze". Believe it or not, we men use that also. I've heard other guys say the "Old Lady" this or that. One of my friends used to say, "I have to call the old lady and tell her to get the guys out before I get home!" (He loved his wife VERY MUCH!)
There was an old joke that used to go something like:
"Once there was wine, women and songs, Now there's the "old lady", some beers and the TV".
But we love our "old ladies" very much and wouldn't have it any other way.

If they call us women Cougars, what do they call the Men? I always thought the male version of a "cougar" was "wolf." That's what we used to call attractive, horny older men in the olden days when I was young. I think it's still a good word for those men.
Both cougars and wolves are splendid creatures, but they can be scary if you're their prey when you don't want to be. It's different if you enjoy the carnality of their attention. Then it's not scary, it's a delight.

Yes i have heard of couples calling their s. o. old man or old lady. Thats not how im referring to it though. When i call him old man im teasing him because of the 14 year age difference.
