I dated a Gemini for two years which, although it didn't work out, had nothing to do with his sun sign. Now for fun, like Horselady, I'll check the compatability of signs, but I've found the results to be meaningless in reality. | |

Perhaps the only value I can find in Astrology and dating is to use the sign conflict as a justification when the relationship doesn't work out....... | |

There is something to this but it certainly doesn't govern my existence! This has been around for so long there HAS to have some truth involved I suppose...just going by my past! | |

Astrology was intended for navigators of antiquity, who stared at the heavens waiting for cryptic forbodings and to guide their ships to safety because they could be counted on for their presumed constancy. It is strange to me that the superstition predominates to this day to create some patterned order and subsequent meaning to peoples' lives. | |

Posted: 6/12/2006 6:48:11 AM | I do know that my own sun sign seems to reflect most, the type of person that I am -- and I have checked all the others in detail (if even for curiousity's sake). And I have also noticed over the years that Scorpio women and I tend to have somewhat contentious personal relationships. Not entirely sure why this is and frankly, I don't have enough interest in the subject to go looking further. But rather than run around the room waving an "I'm educated. I don't believe in that crap" flag, I prefer to think that just because I can't, personally, make any sense out of something, doesn't mean it isn't so. Because as an educated person, I also know that, by all the known laws in Physics, bumblebees shouldn't be able to fly (wings too small to support the body ... or something like that) ... and to answer the original question ... yeah, I tend to not initiate contact with women that I know have the Scorpio sun sign. Although I have Scorpio women who are good friends, to try to do anything more seems eventually doomed to failure, and yes, their sun sign has definitely affected my interest level.

Personally, I believe that the only significance to Astrology is that some people believe in it and tend to act as they think they should given a certain sign. Therefore it's more of a self fulfilling prophecy than anything else. Although it's helpful to understand it so that you can have some idea of how someone else might act if they believe in it.... | |

Posted: 7/26/2007 8:21:31 AM | I'd never paid any attention to this in the slightest until a few months ago. A woman I went out with asked me my astrological sign. I thought she was a nut, but she hit it right on with what she was telling me. After that I Googled my astrological sign and it described me about 95% right on. I look em' up now. Don't know if it would change whether I did/didn't pursue some one, but I look it up to get some insight.

People amaze me how they want to discredit astrology, numerology, religion, preferences, habits, issues, upbringing, or any other thing that can give you insight on what makes a person who they are. It' s probably because they don't know (or do know but don't like) themselves very well, and have a tendency to be blind to things that need to be changed. Or they just ignore traits altogether (good or bad) hoping that whomever they meet will do the same when it comes to them. Wishful thinking... relationships don't work well that way.
Discover what makes you...You...on all levels. Then fine tune yourself to your satisfaction. Be happy about your discoveries and when you meet someone else... remember that a little insight can save you from unnecessary raining on your parade. | |

Posted: 7/26/2007 9:01:01 AM | I go on instant "ALERT" when I know a Scorpio is in the house. Can't scientifically explain it, it just happens. I pick them out of a crowded room and off the beach. Married two.
Remember, people have discounted all sorts of phenomena through the ages that have turned out to be real.

Supposedly, CANCER, is supposed to be the best match (romantic) in the world for me (PISCES), but I have never to my knowledge ever known a Cancer man. But I read your profile, and KNEW that I would like you. There might be tons of other things that would make a Cancer-Pisces relationship incompatible, but sun sign is SOMETHING to look at. | |

However, My last two wives were both Pisces...and they way more than lived up to the warning that pisces and saggitarius should not mate!!! ha ha. So now... I do find myself shying away from any pisces??? Beyond that.... I scarcely care.

I was married to a Capricorn - totally opposite of me (I'm a Cancer) and it was so true, He was a work aholic and no emotion and I am emotion city and sensitive and empathetic with nearly everyone else . I have found over the years my horoscopes to be mainly 95% truthful and spot on. It has been uncanny at times and family and friends have said Wow are they looking over your shoulder or what? I get on so much better with Pisces, Taurus, Scorpios and other Cancers. My 2 daughters are Pisces and Taurus and most of my girlfriends are Scorpios. One place where I worked we had 5 Cancers amongst the staff and we were like 1 big family. I worked there for 22 years in the end.
If when I am looking through profiles I see Saggitarius - I think oh no that was my Dad's sign and we never got on so I don't go there. Geminis - well I have known a couple of Gemini guys and they lived up to their signs - did not want to get entangled, liked to play the field, engaging and life and soul of the party. Aries - never serious, like working and ready for anything except tidying up after themselves, does not like arguements or emotions. I steer clear of the signs that I have read will not be a match for mine or not a good match. It just helps me connect with the ones that I do get on with and that saves time and energy for the ones that matter to me. Much better to be 2 positives than a negative and a positive or 2 negatives.
