| how do you get around??? Posted: 6/21/2006 9:45:57 AM | | Usually my moutain bike or walk, just one less car in the city. Besides I live only a few miniutes from work so I can walk there. | |

| how do you get around??? Posted: 6/21/2006 1:59:33 PM | I take the 30 min bus to work and walk 45 minutes home. I get to sleep in the morning, and in the evening get a sampling of what exercise would be like. I'm shocked that I can move almost as fast as the bus.
I could drive, but why bother? Traffic and parking are horrendous, so I save the driving for when the kids are with me, for helping my folks, or for heading out of town.

| Mode of transportation? Posted: 6/25/2006 12:55:48 PM | | My transportation is also my entertainment. I have a convertible...so I drive just for fun, spend alot of time in my car. Can't even imagine a bus anymore, haven't been on one in almost 20 years. | |

| Mode of transportation? Posted: 6/25/2006 6:10:13 PM | Walking and metro transit (It takes me where life needs to go.) | |

| Mode of transportation? Posted: 7/4/2006 6:06:28 PM | | I take the bus everywhere, and I take the ferry to work, since I don't have a car. Better than paying for parking, I'd say. Everywhere else, I usually get a lift. | |

| Mode of transportation? Posted: 7/6/2006 6:34:26 AM | | Well I finally got my motorbike running and road ready last friday night, and then a piston ring broke in then engine on saturday. I was pissed. I guess I'm stuck with my truck for now.. | |

| Mode of transportation? Posted: 2/19/2009 5:26:00 AM | | Car for the most part. The transit system here isn't convenient. It just takes too long to get anywhere by bus. Unless your going downtown on a weekend afternoon. | |
|
| Mode of transportation? Posted: 2/19/2009 4:51:34 PM | I love walking in the snow, and slush!! The transit system is awesome, but sometimes its easier to just walk! I do a lot of walking with my job and I would choose to walk even if I had a car! (although a car would come in handy for grocery trips) | |

| Mode of transportation? Posted: 2/19/2009 4:54:15 PM | The transit system is awesome????????????????????
Are you kidding????
I live in and work in Dartmouth And I have to leave at 7:00 a.m. , if I wanna grab a coffee and still be to work by 8:30 If I dont grab a coffee, I need to be on 7:30 bus
If I wanna go to Dartmouth crossing- it is 3 buses each way
Both places are only about a 12 min drive
HRM's transit sytem sucks and they know it

| Mode of transportation? Posted: 2/19/2009 4:55:39 PM | yea but I live in halifax lol, the system is pretty good on this side! | |
|
| |
| Mode of transportation? Posted: 2/19/2009 5:00:07 PM | yes but if you worked in d/t halifax your commute by bus would be cut in half! I think that the trasit system needs to work on making the system work better over in dartmouth... I remember living in cole harbour and commuting around was hard | |
|
| Mode of transportation? Posted: 2/19/2009 5:13:47 PM | I can get from my place to Halifax in 20 mins by bus. So if I worked in dt Dartmouth or dt Halifax, the bus would be convenient. But it takes 1 hr+, vs a 10 minute commute.
For people living Sackville, or other suburban areas it is even worse.
|
| Mode of transportation? Posted: 2/19/2009 5:17:37 PM | Thats why they have the link buses in place to try and make it easier for people to make it to DT halifax!!!! of course since Halifax is the centre of the HRM they are making it the focal point of all improvements! | |
|
| Mode of transportation? Posted: 2/19/2009 5:27:03 PM | I never used the link. Even the regular routes on Portland will get you downtown fairly quickly. The Metrolink is pretty much empty outside of peak hours, which points to the inefficiencies at Metrotransit.
Downtown is being improved? As evidenced by what?
