| Y can i not post Posted: 12/20/2007 7:20:36 PM | In order to maintain the highest quality forums you are restricted to having no more then 2 of the last 10 posts on a thread. Since 2 of the last 10 posts are yours you can not post to this thread. This really slows down the forum. I have to wait perhaps days to reply to a response? | |

| Valentines Dance at Burnaby Firemans Club on the 16th Posted: 1/12/2008 12:44:36 PM | | You may want to email the host of that event and ask them if they possibly deleted the post. I don't see it anywhere in the thread you posted, and the event thread is still up and running. | |

| Y can i not post Posted: 2/4/2008 2:54:20 PM | | I'm just learning about the forums and very new to computers, what i have noticed is that on a couple of my friends profiles it states what forums they have attended, but it does not on mine, though i've attended i think 6? I find it interesting to see what is being said by the ones i am in contact with, so how do i go about it and how do i copy the forums i attend onto my profile? thank you | |

| Y can i not post Posted: 2/22/2008 11:54:47 AM | | Sorry to burst your bubble, mods, but my question was NOT covered here. For some reason I can respond to posts all day long, but I'm not allowed to post new ones. Why is that? | |
|
| Y can i not post Posted: 2/22/2008 12:40:48 PM |
my question was NOT covered here. Yes it was, see post #68, with the following link: Forums: Redundant Threads - Crackdown
Forum users who habitually: post redundant thread topics (above), or - billboard an agenda repeatedly, or consistantly post invalid thread topics, lose the privilege to post new threads.
This is to avoid having to permanently suspend posting privileges to users who either fail to understand the posting rules/guidelines, or just ignore them; when creating new threads.

| Y can i not post Posted: 6/4/2009 2:42:07 AM | Hi. I seem to be going round in circles looking for an answer, so I'll try here.
All my previous posts have disappeared and I can no longer post. As far as I'm aware I haven't broken any major rules, minor infractions yes! but the forum is full of those. I'm guessing I must be banned for some reason, but haven't had any notification as to why. I only really come on for the forum these days, so I'm wondering why and for how long?
Thanks

| Y can i not post Posted: 2/21/2010 1:01:47 PM | | I am only able to post answers to threads..(i've tried all the above)..But when I try to post a thread it just takes me back to the main page to the topic i was originally in . I would always back space and try clicking POST again about 3 times. No luck. Ive done this on seperate occasions for a course of a month already. And it doesnt allow me to post any threads anywhere. I dont get an error message or anything. I don't get what is going on? =( | |

Obvious fake photos and insulting people in forum postings WILL NOT get you far - suggest a read of the posted rules.

| Y can i not post Posted: 9/21/2010 9:47:26 PM | Hello there .......We have a real important matter that is ongoing in the city, and need to discuss it on an open board....it will not allow me to post a new thread though.....help!
Your history reads - Post padding, thread jacking, continuous off topic remarks, forum protest - it's a wonder you still have posting rights.

| Y can i not post Posted: 11/18/2010 10:31:22 AM | | I don't understand why, when I try to post to a thread I have 5 posts in, a thread that's 9 pages long (so far), I get a message saying I've reached the maximum number of times I can post in that thread - while another poster in the same thread has more than 2 dozen posts in another thread only 4 pages long. I could understand a message saying "Wait" or something like that, but I've never seen anywhere a limit of 5 posts to any thread. | |
|
| Y can i not post Posted: 11/18/2010 11:23:48 AM | Kari moderators can set a limit on each THREAD on how many times someone can post.
The limitation is not on YOU. It is thread based and applies to everyone in THAT THREAD only.
If you can't get your thoughts across usually in 5 posts in a single thread ya got problems.
It is usually done in threads in THIS forum section where we have a handfull of people dominating a thread. Usually saying the same thing over and over for example and we do not want to close the thread. We simply want to hear fresh voices.
Don't take it personal. It applies to everyone! If you have something you think is new info that needs posted come talk to me and we will work it out OK? I can open it up for you if you have something important you feel needs to be added.

| Y can i not post Posted: 11/18/2010 12:07:31 PM | So - basically, what you're saying is make your statement and don't expect to discuss anything anyone else has posted, right? And just maybe you can defend your statement, too, only I don't see why that should come up because theoretically no one else should be able to comment on anything other than what they've said, as well.
I'm on quite a few forums, and this is by far the oddest one. But as far as I know, it's also the only one that keeps threads archived forever, all the others dump anything beyond a given time period. Subjects and attitudes and topics of discussion do change, after all.
|
| Y can i not post Posted: 11/18/2010 12:53:55 PM | I get a message saying I've reached the maximum number of times I can post in that thread @ Kari, I had the same happen to me for the first time ever regarding the "New Meet Me" thread.
I was one of the first to post on it....msg #6.... and followed it very closely for a long time. I admit I did tend to make similar posts towards the end after the discussion turned into more about our experiences with the feature , than learning about it. (If that makes sence??)
After about the 13th page, mine and many other posts were just repeating ourselves and not briniging up anything new.
I was also disappointed when I couldn't post any more and took it personally, but now I don't after what Cowboy just said.
