note that there is no 3 day posting restriction in the help forum, however, noting your exact date and time of sign up, you should be fine elsewhere by now.

3 days from 7/10/2007 3:43:35 PM (Pacific)

Try it out

I received this reply when posting, In order to maintain the highest quality forums you are restricted to having no more then 2 of the last 10 posts on a thread.

Since 2 of the last 10 posts are yours you can not post to this thread.

BUT, when I read another forum I had noticed multiple replies from the same user, within an hours. So, my question is why could she make multiple replies, but I am restricted to two?

Um. OK, so I'm an idiot, but.....

There's and "at" sign in post 28.... several in fact. How did they get there if they are illegal characters?

Just tryin' to understand, folks, just tryin to understand!

I believe that people ho have been on these forums for a certain amount of time can enter any characters into their posts.
But if a newcomer to the site tries to enter certain characters, such as the @ sign, they can't.

I guess this is done to try to prevent new people from coming on here to spam other sites, or enter their email addresses etc.
The admin must assume that after someone's been here so long, the person must be a non-spammer who understands the rules

Before it read the 17th. Just tried to give it another try. It's upped the ante. All I did was change my name because of a scammer. That was over a week ago...
Thanks
J

You must be a member for at least 3 days until 10/19/2007 411 PM Pacific Standard Time before you can post a new thread.

All I did was change my name because of a scammer.
did you just change your name?
or
did you delete your account and make a new one?

If all you did was change your name, you'd still be able to post (unless something on this site's changed just recently?)
If you deleted your account, and made a new account: you can't post for 3 days.

Most of the reasoning for the 3 day ban was to discourage suspended forum users from returning with new accounts. Therefore the system's not going to be set up to automatically let you post, just because you had a previous profile.

I would like to post a gathering for POF. But first I need to have an idea of how many people would show up. Where can I do tis at? The gathering would be in Waukegsn, Il.

This really slows down the forum. I have to wait perhaps days to reply to a response?

You may want to email the host of that event and ask them if they possibly deleted the post. I don't see it anywhere in the thread you posted, and the event thread is still up and running.

I'm just learning about the forums and very new to computers, what i have noticed is that on a couple of my friends profiles it states what forums they have attended, but it does not on mine, though i've attended i think 6? I find it interesting to see what is being said by the ones i am in contact with, so how do i go about it and how do i copy the forums i attend onto my profile? thank you

my question was NOT covered here.

Yes it was, see post #68, with the following link:
Forums: Redundant Threads - Crackdown

Forum users who habitually: post redundant thread topics (above), or - billboard an agenda repeatedly, or consistantly post invalid thread topics, lose the privilege to post new threads.

This is to avoid having to permanently suspend posting privileges to users who either fail to understand the posting rules/guidelines, or just ignore them; when creating new threads.
