| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 7/22/2009 6:01:12 PM | LMAO.....well I went out with this guy , great guy. Nice, romantic, hillarious we clicked really well. Anyways on our first date I found that behind this so far 'perfect click' the only flaw I had was with his mouth but I just couldn't put my finger on it. I didn't want him noticing me disecting his mouth with my eyes so I tried to be discreet on this mission I had in figuring out what bugged me so much....And whatever it was he HID it well. Anyways the second date I just couldn't help my mission of trying to figure out wtf this obsession was with me and the weirdness with his mouth....anyways this guy talked so damn much that I finally figured it out during one of his longated stories.....flapping his lips I noticed they flapped a little too much and then BOOM I saw it, the flaw, the end to my obsession when all I saw was 'GUMS'....He had no upper teeth!!! WTF............ I immediately called it out and asked him 'do you have teeth'? LMAO I think my boldness startled him and he said to me "o I forgot to tell you no, not on top' then went on with his story that a few years prior he had to get major work done and decided to get them all pulled instead...yea ok. How the hell could you 'forget' to tell someone you have NO teeth when you were coming over for a BBQ, steak and corn on the cob to boot????????? Nonethelss I was faced with this great guy who was 'teethless'. I was embarassed for him....and found myself feeling embarassed at the thought of introducing him to friends, my family. Ugh it was a little stressful but since that guy I always make sure that the guy has 'Teeth' and one's that are white!!!!
So I feel for your situation but I'd ask him about them before you just dump him over it. Find out if he is considering getting them fixed or something and then decide. This guy I was with, my logic told me that it's been years and obviously he wasn't planning on fixing them....the work I would have had to invest in helping him with getting him a 'smile' (applying for different make over shows etc) would have been too demanding of me.... so I broke up with him after I saw how he ate ribs. Total turn off... I use to LOVE ribs......Urrrggg

I could not even sit and look at his mouth, and I have been out with ones with no teeth as their dentures don't fix Plese I just couldn't do it... he has to gums his food....yikes....What do you think,

| you story is a good one Posted: 7/22/2009 8:36:54 PM | | I know a person who doesn't tell people that they done have teeth is in bad taste. What else is he hiding....men really don't tell us all. It sure would be nice if they tell us that they don't have teeth... you broke up I would do that too.. | |

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 7/22/2009 8:56:04 PM | I am usually the first person to read the riot act to the shallow on these forums; but I don't think that you are shallow. I think that you should run for your life. Something about your story gave me the creeps. I am not even totally sure why- the (possible) meth teeth, and the suddenness of your friend's warning. On gut instinct, I think you should run for it!
Gavin de Becker, "The Gift of Fear" is a great read for anyone who is out there dating these days, too.

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 7/22/2009 9:55:30 PM | | So basically what there saying is if your teeth are rotten and you can't get them fixed OR if you have dentures you should just be happy alone or off yourself.......Sure is what it sounds like...lol | |

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 7/22/2009 11:39:25 PM | I wouldn't jump to any conclusions about drugs. I don't think that is fair.
Some young people have bad teeth. If their parents didn't teach them proper oral hygiene when they were growing up, a lot of damage could have been done. With no money to fix the problems, the problems show.
That said, I find a nice smile attractive, and bad teeth are unattractive to me. I wouldn't date somebody without sexual attraction.

if you have dentures you should just be happy alone or off yourself.
Actually, a person with very bad teeth might want to consider getting them all pulled and getting dentures. That's cheaper in the long run and can avert some of the health issues found with rotting or poorly aligned natural teeth. I dated a girl once who had a partial plate. She had good oral hygiene and took care of her partial.
Bad teeth aren't going to cut it under any scenario. It's a major problem and there's no getting around that.

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 7/31/2009 9:22:55 AM | I'll admit to having horrible, horrible teeth. My parents never really enforced hygiene on me when I was younger, ah well. I hate just about any toothpaste with a minty flavor as it is, but that hasn't stopped me from being in a relationship with someone who has much better teeth. I never show my teeth when I smile anyway. I fear an apocalypse would be in order if I executed such an action. | |

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 7/31/2009 12:20:27 PM | There's a fine line between being picky and being shallow. You probably feel guilty because his bad teeth is the only thing holding you back. At the same time, I would be concerned about his personal hygene. Personally, I've dated guys with bad or missing teeth (easy to get over), but actual ROT automatically makes me think of gum disease and poor personal hygene.
If its that big of a turn off, you're best off moving onto the next. As harsh as it sounds, its hard to imagine dating someone you'd be disgusted to kiss.

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 10/16/2009 9:53:14 PM | | My 2nd ever girlfriend was a great girl with bad / horrible teeth. I got her brushing, and thanks to me 10 years later she has average teeth instead of bad. She's a smoker (still) that would never brush her nasty teeth after smoking (or anything else), before I forced her. | |
