lets consider my "horror"scope for today

Do you think the Zodiac information was right or wrong.
It's not a simple matter of right or wrong. Now lets look at the math, and lets say for the sake of argument that there's an equal distribution of births for every month. 6 billion people on this little rock, divi' that by 12 and you get what, umm.... lets see , carry the 4, ... umm what's that? 500 million ...
So I'm pretty sure a few people out of this lot will fit the mold of their astrological sign, and even fit the little quip of the day .... note how all these "astrological" writings are sprinkled with "mays", "perhaps", "coulds" ... just a lot of thinly veiled coincidences and power of suggestion ......... I doubt very highly that because Uranus .... (bad planet to pick, lol) was in my 53rd house at a particular time, in conjunction with a lot of other little cosmic burps and fa*ts, caused me to be the sensitive, and ohhhh so sarcastically cynical, nice guy that I am .... 
PS, i fit mine to a T ........ do I let the fortune cookie sayings guide me?.... nahhhh ... just a source of amusement .... | |

I am a Taurus but my moon and rising signs are Aquarius so that makes me a pretty strange Taurus - got to hug a tree for my soul but first I need to decorate it!! My son is an astrologer in Key West and Asheville, NC and I had to learn a few things to keep up with him. LOL | |

Posted: 3/24/2005 11:44:59 AM | I don't follow the signs or planets. I am a Leo and I usually know whom I have dated as far as what sign they are. Just something I do with out thinking on it. I have found the same sign has given me the most as far as matching me both physically and emotionally. This is not to say the other signs have not played a close base touching approach in there.
Oh by the way bus dating twins can be a rather touchy thing if the other one doesn't know that you are dating the other sister or brother. Been there and done it with a couple of ladies but I got smart and told them I was dating the other before I did so. My sister on the other hand had dated a couple of guys and failed to tell them causing a lot of problems. I did find that they thought a like and lord they even reacted alike. (LOL) Oh and both were libras' | |

I got this system now which I found very interesting it tells me how far the relation ship can go and it is accurate for me, am willing to help members if they let me know their birthday/time of birth/location and I can tell them every thing about them self’s and their future encounters and how long they can stay together. Posted: 6/30/2005 2:49:31 AM | This is an intersesting topic but lets consider a few things. Do you really beleive that you are an airies, scorpian, or leo etc ? You can't be !!! Look at the months of the year, take october for example, oct means 8 and yet it is the 10th month, sept means 7 and yet it is the 9th month and dec obviously means 10 not the 12th month as it is on our calender.
Different months have been put in by various people over the years ie julius ceasar added july, so even if you think that you fit a particular star sign chances are that you are not that one. It does make good reading though sometimes and I'm sorry to burst beleivers bubbles. | |

Posted: 7/4/2005 5:37:25 PM | I am a Scorpio born smack on the Libra cusp. Very intense, passionaite and I know what I want- ya, I can be a bit stubborn too. I find that I was a true Scorio as a teenager- Impatient and allways right. As I got older, the Libra must have kicked in- I am more patient ( I hope), not as stubborn, and only sometimes right!
My ideal match should be Pices- no thanks, I married one, was engaged to one, my dad and grandfather and ex boss were all Pices. To me, Pices = control freaks.You can't mix that with a Scorpio. Now don't yell at me- It does not mean all Pices are bad- I just have not had a good experience with a male Pices. ( Female Pices are good friends)! | |

I don't do well with Scorpio males AT all.
I tend to be extremely attracted to them though
and can be very good friends with them
and even have an incredible sexual relationship with them
but to be serious with one.... well... just doesn't work.
Now other than this little problem I have
I absolutley LOVE Scorpio men...
Most every man I have dated has been a Scorpio...
H*ell I even married one. yeah... go figure...

I don't "live" by the signs, but I did study it for a while and along with life experiences know what I definately won't get along with (dependant on rising sign for those on the fringe).
Speaking from a Capricorn perspective, as much as I admire Aries and work with them for short periods of time, it soon becomes battle of wills and warfare. Leos are always immediately attractive but don't survive in the long haul usually for an inability to lavish the kind of attention they seem to like whilst making sense of the many whimsical ways about them. Probably is the same as the Leo/Scorpio attraction. I could go on but that would probably get a little boring.
At any rate, I think that there are in fact "trends" that do follow the signs and I do take that into account. | |

She also told me my ex would eventually be my ex, lol, 10 years later she was dead on again. My sun, moon and rising sun are all in pisces. And to the lady above... no I am not a control freak, never have been. You should really look at the persons moon to see what they are like, that is their inner persona, the sun is your outer persona, having said that, there are so many little things to take into concideration when looking into a persons zodiac sign that if you are serious about it you need a professional opinion. I was told that a woman with her sun and moon in cancer would be my perfect mate, but i have not yet found her, lol. I am not holding my breath waiting. In the meantime I'll try any sign that wants to give it a shot. | |

Posted: 11/20/2005 7:20:17 PM | for many years, i never thought much about it. although, i did know that i fit my sign almost to a "t" - - i am a taurus. but i fit my sign with a positive twist to it!! then after some failed relationships, including my marriage, i took a closer look at the zodiac signs. even my daughter, one day, after reading up on the subject, said to me, "mom, you and dad are not supposed to be compatible.....how did you manage to stay together for 10 years..." i looked at her and said, "good question!" even when i look at my really good friendships, with both men and women, i find that my greatest friendships are those that have zodiac signs that are compatible with mine!
so, my conclusion is that there must be some truth to it all....i never overlook it any more, that is for sure!!! | |

however,true astrology is about cycles; if you have an old style clock or watch with hands rather than digitals then you would realise that by observing the position of the hands on the dial and also the angle between the hands you will be able to know whether the it is day or night, or whether the sun is rising or setting without having to look through the window to see outside. the hands on the clock or watch does not cause the sun to rise or to set but simply indicate the status of the sun in relation to the earth at that moment when an enquirer looks at the clock.
if nights are typically cold and daytimes are typically hot, then a person of ordinary intelligence can use his watch to warn a person of the need to wear warm clothing at a time when the hands on the watch indicate night time. however a person can ignore the advice to wear warm clothing at the time when the watch indicates night time and that person may suffer from no adverse effect due to the cold temperature outside or he may suffer from acute hypothermia. Either way the hands on the clock or watch was not the cause but rather an indicator of outside influences including the outside temperature that could potentially harm him
true astrology is similar: the sky is like the dial or face on a clock; the planets are like the hands on the clock. different planets have differents cycyes; for example jupiter the plan of good luck has a 12 years cycle. saturn the planet of responsibility has a 29 years cycle. each planet is in harmony with an intangible principle. each person is also dominated by one of those intangible principes.
therefore by noting certain planetary facts in relation to a person it is possible to predict what events or relationships will be stressful and what other events or relationships will be easy. if for example a relationship is likely to be stressful then it is more likely to end in divorce than one which is less so because humans tend to discard stressful circumstances.
that is what real astrology is about;studying the interaction between principles. it works. | |

Posted: 1/5/2008 2:54:11 AM | Okay. I have a question with regards to astrology that has stumped every astrology expert I have asked:
Suppose someone is conceived on - say - August 1. This would make their due date somewhere around May 1, making them a Taurus. Now, suppose that due to some complication, an emergency c-section is performed and the child is delivered prematurely on April 1. Does this make the child an Aries or a Taurus? In other words, does astrology say that, due to the premature birth, the childs personality is automatically changed?
With regards to a previous posters discussion of probabilities of finding similarities, I am reminded of a Monty Python sketch where two women (Terry Jones and Michael Palin I think) are reading the paper and discussing there Zodiac signs:
Woman 1: "So what's your star sign then?"
Woman 2: "Derry and Thoms"
Woman 1: "There's no such star sign as Derry and Thoms"
Woman 2: "Yes there is, it's right between Basil and Gemini"
Woman 1: "So, what's it say then?"
Woman 2: "You are a green scaley creature with horned plates running up and down your back, and you wear spectacles"

Posted: 1/5/2008 3:06:04 AM | Further to msg 26, I recall a program about a debunker named "The Amazing Randy" (Canadian actually). Besides astrology, he debunks a lot of other beliefs - i.e. psychic healing.
Anyway, he was in a college classroom and and had placed overturned papers on each students desk. He told the students that these papers contained their own personal astrological profiles and then instructed them to turn the papers over, read the profile, and to raise their hands if the profile matched their personality. Every student read their profile and raised their hands. He then instructed the students to pass the papers back to the student behind them and asked them the same question. Again, each student raised their hand.
The point being is that the profiles were so general, and contained such broad positive characteristics that everyone believes or wishes they have, that they agreed with the profiles. | |
