| short hair vs long hair Posted: 6/27/2007 11:23:05 AM | I love my long hair and from experience so far...men seem to like it too... maybe it because they like to have a good tug on it while in the bedroom :o | |

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 6/27/2007 11:24:38 AM | Sorry, but it's not just the MEN! I have a thing about hair also. I really am not attracted to men with really short hair.
For years, I've thought that Richard Gere was the sexiest man alive... then I saw him on the cover of a magazine with a near crew cut and OMG! He looked so geeky!
Gotta have the locks! | |

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 6/27/2007 1:34:48 PM | i lost a load of my hair due to illness about eighteen months ago, if you're anything like me its not the length of your hair, its the confidence you have with such a massive change in your appearance, mines back now but i still cant get anyone to take me on more than two dates. dont worry about it, if they cant see past short hair, they're not the kind of person you want to be with anyway surely? | |

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 6/27/2007 3:31:04 PM | | As a cancer survivor, I grow my mop really long, and hack it off to donate to children that are going through chemo treatments. I really haven't found a difference either way.... Some men prefer me with the shorter hair..(I must admit, even short it was collar-length)....and some men prefer the really long messy mop look.... Personally? I like the longer hair better because if I'm having a bad hair day, I simply tie it in a knot and run! LOL Could it be OP that your confidence about your looks went down some with the shearing, and maybe you just didn't put yourself out there as much as before? | |

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 6/27/2007 5:09:03 PM | I'm growing mine out and I'm snapping elastics like crazy.
Too much damned hair. | |
|
| short hair vs long hair Posted: 6/27/2007 5:47:24 PM | I donated mine to locks of love three times, but probably can't anymore because it is starting to go white and kids with salt and pepper hair might get odd looks.
The longest I donated was 22". That took forever to grow.
Oh well, I am counting down the days until law school is over and I have to cut my hair short forever.
Now that I think of it, would people refrain from hiring a lawyer because he has long hair????

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 6/27/2007 8:26:02 PM | | I see the thread is a year old, but to answer the question, men like hair on womens heads. They probably think you are a radical lesbian right now, atleast the time you posted originally. | |

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 6/28/2007 10:37:08 PM | | To me, I believe there are many guys out there who seem to like longer hair. My ex boyfriend (we're still working on getting back together and improving our relationship) has mentioned to me that having short hair almost looks too boyish. The prblem is, I hacked off a lot of my hair because it was too stringy when it was long, due to being on the wrong med combinations as a child. It ruined my hair growth, so long hair really looks bad on me. I'm currently growing it out to at least a bit of a bob so it's not so short. Men seem to not like the hair cuts that are really short lol. I've also had a guy friend of mine say the same thing. I just don't want my short hair to ruin getting a date with a guy, or at least getting back with my ex. | |

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 6/28/2007 11:15:43 PM | yeah it is that important... i just recently cut my hair (weave, haha) and have been getting the same reactions if not more from men positvely actually... maybe your face just is shaped to have longer hair. mine isn't... i love longer hair but it looks better...unfortunately short
here's a suggestion. just dye it blonde, people will be all on your sack... 91.987 % of men are predictable like that.<img src=http://www.plentyoffish.com/smiles/icon_201.gif border=0>

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 9/19/2007 4:40:29 PM | | i would vote long hair. had both off and on all my life. it is long now. i prefer long because for some reason it makes me feel more sensual and sexier. more feminine to me, not only to men. when i am makinglove i love to be on top and my hair either flowing all around him or i can feel it below the middle of my back. feels so wonderful!!! | short hair vs long hair Posted: 9/19/2007 4:42:16 PM | Is it important to men...hmmm...for me it is. I don't want a woman that looks like me. It's not a very feminine trait.
I have known some women who shaved their head for fun and still looked good. Perhaps the shaved head thing just isn't you?
@Queenie81: Can I pull it?

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 9/19/2007 6:40:50 PM | some guys care about hair length, I think really short or really long is sexy. At the end of the day though, you have to think about the personality, that's what's king. | |
|
| short hair vs long hair Posted: 9/20/2007 4:33:55 PM | it was of course a great thing you did for your mom and i would never criticize that. also, inner beauty is just as important as (if not more than) outer beauty. that being said, i am soo much more attracted to long hair than short. i really do NOT like short hair on a girl! just being honest. it'll grow back. | |

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 9/20/2007 4:42:41 PM | | I think that it depends. I had very short hair for a period of about 2 years and i had more compliments then than I do now with longer hair. Some men out there love it they think its cute and spunky but yes there is also those that love the long hair. Just as some like brunettes and some like blondes. | |

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 9/21/2007 7:03:24 PM | | men do have a fettish with long hair, i do believe its the whole doggy style pulling the hair thing. my hair is very long and men really do like it. and personally i love when they yank on it during sex. | |

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 9/21/2007 10:27:53 PM | primal instincts,,,,,,long healthy shiney hair, means a sign of good health...good health means healthy offsprings...............yada yada..............alot of men couldnt even tell you why they like it....but it really is primal instincts...... | |

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 9/21/2007 11:10:12 PM | | There are some intensely beautiful bald and short-haired women. It's so commonplace to have long hair now that's it's practically boring. I've always thought that stars like Meg Ryan and Cameron Diaz were hotter with their short hair - it made them stand apart from the crowd. I gave my long hair the chop and I feel sexier and more confident, and it's definately easier to take care of. It's admirable what you did for your mom. If someone I cared about lost their hair through chemo, I'd shave my head for them too without hesitation. People put too much emphasis on hair. It's just hair. If a guy wants to be with you because of the length of your hair, or not talk to you because of the shortness of your hair, then he's got some serious issues and should be avoided anyway. | |

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 9/22/2007 12:45:58 AM | | I wouldnt have thought it mattered, ive always had long hair due to it being curly,if anyone is going to become unintrested in you just because you have short hair i guess they arnt worth worrying over.I'm sure there are lots of good guys out therethat prefer a personality to hair length. | |

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 9/22/2007 8:47:31 AM | You go girl!!! Its a tough choice to cut your hair, but shaving it off is even more of a big deal. The fact that you did it for a cause close to your heart makes you a hero in my books! Your hair does not make you the person you are, it is an accesory. Stay true to your self and it will grow back. Thank you from a woman who may never have to face cancer but could face it someday!!!!!
To all the guys out there that request we keep our long hair (or grow it) it may be a part of your hardwireing, Its great to hear you say you like it, its even nicer to feel your fingers run through it. BUT for crying out loud can you do anything with it? Do you offer to run a brash through it, braid it, do anything but lust after it?

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 9/22/2007 9:35:01 AM | I think long hair is a sign of femininity. I will admit I am not crazy about it when women cut their hair into short "guy" and "soccer mom" cuts.
I will agree that it's just hair and it will grow back, but we've all seen enough experiences and even stuff written online to know that many men prefer women with long hair. Even you notice most women who cut their hair short do it way after they find a mate and/or marry. Wonder why that is?
I think cutting the hair shorter is ok provided the woman isn't losing her feminine beauty from it all. Shoulder length, even jaw-line length is cool. When they cut their hair and look more like a guy...not cool.

| short hair vs long hair Posted: 9/22/2007 9:56:48 AM | I haven’t got a preference when it comes to hair on a woman. Whether she has long or short hair it doesn’t really bother me. That been said, I do love it when a woman has short hair. Alas, very few women are able to pull off the “androgynous look” which is a shame. I can’t say I’ve met or dated a woman who was bald so I can’t really comment. However, if one got in touch with me, had a nice personality and wanted to date me I certainly wouldn’t reject her simply because she was bald!
It all comes down to preference I guess.
