Posted: 7/6/2006 10:04:05 PM | | I remember in Council Bluffs Iowa there used to be a theater called the Crest. It was a converted movie theater that showed all the classics at the time. I remember they showed Deep Thoat when it first came out and it had lines over a block long when it came out. Other movies they showed were all the John Holmes classics nothing like seeing Johnny Wad on the big screen. They had this balcony up above and those that turned 18 would go up there and shoot hand lotion on the people below during the money shots. It was actually kind of creepy going into that place you would hear people giggling and undoing there belt buckles and it had sticky floors. They about 3 grandmother type women who worked there selling tickets and popcorn and pop kind of wondered what they used in the popcorn I know I didnt ask or want any. They tore the place down in the 80's after people complained of it being in the downtown area and not wanting Council Bluffs to have that kind of repetion in the town. Now Council Bluffs has 3 large casinos which I think are more damaging to people then a adult art theater ever was. Aww the good ole days....... | |

It was kind of like the theatres where they show first run movies now....

The last time I went, my date and I went because the place was showing Behind The Green Door. The theater's sound system stopped working, and I ended up in the projection booth helping fix it. My date was understanding, but I can't believe now that I left her alone for even a few minutes there. | |
