| Why do all men prefer brunettes?

I have asked male friends and they say it depends on the girl, my exes have all dated girls with various hair colours.
There may be a preference ( I tend to like men with dark hair and dark eyes) But it does depend on the person! | |

Posted: 6/19/2006 4:29:23 AM | I know there was that old movie "Gentlement Prefer Blondes" but I've noticed, in real life, that isn't at all true. Every single guy I've met in my lifetime has told me that his ideal woman in terms of looks is a brunette. I'm just wondering why you guys go for brunettes so much over any other hair color? And why do so many women bleach their hair when guys clearly prefer dark haired women? No offense to the brunette women who read this, I just think you're extremely lucky. I'm a natural blonde myself and have dyed my hair red because I've always heard these guys say they'd take a redhead over blondes any day too. So, guys, can you give me a little insight here? Why is it only brunettes for you? What's so bad about blondes (natural blondes I mean) anyway?
Redheads all the way!!! I'm a real sucker for a true redhead....after that, it doesn't matter; blonde, brunette. either way, if I meet a girl with a personality I like, it really doesn't matter what color her hair is. | |

I bought a different color one day and died it back my natural color and ya know what? Even all the married guys from work were lookin my way! hahaha it was funny! Oh and ya...I'm a brunette lol But I guess I look better as a brunette then a red head. Although I was a blonde once...looked dam good as that (according to every person that saw me, one guy was walking into traffic looking at me instead of where he was going, he had this goofy grin on his face) but I did not like it necessarily so I changed it back. Go with what is for you not for other people...men will pick up on that not your hair color :) | |

I have a friend that was very into me then decided no we just should be friends. So freinds we stayed, I was a redhead at the time. He met a brunette friend of mine and FELL for her, big time, although he does not really like to be around her personality. He told me it was her hair color...all the way. When I died my hair back black from red, guess who wanted to be more then friends? Yup...him again. I said no because he had a big thing for hair color and my hair is not always goign to be black so...not for me. But, thought I would pass it on to you. There are those that hair color is one of the msot important things, with him it is. He is a nice guy, that is just the way he is wired I guess.

Also maybe they are more secure, blondes, and redheads to me are truly more attractive, but they know it, and tend to look past the average guy always trying to get the guy with it all. Their the competition gets tough, and looks alone won't get it, actually all the girls at that point are probably good looking. Along with blondes, and red hair I prefer green eyes, or blue. So instead of worrying about hair color, read some good books, about politics, and religion, read the paper for current events, so you cant hold an interesting conversation, relax laugh, and have a good time. When the time is right you will find someone. Looking at your picture I can assure you, it isnt your looks. It is either something in your selection process, or something other than looks. Posted: 6/19/2006 5:34:55 AM | I've dated an almost equal number of blondes & brunettes, and it never really mattered to me either way. I do like longer hair (off the shoulder is fine, but not really short hair), but that wouldn't stop me from dating a woman who was otherwise perfect.
On the flip side, I have this 'thing' about the long dark-haired hispanic look  , but I've never actually dated one so I'm not sure its really a 'preference'.
^^OP, besides you're a bit young for me, you're damn cute no matter what the hair color. You're also 3000miles away :-) | |

I was blonde for a few years and I found that most guys thought I was a bimbo and they were hitting on me for the wrong reasons, and the last year or so I've been brunette and males hitting on me just as much, but just have been taking me more seriously than before. I think you should dye your hair to the colour that YOU want, whether men will like it or not. | |

Also, be happy with who you are...no matter your hair color. I wouldn't change my hair color for a man...and especially since I might THINK that's what he likes. You should make those changes for yourself...if you are confident in who you are than confidence is what he'll notice..not the color of your hair... | |
