"Oh my good god loveable... are you serious... women with tats look like truck drivers... hehe from your pics it looks like you are living with your parents still.. I do know a good decorator who can give you some decorating advice... That wallpaper is soo outdated... And maybe a haircut is on order.. When you actually look good then you can write about women looking like truck drivers... Have a smurfy day...."

ROFLMAO Throwing insults when you're not good at is dangerous. Reminds me of an old joke............let's see, he can move out from mom's and the wallpaper can be changed and he can cut his hair. What about you?

luna-chick A well thought out tatoos can be very sexy, personally I have none but I still think that a well placed, well chosen tattoo is well very yummy, remember though that a poor choice can be a big turn off.

Have fun

Hey luna-chick..... The only ting I've heard about tats on the lower back and it relevance to pregnancy is if you plan on having an epideral then you won't be able to with a tat in that area. I have a large one on my lower back, which I got after all of my kids...As far as it being considered a "tramp stamp".....don't worry what others may say get it for you and only you and don't worry about it...

And who says just becuz you may think one chick isn't hot that someone else may think differently....Getting a tattoo doesn't change who a person it, so if you don't like them that's your opinion. Oh yeah and by the way no such word as grosser!!!!!

This is for cat fish 6: The fact that nobody would understand what it meant makes it even a better conversastion piece. You 'll be surprised, I've had random people come up to me in the malls and ask about my tattoos and where I get themdon. You'll know when your ready to get it and then it'll be no problem to figure out where to get it.
Good luck!!!!!

"tramp stamp"..... if you call a tattoo on the lower back this then you yourself are very ignorant and close minded. Tattoos on women are good it's all personal preference, personal I lvoe them, look at Bif Naked she looks good and has tats all over the place. I also know women with only a few tats and they still look great. As the saying goes "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

Tattoos, whatever...if you like it is all that matters, what someone else thinks hell....if we spent our lives worrying what others thought of us, we'd never do anything. To Luna Chick who started the thread, I don't have any ink, but if you are in good health, I can't imagine a tattoo is any more health risk than the flu shot. As for the tramp stamp stigma, I guess alot of people are stigmatised, so you'll be in good company and not hanging with the image conscious and ignorant...

I think it can be very sexy. Most ink isn't done for others but for ourselves so if it's something that means something to you then it's very cool and a good conversation starter. If you just like the look of it then that's your pref too and don't get bent about what others are thinking.
I have just one Tat, got it in Dublin Ireland in the early 90's. I was posted on board HMCS Terra Nova at the time and not liking it much. So I got my opinion of the navy at the time...Micky Mouse...

I'm not sure why anyone would deface their body with something so permanent.
It's just a huge fad right now amongst almost everybody. The people who get them may not think it's such a good idea in the future. Everyone going to such drastic measures just to follow what others seem to be doing is pretty sad if you ask me. I remember when young people would look down on people with tattoos and now they suddenly all want one. I definitely appreciate the artistic capabilities and talent of the artists doing them but to me they distract from the overall beauty of someone and are a big turn off, especially if they are bigger. Another thing that I find hilarious is that a lot of people say they are expressing themselves yet most people get the same cliche tattoos.

Prof: I think you may need to get your eyes checked. Bif Naked would be gross even if she didn't have tattoos. She's a little too crass and manly for my liking. To each their own I guess.

Yes you are correct to each their own, don't tell me I need to get my eyes check buddy... who the fuck are you to tell me this, it's my choice, my likes, my eye that beholds the beauty I see not you or anyone else.

By the way tattooing has been around for 1000's of years so tell me how is it all of a sudden a fad...
"the history of tattoo began over 5000 years ago and is as
diverse as the people who wear them"-
"in 1991, a five thousand year old tattooed man ‘ötzi the ice man’ made the headlines of newspapers all over the world when
his frozen body was discovered on a mountain between austria and italy.
this is the best preserved corpse of that period ever found. the skin bears 57 tattoos: a cross on the inside of the left knee, six straight lines 15 centimeters long above the kidneys and numerous parallel lines on the ankles.
the position of the tattoo marks suggests that they were probably
applied for therapeutic reasons (treatment of arthritis). "- apparently this guy was also into the recent fad of tattooing.

"Tattoos have served as rites of passage, marks of status and rank, symbols of religious and spiritual devotion, decorations for bravery, sexual lures and marks of fertility, pledges of love, punishment, amulets and talismans, protection, and as the marks of outcasts, slaves and convicts."

My tatoo,s are all my own designs.
She wolf on back with her 2 pups is a visual pic of my relationship with my 2 sons, it is also about me being, strong, dependable, caring, a good provider, and loving.
If people take offence then they are not my kind of people.

cw....did you ever stop to think that what you say may seem like a good thing at the time .....but will turn out to bite you in the ass later ?

I would be more offended by something negative someone said than by a tattoo they have.

Talk about crass.....your attitude about everything stinks.

Is there anything or anybody that you actually like ?

On Topic : I have a tattoo....love it...always will...and have no idea if I will get another.

If I think of a good one I will get it......may even plant it on my forehead

Prof: I was talking more about how tattooing has become a fad amongst younger men and women lately. Did this mummy have a barbed wire tattoo around it's upper arm? lol. I realize that tattooing has been around forever and you just proved my point that it's kind of a primitive practice that until recently wasn't an accepted norm in our society. Unless this ice man was from Canada. I'm not really sure why primitive, superstitious rights play into this topic anyway since I don't think the question actually pertained to the attractiveness of 5000 year old men from the other side of the globe. Obviously this is a very sensitive topic for you since it makes you so violent.

Jade: I guess crass would be a better word than gross and I could care less what shape she's in since I judge people by how they act and carry themselves. How great someone is isn't based on how pretty they are or how good they look.

Sweetgin: Sorry if any of my opinions don't meet with your seal of approval. I'll check with you next time I'm about to have a thought on something. I also don't see how having an opinion on something in a positive or negative way could "bite me in the ass".
If someone wants to hate me for having a different view than they do, then that's someone I don't want around me in the first place.

CERTAIN tattoos on SOME woman are absolutely amazing! Sexy/Strong/Unique

I’m guessing most women ink themselves for personal reasons and hopefully not for external approval reasons. Hence the number and location of the tattoos would follow personal choice. People who judge will judge regardless of your choice.
Anytime you break the skin there is risk.

If you’re gonna ink yourself make it special and IGNORE everyone else.
Personally I find the [semi] hidden tattoo is a thousand times sexier.

My tattoos are for ME, I designed them . Most people are surprised I have them , the comments are usually "you don't look the type" Of course, they are hidden until I want to show them.

Actually, I agree with some of what cw says. Yes, tattooing has been around for quite awhile but I feel it is more of a fad now than it ever was. About 20-30 yrs ago the only folks that normally had a tattoo were sailors and bikers. Yes, I'm sure non-sailors and non-bikers had them but it wasn't as prevalent as it is now.
I personally don't have any and don't see me getting any. However, one never knows what the future holds. Hey, if I got one when my skin was already wrinkly it won't look so bad.
But I look at it as a personal choice. One of my daughters has 3 tattoos. 2 small ones and a "tramp stamp". Yes, I'm calling it that because I tease her by using that word...she's 23. And I'm not ignorant or close minded.
Thus I don't find the odd tattoo unattractive. I just don't like the look of the ones that cover the whole arm or other major body part. That's just my individual choice and tattoos are definitely about individualism.

Me violent, no upset that that you told me to check my eyes, that my vision of beauty for me was wrong... yes you could say Piss off, but no one has ever called me violent ever. I used strong words to convey how upset I am at your remark towards me being wrong about my eye for beauty for myself.

"One of my daughters has 3 tattoos. 2 small ones and a "tramp stamp". Yes, I'm calling it that because I tease her by using that word...she's 23. And I'm not ignorant or close minded"- lol there is a diference between teasing and meaning it to me..so teasing is all fine and good as long as the other knows and I'm sure your daughter knows that.

CW,you say that how good a person is isn't based on how they look or how pretty they are and then you contradict yourself by saying that professer should have his eyes checked and that tattoos are defacing your body! that's basing someones character on the visual is it not?...and as for Bif Naked being in shape,I was making my own observation not asking for your approval of it.I don't think you know anything about Bif Naked and are solely going by what you have seen of her visually. If not, lets hear the information that you've based your opinion of her on.

I can think of many things that were once not acceptable norms in society, women's equality, african american equality, childrens rights, gay rights and on and on.What kind of reasoning is "I remember when young people looked down on people with tattoos"? that's some well thought out opinion.

Jade: I knew you'd say that but my statements on Bif Naked were based on what I've heard and the way she speaks, etc. If she had no tattoos, she'd still be unappealling. She has a very manish demeanor which doesn't appeal to me in a woman. I took a little poll at work today about her and it turns out almost everyone I talked to had more negative comments about her than I would have ever said. So I don't think it's just me with the horrible attitude. (Actually it's just my opinion but I know how much POFers hate opposing opinions, so let's all say I'm a horrible person instead). Also, I don't believe in judging people on their looks, shape, size etc. but we aren't born with tattoos and to me they mar our bodies permanently and are not a natural part of us no matter what we look like. I've dated people who have gotten tattoos and while I'm not thrilled by it I would never stop loving someone because of it.

So are you actually trying to compare women's rights and gay rights with a subject as trivial as tattoos or did I misread what you wrote? All I was pointing out was that it is obviously a fad amongst the majority of younger people because they would have never thought of doing it in the past (and probably would have shunned it) and it probably won't be "cool" at some point in the future. It has nothing to do with the evolution of human rights. I'm pretty sure there were no major protests or riots pertaining to the right to tattoo yourself but I could be wrong. I get a kick out of how people will twist things in these threads to involve more serious and sensitive issues to wrangle support and try to make others feel bad about their statements. Luckily I see it for what it really is.

Prof: You're right. Everyone has their own idea of beauty. I have to apologize for the "check your eyes" comment. It would probably make me mad as well.

I think today more people are getting tattoos because, like almost everything else, it is more acceptable within society. Alot of tattoos are done for cosmetic reasons as well as personal forms of expression (ask most people with tattoos and there's usually a story or some significance behind it).
Nowadays what isn't a fad, lol...and if that fad fades wait ten years and it'll resurface. Tattooing has been around for thousands of years and in many cultures ( the ainu of northern Japan and the Samoans take tattooing very seriously within their societies), and with the migration of different people all over the world it is no wonder it is becoming more acceptable.
Me personally, too many tattoos on a male or female can negatively affect their personal appearance, but that also depends on the quality and organization of the tattooing itself, not to mention location. I have two tattoos and would not hesitate to get more. My daughter is 21 and has a tattoo also. The tattoo on the lower back of a woman as well as bracelet tattoos I think can look very attractive, in my opinion much more attractive than a woman with too many piercings (even though a pierced belly button is the sexiest piercing ever). Just my opinion, people....do whatever makes you happy is what i say.

Yes,I was comparing the fact that you said people used to look down upon those with tattoos and that it once wasn't accepted in society to other things like a gay couple holding hands walking down the street etc...when you "look down upon" someone for a seemingly "trivial" reason,it is still having preconcieved notions about someone without actually knowing anything about them...it is the thin edge of the wedge. It is of course your right to find tattoos unattractive, but I find it offensive when you give such a harsh opinion of someone you don't know anything about. To say you wouldn't date her is one thing but to say she's gross or crass (grossly vulgar or stupid ) is out of line IMHO.I'm done now...

I agree with Sweetgin and Jade67.

CW35 seems to have a negative view of women in general. (according to his posts)

Uh-ho...I feel a negative comment coming my way...(better wear my bullet proof vest for that one) in a literal way...oops! lol

Tattoos can be done tasfully on women. I have one and only one. And only a few select people can see it if I choose to show it without totally disrobing myself. And no! It is not in a dirty place! Geesh! Gawd..get your mind out of the gutter. hehehe

But all my friends heard me talked about it. And yes, it was a well thought decision on my part...to celebrate the year I turned 40! woohoo! Because I felt great and I wanted to marked that year. It's mine and it's unique!

Noooooo...I am not a 'Biker chick' and don't do drugs...so there.

Venus: That's hilarious. I'd like to see all these posts that would lead you to believe I have a bad view of women. I think it's funny that if you dare and argue with a woman or take an opposing view on this site, you're branded as some kind of woman hater but it's perfectly acceptable behavior if the positions are reversed. It obviously shows a sick level of attempted manipulation to strong arm others into shutting up and keeping their opinions to themselves. I could care less if you convince everyone that I'm the devil himself. If I have an opinion, I have a right to express it. If I'm bullied and attacked, I have the right to fight back. If you don't like me then why read my posts at all? I'm assuming just to have something to fight about. I respect and admire real women more than anyone, unfortunately there are a lot of jerks disguised as women as I'm finding out.
I obviously like women and think there are still great women out there or I wouldn't be here at all.

Jade: I think you were done before since what you're saying still makes no sense. I was talking about how teenagers and young people make fun of things one second and the next it's the thing to do. This seems to be the case with tattoos. That's why for the mainstream people it has just become a trend that probably won't last. Of course you can't make your points without playing the manipulation game by trying to drag racism and human rights into it when they really have nothing to do with what I said if you actually tried to understand my post. I'm really sorry if you're best friends with Miss Torbert or something but I have bad news, the majority of people I talked to think she's a lot worse than I do. She's a walking faux punk cliche with predictable, anti establishment drivel stating the obvious as if it's some kind of genius revelation. All this and a very mediocre voice. She seems to want to try and tout the teenage, skateboarding angst ridden persona but obviously it's kind of foolish when someone pushing 40 tries it. Seems like a desperate attempt to get the young people to buy records to me. What makes me mad is that there are so many talented musicians and writers that we never hear of but this kind of music gets published.
