| Do you believe in Fate? Posted: 6/20/2006 7:57:36 AM | For sure I do. I think things happen the way they are supposed to. I think we meet the people we do when we are SUPPOSED to and not until. There are people close to me now that if I had met any earlier in life I wouldn't have maybe even talked to let alone befriend. Now that I am a grown up though and have realized many things about what makes a good friend..I am able to see that if I hadn't been through one horrible thing I wouldn't have realized the most important thing about a person is not who they hang out with or how they dress..it is how the treat people and how they behave towards me. So even though what I went through at the time hurt like hell. I learned something about myself and others because of it. I believe that everything happens for a reason. That things are not by accident or unfair. Everything that has happened in my life has taught me something or made me better in some way. The most tragic things I have been through have shown me that. | |

But we can either choose to see the signs that are given to us, or ignore them. I am starting to realize who I am supposed to be with, I never would have thought I could get my feelings back for him in a million years, I also started to doubt ever feeling anything for him, I thought maybe I was with him for pity for him, when I say him I am referring to my ex husband. I left him august of 04 he has put me and my child through alot of agony. He has since come back into our lives, I had been thinking that he could be a part of his daughters life but as far as I am concerned leave me alone, I wanted nothing to do with him. I have been seeing every sign pointing me to at least trying to work things out with him. Everything just seems to be telling me that this is the right thing to do, now I could hold onto a grudge and never forgive or I could forgive, and give us another chance when that is what my gutt is telling me. Nothing has ever felt so right. But as I tell him forgive, not forget.
I may be wrong about the signs and my feelings maybe I am just being naive and stupid, but somehow I think I am going to have fun finding out.

| Do you believe in Fate? Posted: 6/20/2006 9:45:47 AM | Believing in fate and destiny when it comes to love is the least romantic thing I can thing of. I'd like to believe that we all choose who we love, that it's an active, willful decision, that we're in control, and that we can change our minds at any time if we want to.
That way, you know damn well that the person who loves you really does love you and they're not just caught up in some mystical whirlwind of emotion that has nothing to do with who either of you really are.
If it's all up to fate, if we have no choice, then it's not really love, no more than the earth loves objects that it pulls toward it with its gravity.
I do believe in fortune though. In other words, sometimes very lucky coincidences happen that change your life forever, totally beyond your control, but very fortunate. You go left instead of right one day and meet the person of your dreams. Call it God, Fate, the stars, random chance, or whatever, but it is active every day.
However, "Fate can only take you so far, after that it's up to you." - Angel stripper, Can't Hardly Wait

| Do you believe in Fate? Posted: 6/20/2006 3:54:43 PM | I believe that things happen for a reason ie i met my bf off this site and yet he lives downstairs, we both wound up doing laundry at same time and therefore bumped into one another. Since then we've talked hours on end nightly during coffee and smokes. Oddly I live 6 floors above and 1 unit to th side of him now thats an odd coincidence esp since he moved in a few months ago from a considerable distance away and that this apt was my last option bc of my credit history. Now we'r trying to locate the reason behind our meeting | |

| Do you believe in Fate? Posted: 6/20/2006 7:58:17 PM | There are some things we cant and can control.
Fate of your life? or being with or meeting someone? What you end up doing and not doing... changing your mind.. convincing and affecting other people.. can have an affect on our lives and future. I dont think peoples lives or relationships were always planned out before they happen, but I do think meeting certain people and some things in your life were meant to happen, because we need them to or want them to. We end up doing things in different ways than we had planned before or taking more time than expected. Cant go around always thinking everything is fine as it is or eventually will be, and only thinking that good or bad things will happen later.

| Do you believe in Fate? Posted: 6/20/2006 8:45:46 PM | | Ryan...I do believe in fate. If only for the reason that no matter how hard you look for love you will never find it. Love finds you. No matter how hard you want or don't want to be in love, you will be, whether you like it or not. susan | |

| Do you believe in Fate? Posted: 6/20/2006 9:15:36 PM | I believe that there are certain things you have to live through in order to get to where you must get to.... there may be various roads, but they all eventually lead you to the same end (some are easy roads, some are hard) but ultimately you choose the road to take and each road brings it's own adventures but all will lead to the same end...
I don't know if it's fate or not, but I believe, that God predetermines some of the things you have to live through for one reason or another but we have the will to decide how we will get to it and how we will come through it after.

| Do you believe in Fate? Posted: 6/24/2006 8:30:21 PM | Lady Kay very nice way of putting it! Fate and Destiny are things we tag to what we want out of life, and if we do our best they can happen. Acheiving them is the greatest gift of all. Yes changing and growing as a person often changes those things but really we always do want the same things from life, just in different ways Bob aka busterrm | |

| Do you believe in Fate? Posted: 6/27/2006 1:35:24 PM | | absolutely. but i believe we make choices as to which path we follow--but i do believe that the universe has quirky ways of continutally giving you that choice--it keeps coming around. i just wish sometimes that i could see the bigger picture..fate is really easy to accept in hindsight, much harder in the moment or prior to that moment. | |

| Do you believe in Fate? Posted: 6/27/2006 1:39:07 PM | | I believe everything happens for a reason, good or bad, and then how our lives turn out, comes from those events. The people you meet, the person you fell in love with the first time, or the last time; each has an effect on your life which determines which path you are going to follow. My path has some turns and twists in it, always has. That path though, fate, or whatever you would like to call it, is going to be the one I reflect on when I'm 90 and say "I did the right thing... for me". | |

| Do you believe in Fate? Posted: 6/27/2006 2:57:18 PM | I agree with message 42 and the above post too
I believe everything is pre written for you
Some will call it fate, some will say it is destiny
I hope my destiny with someone works out soon
As they say people come into your life one of three ways
Either for a reason, a season or a life time...

| Do you believe in Fate? Posted: 6/27/2006 3:50:27 PM | When I was growing up I was forced to go to a southern baptist church where they taught us that our entire life from birth to death, was already written in the "book of life". That plus a lot more, turned me off to religion, and when I turned 15 my mother got tired of dragging me out of bed every Sunday. I mean really dragging me out of bed.
I hope that there is no such thing as fate. If our lives are pre written, then why try? Why not just float through life and let it play out it's pre written script.
I really don't believe in fate. If you want something to happen in your life, you have to do something to make it happen. I have heared that good things come to those that wait. I say nothing comes to those that wait. I say good things come to those that go out and look for them.

| Do you believe in Fate? Posted: 6/27/2006 3:56:43 PM | | I believe in fate- I believe things happen for a reason, we are given free will to make our own choices yet I believe that those choices are like roads that lead to the same place. Which road you choose will decided if it's the hard way or the easy way. Everyone has their own ideas on this question- but what you'll find is that most do believe that something other than just coincedance has lead them to where they are. | |

I did NOT see where he had his caps lock on the only thing was on caps was the first of the letter in the posting wich should have been in caps.

| DO YOU BELIEVE IN FATE? Posted: 6/27/2006 4:57:09 PM | Well i gotta say i do believe in it, and i believe in destiny as well. I might not like the fact that we aren't in control of our life's , but then again if it was fate and destiny then it was meant to be right? I dunno, call me silly but i kinda like the fact that there is someone out there for everyone. I just wish mine would come on this way...
