| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/10/2007 12:30:29 PM | Lots of water.. No sun.. (I like my graveyard tan, thank you very much) No smoking.. No frowning.. Good sleep.. Good genes in the skin department.. More water.. Play with your dog.. No fancy facial creams here... Just pure shea butter...
My REAL secret:
I lipsynch to metal from the 80's, The Byrds & Janis Joplin every day.. Exercises the facial muscles so skin has no chance to sag.. I swear to the Goddess that this has something to do with it..
I'm 37 and look 24.. So I'm going to continue to do it..

| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/16/2007 11:06:12 PM | | must be genes, because i don't do any of the "right" things to stay young looking but I often get "you have a 20 year old daughter?!? that's impossible, what were you 7 when you had her?!?" I love it lol | |

| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/17/2007 6:57:05 PM | This is for the TV quality women out...
Opps posting when I'm not a 10 - but hey it's TV - they can do good stuff with technology these days .... *hardy har har* but at least I'm over 30
Okay, some men who maybe need glasses don't think I'm 33 - but they know how to compliment and I appreciate anything I can get....
Life I've lived - a crazy one. In my 20s I partied hard, didn't use moisturizers, and wore really really bad clothes, worked out a lot, drank too much (has that changed?) but focused on education and career....okay had a lot of fun also....
Who cares where I went to school?
Yea, and botox is apparently flying around. Makeup helps. Oh yea .. PHOTOSHOP awards, thank gawd majority are photoshop savvy these days.. hee hee hee hardy har har
But that's just my forum contribution for the night......

| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/17/2007 11:23:53 PM | Good genetics, eat right, lots of water, exercise, and a sense of contentment in my life, and being an optimist never hurts either | |

| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/18/2007 12:52:24 AM | I have been told i dont look 32...i think its because i am very happy and calm...comfortable with myself...I eat extremely healthy and always have.....I have never had a zit or a cavity and the only lines i might have would be from laughing and smiling. I am very active and havent stopped learning.
I find eatting lots of fruit and vegetables a help...also having great teeth....moiturized skin and dressing in a contemporary way that suits your age, body and lifestyle also help.

| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/18/2007 11:54:45 AM | People assume I am in my early 20's,when I am actually 33.I think it might be because I never have worn make-up.(Make-up can cause wrinkles)The fact that I am an xbox freak and live in jeans and sneakers may have something to do with it too.Not to mention my awesome kids, who definitely keep me young. I sunburn from a 60 watt bulb,so I have wear a 50 spf in the summer.... probably helps keep the wrinkles at bay.... I think in general, modern medicine advances etc,are making us a younger looking gereration, and life just isn't as hard as it used to be,we aren't out toiling in the fields all day anymore...although some of us still have to get up at the ungodly hour of 4 am to go to work lol, like me for instance,I'm surprised it hasn't aged me!

| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/19/2007 5:28:44 AM | | People tell me all the time they can't believe I'm 31...I would have to say I have good genes to thank for that cause I love nothing more than sitting on the beach all summer long, I smoked for 13 years quit almost 5 years ago, Ive done my fair share of drinking when I was younger, and junk food is my best friend...so I totally believe good genes plays the major role in looking young!!!! | |

| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/20/2007 4:28:18 AM | | One I haven't seen mentioned... people who look young, regardless of sex, are often young at heart. You can't help exuding your heart to your exterior. | |
|
| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/20/2007 11:26:01 AM | The last guy I dated was 29. He asked me out and totally thought I was "close" to his age! It was flattering. I'm probably not saying anything new but in case you're paying attention to how many things are mentioned, here's mine;
Good genes: gotta give Dad the credit due Never smoke, no drugs, minimal alcohol Lots of water Moisturizer Exercise at least 3 times a week (was always an athlete since I was a child). Lots of fruits and vegetables Get your sleep Garlic Flax seed oil and multivitamin, every day Red wine Make time for your girlfriends Play with your children... I mean participate; not just watch! Daily prayer and devotion (keeps you centered and positive)

| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/20/2007 8:39:43 PM | | My secret is drink lots of water and eat fast food works for me. | |
|
| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/20/2007 8:48:14 PM | | I've always looked young. When I was 25 people thought I was about 15. I hated it then, but now that I'm turning 40, I like it that I look younger. I don't even mind getting few gray hairs--I've earned them. | |
|
| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/21/2007 5:41:05 AM | | It's Genes for sure! My Mom, Brothers and Sisters all look younger! Diet and Sun exposure are secondary. | |
|
| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/21/2007 10:49:45 AM | [I wish I could comment, but I look every bit of my 38 years....it's those Canadian women that look like that; must be the fresh air or the water or something.... ]
This phenomena has been studied to death...it exists and frankly I could tell you the secret but I'd have to kill ya.. (it's kinda like and X-files thing..)
Seriously..everyone ages differently, factors like genetics, smoking, etc. certainly play a part, but it's really just a number . Think back to school and remember there were big kids..small kids..same thing as we get older..individuality rocks! Be yourself..embrace what we look like, we earned every line, wrinkle we have...WOO HOO!!
|

| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/22/2007 8:35:55 PM | Personally, I believe aging is a disease - but somehow we've all bought into the lie that it's an inevitable process. Most people don't take responsibility for their own role in holding off the erosion of time. Good genetics is only a small part of it - in fact, I would venture to say that most of what we attribute to genetics is not in fact anything to do with genetics, but rather more to do with energetic patterns that are passed down from one generation to the next. If you're willing to look at what those patterns are, you can break them - the same way you can break 'bad' relationship patterns.
Youthfulness comes from within.
In my own case, I was leading a pretty unhealthy lifestyle for many years, was self-destructive, and didn't like myself very much. I was in a soul-sucking relationship, depressed, chronically ill, and my metabolism started shutting down on me. All this before my mid-30s. I finally woke up and took a good look at what I had been doing to myself, and why, and was finally able to break through some major blocks that were keeping me in an unhealthy place. It's not easy work, but if you won't do it for yourself, who will? We only get the one body per lifetime, might as well take care of it. So now, 10 years after starting this process, I run into people who knew me back then - and they usually don't recognize me. Apparently I look younger now than I did 10 years ago. Of course, I'm always shocked at how old THEY look.
Also, cigarettes, makeup, alcohol, processed foods, sugar, and hydrogenated fats are an invention of Satan.

| Why don't you age? Posted: 1/22/2007 10:18:21 PM | Hmmm, at the risk of revealing secrets of the women on the board, I will reveal my take on this. Lighting...pure and simple. A woman learns to manipulate lighting and camera angles to enhance her good features while masquerading or diminishing her not so good features I have friends who are very photogenic but look much older in real life and vise versa. If this isn't the case then I can only assume great genes. Thank your parents :) | |

A woman learns to manipulate lighting and camera angles to enhance her good features while masquerading or diminishing her not so good features Well, ~Dusty~, all I can say in that case is that there doesn't seem to be much need for lights or angles in your case.
Of course, that's obvious.

That, my dear man, proves my point exactly. See? It works
