There's just people who don't age fast biologically. They take care of themselves and lead healthy lives.
Then of course you also meet the opposite: people in their 20's and 30's who look 2 decades older.
Ouch.

I get this ALL the time...I look after myself.. I have 3 kids...I think a lot of it is good genes...how you eat etc etc...

Sometimes one can not control how they age....Rather tired of being called a liar with my recent pics LMAO..

How many times have you people opened a poster's profile, when they said, "I look younger than my age." And didn't agree with them at all? You only look young for your age, when you're compared to someone who looks old for their age.

I AGREE WITH HDK---I KNOW A GAL THAT IS 55, THINKS SHE LOOKS 40 AND WONDERS WHY MEN IN THEIR LATE 30'S OR EARLY 40'S ONLY HAVE SEX WITH HER AND DON'T COME BACK. SHE SAYS SHE DON'T WANT TO DATE MEN HER AGE BECAUSE THEY ARE WRINKLED AND TOO OLD. HER LOSS. OLDER MEN MAY HAVE SOME WRINKLES, BUT WE'RE NOT DEAD. ALSO MANY WOMEN ON HERE WON'T RESPOND TO A GUY WHEN THEY SEE HE IS OLDER. PRE-JUDGED I GUESS.

I know I may get a lot of bashing for having the nerve to step forward on this. I don't think I'm all that, but I do get a lot of ppl in their mid 30's to early 40's say "you're too young to remember this," or "people our age...", so I may have something to share.

Yes, good genes is likely to be a factor, but I think even "bad" genes can be overcome.

What I did when I finally snapped out of my couch-lock was start a cleanse (Master Cleanser) after reading about it on another forum. I will post it in its entirety if anyone is interested. I did it for 14 days and felt an amazing change in my eyesight, skin and energy level (went up, up, up). Then I did detox using zeolite (it's a multi-level marketing product, so I won't recommend a distributor because I don't care about that aspect of it - you can google for a source). It has an interesting molecular structure that traps and pulls toxins out of you and it's a natural, harmless mineral. It gets out uranium, mercury, aluminum, pesticides, the list goes on and and it DOES work. It was extremely unpleasant to get rid of the stuff and took months, which was costly, but much cheaper than cancer. The mercury was the worst. It felt like a had brittle swords being pulled out of me, especially around the jaw. I had all my mercury fillings replaced years ago and was shocked to discover how much was still left in my soft tissue.

Then I had rolfing (deep massage that breaks up fascia) to clear my frozen shoulder and carpal tunnel. I had a series of massages a few years ago and I'm still releasing fine nerves all over my body. Apparently, the affected nerves traveled down through to my feet, especially the right side.

I used Oil of Oregano, an amazing natural antibiotic that naturally contains carvacol, the strongest antibiotic known. It's very important that you use the right oregano, because there are a lot of products that contain the wrong one (mediterranean vs. wild mexican - you want the wild mexican.) The best supplier I know of for this is at www.se!.us. I used this for two weeks (3 drops in a bowl of steaming water with a towel over the head) to clear out my sinuses, lungs and everything else. You can also cut this 1:12 parts OoO to organic olive oil and use it topically for cuts and infections and under the tongue for prevention (cold, flu, etc.).

I only eat organic and use meat as a condiment, run 4+ miles every other day (or try to), do steam saunas (another great detox) and let's see --- stay away from teevee and meditate. I do smoke all natural cigarettes, Nat Sherman Hint o' Mint, about a half a pack a day. It is one of the only vices I hang onto. I don't drink. Never had plastic surgery, never will. I detest conventional medicine and believe we are all very powerful beings and have the internal technology to do anything, once we tap into the source. I think having a strong belief in spirit, along with a study in energy (such as yoga or martial arts) is also key.

I think something snapped in me that made me want to be healthy more than ANYTHING. I just went at it.

Hope this helps!

LOL.. well as an 'older woman' and not one sure of being TV quality, i would think it is either good genes or easy living! For me personally, as some say i look younger than i am, i guess it maybe genetic... and not due to layering on too much make up too young and then using heaps of lotions, potions, tonics and miracle de-wrinklers to take it all of again every night.. I use water, that's always been my schedule! As for lifestyle.. lot's of stress, incredibly late nights and always being busy seems to do the job, with smoking and drinking of course added to that! ha ha

I've been told that I look like I'm 27 or 28 and I'm 37 for crying out loud!
So, I'm not complaining about that one bit. I do have just a bit of grey coming out of my "sideburn" area which I'm not fond of at all.
I'm sure the following points have been discussed over and over but I'm repeating them and possibly adding some new ones. Anyways if you want to look younger longer...
1. Eat LOTS of fruit / vegetables and drink lots of water. It will flush out a lot of impurities. If tap water turns you off, get a Brita pitcher or something.
2. If you tan whether it's by the sun or in a booth or whatever, do so in moderation and keep that skin moisturized! If you tan everyday, you will regret it on down the line.
3. Smoking will age your skin bigtime. Don't smoke and if you do, STOP!
4. Don't drink like a fish either, and stay away from hard drugs.
5. Eat junk food sparingly. Or better yet, don't eat it at all.
6. Consume fresh food and avoid processed food when / if possible.
7. Get out of debt. Debt will stress you out bigtime and stress will age you faster than anything
8. And on and on...

When I was in my 20's I was really too busy to go to tanning bed ...in college I spent most of my time studying and then had a child in my early 20's(no time to tan)....so I think that preserved my skin a little.. Also my parents didn't smoke so think that has alot to do with it...smoking takes oxygen out of ur system and causes wrinkles...I also haven't smoked most of my life (well I have picked a few up lately some friends can testify to that..lol) . My skin is also thick so gives it smoother appearance...

In my 20's I was a highly stressed workaholic who lived on caffeine and cigarettes and maybe ate once a day if that. I traveled three weeks out of a month leaving every Sunday and coming back on Friday night. Just long enough to do laundry, pack and leave again. I was with my ex-husband from 17 years old and from 22 to 30, he didn't work or clean or do much of anything except harrass me about working too much (any reason to get away from a bad situation). I finally got up my courage and left at 30.

I have always had a positive outlook (not delusional, just trying to make the most of whatever situation I was facing). I laugh a lot. I do not have kids. I do have an awesome dog and I have had her for 4 years. I am close with all three of my siblings and my parents (even though they are all crazy). I have traveled and lived in places just because I thought they were cool and fit who I was at that time. And this may be ridiculous.....but.....when I was 16 my Dad told me the only thing a woman needed to stay beautiful forever was noxema to clean her face and Oil of Olay to keep it soft. I know....it is totally corny - but he gave me my first bottle of it for my birthday and I have used it every day since (although we are now using the Regenerist line ).

Anyway - here comes 37 and it doesn't hurt a bit!

Dark beer and frequent masturbation. OK, seriously. I'm 39 and have ben told I look a lot younger. I stay active, I wear clothes that look youthful but not teeny bopperish. I keep a general idea of what's in stayle lookwise. IE. you could be 27 and if you're rockin' a Burt Reynolds stache you will look MUCH older.

I think it's partly the genes, but also if you take care of yourself mentally and physically. Physically only goes so far.

Mentally I feel is most important. Most people around lose the fun of being alive. They don't appreciate it. They get used to it.

When you pull the excitement of youth in your being, you can't help but stay young.

One word: Sunscreen.

I use suscreen every day, rain or shine. My sister who is 4 yrs older than me, has terrible sun damage though. She has had it since before she was my age now. She still has a youthful glow and lovely locks though :)

It might be a gene thing too, to a point. Even the guys in my family have full heads of hair well into their 50's and 60's. My dad is going to be 70 next year, still has all his hair and is only greying right by his ears. No one in my family colors their hair.

Probably because most of the people who put pictures up on here are using pictures that are 10 to 15 years old. OR they have caked on enough make-up, especially foundation, to fill in a pothole.

It has to be in your genes and NOT smoking or drugs. I'm 38 and am told constantly I look under 28. I was a heavy sunworshiper too since I was a kid n back then never used suntan lotion and spent summers at the beach.. Also don't laugh, oily skin keeps from the dryness of fine lines.... our skin is always natually moiturized..lol I don'teat good, don't excersise much, don't apply any skin stuff for wrinkles. But I will say I think the biggest thing for me is I always wear foundation, always since I was a kid in school. First 10 mins outside is where most sun damage occurs, when u wear foundation ur protected, SUNGLASSES are a big thing too.

What makes most people look young is not being over weight. And that is really true also...compare 2 twins over weight and the other not the thinner one will look younger to u.

^Nah, I don't agree with that. If you look at anorexic people compared to overweight, the heavier person looks younger. I'm just talking about faces. Fat fills out your face. If you are too skinny, you start to see bones and have hollowed out cheeks. I've always had chubby cheeks and think I look younger than thinner people my age. Fat fills out wrinkles. If you look at celebs that go down to size zero, they look older than when they had meat on their bones.

I have no idea what I do, and I certainly agree that genes must have something to do with it. People think that my mom is my sister, and my grandmother is my mom. At the tender age of 30, strangers still insist that i'm around 22, and argue with me when i tell them my age. Who lies about being older??

It's not always a positive thing. I'm sure when i'm 60 and look 50 that will be wonderful, but while looking for a mate it's not that great. I get young guys who think that i'm their age, or old guys who think i'm super young, but guys my age won't look at me twice, thinking that i'm too young for them.

phew....glad to get that off of my chest

It's not about what kind of life I lived for if I told you what my life had been about I should be looking like the Crypt Keeper right about now.

It is a matter of where I kept my mind through the years. My heart never put away the childish things and still hasn't. I very much enjoy cartoons in front of the TV with a big bowl of cold cereal and a large spoon, playing PC games, dancing and singing if a song strikes me to do so, LOL when something is funny, enjoy my loved ones, teasing my dog and he I, flirting with people, and most important just taking the time to smell the roses. Your basic every day nutter, but a happy one!

I'm a Tomboy for the most part. I don't do all the girly cosmedics and special lotions, creams or beauty salons (so not me). When I want to be pampered I do it myself or let my man do it for me.

I might add that I do not let stress, worry or anger rule over me. It comes I deal with it and then I let it alone.

I don't eat meat. I don't drink alcohol. I exercise everyday. I drink a lot of water. And most importantly, I embrace each day with love in my heart and a spring in my step, happy to be alive and to be able to love and play music, and do all the things I love to do.

Well especially Asian & mixed decent women who doesnt smoke are more than likely look younger than how old they are; I myself i am 39 in like 3-4 months but I sometimes still get mistaken to be in high school.

Its the way I live life too- I dont stress out or worry about small stuff; I just go with the flow.
I dont smoke or do drugs that also helps not get too haggard. And also I dont wear that much make up it ruins the pores in your skin especially if you wear it almost all the time.
