I agree , I have lived here over 22 years and i am careful about the sun. Doesn't matter where you live but how you live. Believe me I do my share of unhealthy thngs, but also do lots of healthy things.

Number 1 secret...drink lots of water.

No drinking or smoking, lots of rest. I guess having no kids helps.

Avoiding drama as much as possible, and doing things that make me happy.

well i believe mine is genetic....i am half japanese..... lived the wild side most of my adult life lots of sorrow, drugs, death in family, friends and love relationships

now i am drug free, never smoked cigs anyway, rarely ever drink alcohol, law abiding, debt free, try to be kind to everyone, only with those that i respect and enjoy, avoid drunk addicted crack/crank ho's....i am finally aging gracefully

we can't stay young forever...however being young at heart

its a lot of work trying to look thirty all your life...there is nothing more pathetic as those that have excessive cosmetic surgery...and i am looking forward to being a normal dirty old man

gotta go dye my hair and beard

Genetics for sure, but lifestyle certainly contributes to a youthful look... avoid the sun, don't smoke, drink lots of water. People normally take me for 7-10 years younger than my age, and I love it! But, I don't have any secrets to share for a youthful appearance. :o)

Ok I've been told I always looked younger than I was. However that meant I was ALWAYS the one being asked for ID in bars even when I was 18-20. It was embarrassing to say the least.

Now I'm 46 and people tell me I look late thirties. It may be flattering to a point but I still would like to meet and date someone in my age bracket. All I can think of is 2 things. Firstly it's obviously part of my genes because my mother looks younger than she is and secondly I was never a sun worshipper. I have also never been a big drinker. Hope that helps.

Same here. I used to be randomly pulled over by police, as when I got my driver's license, I could still pass for 11. In fact, on more than one occassion, I would drive to the movies and by my own "Child's" admission seat.

It's not all it was supposed to cracked up to be, no one would take you seriously, due to perceived age, drinking without remembering your ID was impossible.

I think a good deal has to do with genetics, combined with lifestyle choices, diet and exposure to the sun and other UV rays.

Personally, I will never eat at a fast food restaurant, even if they are "slimming down" their menu. I live for the day that McDonald's is forced into bankruptcy. I also will not let my kids eat in any fast food restaurants, when I am with them, although I don't force vegetarianism upon them. That was my choice to make and it should be their's as well.

Also, it helps to be Gothic, as I am. Have you ever seen a Goth with a tan ? :) Doesn't happen much. I avoid sunlight and the outdoors with a passion. The only time I'm outside is on a shoot, and that is usually on overcast days or most of the time is spent indoors.

Excellent Aesthican, I do not drink, I do not smoke, I have never had children and do not plan on it, I go to the gym and I eat right. I try to take care of myself as best as I can. Not to mention, I just really feel good. I still have room for improvement, and I am working on it. :)

boundandtied - what does having children have to do with aging??? Sorry but I'm just curious as to why you included that. I have 3 children and I get the comments I mentioned above about looking younger.

I just turned the big "50" in Sept.....................I keep it really simple, watch what I eat, drink lots of "Yerba Mate "and "Rooibos " teas, full of antioxidants, only wash my face with water, nothing else and the only makeup I will wear on my skin is a dab of blush. And of course exercise...................I've read some of the past posts and some have stated never having kids, that has nothing to do with it, I've had 5 and it has never aged me.

Who knows? I'd say genetics but everyone in my family seems to look their age? Can't be from a low stress lifestyle as I've definitely had my share! Perhaps the way you deal with it comes into play? I take things in stride and maintain a positive perspective.

I grew up vegetarian and though I do eat animal products and chicken, it is pretty limited. I also eat a lot of "super foods" and very healthy/clean in general.

I'd like to say getting a lot of sleep helps but I certainly don't. I need to however- dark circles look awful and they seem nearly permanent lately!

Staying out of the sun and taking care of my skin contributes as does pride in appearance (maintenance).

I also exercise a lot and do yoga- though I haven't always.

I appreciate life- maybe that helps? I am happy and at peace- most of the time :)

Seems the answers are all that anyone would expect- no big mystery!

Going on what ive been told and experiences i have had I know I look alot younger. Walking down the street at the age of 24 with a toddler in tow and looking about 16 , I was well aware of the dissaproving looks from passers by. Dont worry my friends said one day you will be grateful. Well I can honestly say it has its disadvantages, I tend to attract younger guys which is very nice for the ego and a couple I dated assured me age wasnt an issue for them. But in reality they want children and are not ready to settle at that time and my biological clock is definitely ticking , and from past experience I believe it takes a good couple of years to get to know someone. And at the end of the day I cant afford a nip and tuck every couple of years, cant think of anything worse than suddenly waking up looking your age and your partner looks like hes out with his mother!

As for my lifestyle, have smoked since 21, and used to drink alot at weekends like everyone else, I think its in the genes ! However now i have hit my late thirties am definitely taking better care of myself!

I think I appear to be every bit of my 55 years but I think I have aged well. Staying out of the sun most of my life and moms genetics helped. I also get plenty of exercise.

Good health, protecting my self as much as possible from the sun, diet and exercise, a nice fitting wardrobe and a great spunky attitude is why I haven't aged ;) (No husband or kids may also be a contributing factor LOL). You're only as old as you feel! Although a cliche, it really is the truth!

I am ALWAYS being told I look way younger then I am...but then again I am Canadian and I like my beer..I smoke and tan and dont exercise that much and enjoy junk food now and then..someone once told me that if you have native blood in you (which I do) you will look younger then your white peers...the heredity factor makes sense here..and just so you know I just turned 38

I think women have evolved where they still take care of their bodies and style as they age. Women no longer have to 'give up' at 30. We all live much longer. Once you 'give up' then I think you look older. Until then, I plan on looking nice, dressing nice, taking a little care of myself and smiling.

As for me, I grew up in the sunshine, I smoked for 20 years, drank for a lot of it and still do (not drunk -there's a difference), daily schedule consists of work and play. I was in the Air Force at 17 and out by when I was 21. Only within the last year or so have I started taking better care of myself -quit smoking and it helped me a lot.

For me, I never had kids. Only recently took in a family member teen. I don't feel like I aged because I never had kids to age my thought process and never had to fear for someone else all the time. Just got to enjoy a lot of time and a lot of the world I'm in and enjoy people.

I think you are all crazy, women need to age to keep up to us men! Besides, it's sexier as women age. 30-35 is an amazing age for women to be at! Full of life, genearally know what and where they are going. I'm having a HARD time trying to convince myself to date someone my own age now..

what does having children have to do with aging???

I agree with this statement, actually. I know several women who aged quite a bit after having children. I think it happens because your needs don't get met first, more stress, less sleep....Of course this doesn't happen for every woman, but it does happen a lot.

lol, don't know about TV quality but i keep getting some women messaging me asking if i want a bleeding modelling career...errrr she obviously didn't read my profile first.

Anyway,
life i lived- one of moving from here-there, and back again. ...Think am now settled FINALLY, and can call my gaff, 'home'!. (at 31,maybe not bad going )

Had 3 little ones during my 20's, again in between moving here there and all over

College when i left school- Doncaster art college has was called at the time. High school Hungerhill High, well last two years of High school anyway.

Today?- Taking care of myself, (hiding all pots of lotions and potions when that guy comes round, so not to give any secrets away and getting out and about!
Not sitting on my ass in front of the TV with that bag of crisps or four, or that chocolate cake watching jeremy kyle...!

My mum is now 'just a mum and student ' has the girls say.

I personally think it is all the smoking and drinking. I am just pickled. Just kidding.

To be honest I think the things you do the outside of your body are only about 20% of why people look young. It’s how you live your life. Constant stress and un-happiness take its toll. I live a stress free life for the most part. How do I do that? I don’t give a crap about anything. I focus on my relationship with my daughter because that is the most important thing, making sure she is raised properly, but aside from that I don’t worry about anything.

I could be worried about losing my job in this economy. I could be worried about being able to pay my taxes on my house, which are sky high here in Florida. I could be worried about having to find the money to buy a new car. I could be worried about my relationship with my room mate, “Will he stick around and keep paying rent?” I could be worried about a crap load of things, but I don’t.

If you want to stay young looking face up to the fact that there are things in life you can not control, or things that will cause you too much stress to control (certain relationships, trying to keep a job you can’t) and let those things go. I have found they work themselves out. Do the, “What’s the worse thing that can happen?” scenario. It’s never as bad as you think.

Aside from that, exercise and taking care of your skin is very important :P

Sex as often as possible with a healthy partner.
Genetics
I don't smoke or do drugs
Exercise to keep my weight down
Sunscreen
Good skin care products
Longer hair
I shop in the juniors department to find more trendy clothes
Keep my nails done
SMILE ALL THE TIME EVEN IF YOU DONT FEEL LIKE IT, MOST IMPORTANT
Hang out with younger people
Don't be afraid to get rid of the grey, no reason for a woman to have it unless it compliments her.
No glasses, get lasik asap if you wear glasses, you won't squint as much and can wear cool sunglesses!
