| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/9/2006 8:52:50 AM | Dear Mr. Java,
I've often been mistaken for being in my mid to late twenties - I'll be 35 next month.
I attribute this partially to good genetics (my grandmother looks awesome for 77, she looks more like 55), partially to "fairly" clean living (most of the time!) and a good attitude towards life and others.
The kind of life you live, and your attitude towards life and people, is written all over your face. It's there to see for those who know what they're looking for.
Best Wishes,
Wendy | |

| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/9/2006 11:30:27 AM | | I think it has most to do with what you eat, genetics, working out, keeping your skin moisturized and how you deal with stress in your life. | |
|
| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/9/2006 2:56:09 PM | | I have found that people that live in big cities tend to look older than they should because of the extra stress involved in city living. Also people that lead stressfull lives in general look worse for wear. I have seen a lot of hot 18-20 year olds but as soon as they hit 25 they look 35 and at 35 look 55. Canadian women that live in rural areas look far better than women that live in Boston. Yes our water is better, no nuclear waste and raw sewage and chemicals. At least not as much. | |

| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/9/2006 5:35:29 PM | I'm cool with the not aging thing. I find it's a benefit - people still think I'm 26. I'm going to be 37 in less than a month. I'm just thankful to ma and pa kettle for their genes! | |

| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/9/2006 6:03:14 PM | I'm in my thirties but most people think I am in my twenties...as for genetics...definitely could be a factor although looking at my mom or my sisters you could never tell. I have smoked for over 15 years - definitely not proud of it but I try to take care of myself - I do exercise and I think living in Vancouver for the last 12 years has something to do with it since I got my first grey hair after moving back to Toronto this year. But really - one of the biggest things that I think contribute to looking younger - is not wearing a lot of makeup when you are young...yes...I know that the make-up people say..try this, wear this, it will protect your skin but really I think that putting all of that crap on your face contributes to the aging process rather than reversing it (I could be full of crap here and really, I have never tested this theory but I am sure you will all let me know :) | |
|
| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/9/2006 7:24:25 PM | I don't know about the whole "not wearing makeup" thing, but I've never really worn it. I just am not very adept at putting the stuff on, and not to sound full of myself, but I've never felt a need for it. I've always had a baby face. I've known people who when I was growing up caked it on and they still look young. I mainly chalk it up to genetics - my parents still look very young and they are in their mid-late 70s now. | |

| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/9/2006 8:08:59 PM | I am canadian ...however, do not think it makes a difference. I am told all the time I look much younger than I am. I am mistaken for my childrens sibling my oldest is 16. I am surely detested. LOL!
Stress - deal with it in a healthy way (I suggest yoga) Laugh, sing & dance LOUD - there is nothing like a great belly laugh & good for the tummy muscles Eat healthy - lots of greens & red skinned veggies... water, water, water No Soap - on your skin or face (it kills all ur bodies natural oils)use where u have sweat pores Sun - stay out of it or use strongest sunblock Avoid squinting - always cover ur eyes from sun with glasses (watch those crows feet)

| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/11/2006 8:29:06 AM | | Well friends tell me I dont look my age ,got no idea why really have just turned 46, but its a known fact that as soon as we are born we are aging , age what does it really matter anyway we are who we are and its a sure fact we cant change that. I agree with those who have said there are a lot of folk on fish with pics that just dont seem to fit with the ages given, cant really see the point in putting pics of you when you were years younger or lying about your age, people need to accept you for who you are dont they. | |

| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/11/2006 8:33:38 AM | | They've eaten so many Twinkies that their age has to be measured by half-life. | |
|
| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/11/2006 3:29:19 PM | Most people think I'm ten years younger, but now the forehead furrows are coming. Some people look young for a long time and then...old age hits them like a ton of bricks. Like a lot of you have said it's mostly in the DNA, but eating fish, getting enough rest and exercise, not smoking and drinking exessively, and being outside in the fresh air should help. We actually should get some sun to get enough vitamin D, very important. We were ment to live outside and not spend our lives inside buildings. Just a thought...if I find a younger partner will I feel younger but look older when I'm with her? If I find an older partner I might feel older but look younger next to her. | |
|
| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/14/2006 7:25:26 PM | I'm not sure why I don't age..well, I do...but I've had some people even give me 23 and I'm 36. I think they might need glasses haha. I know I looked older when I was in my 20s but I was overweight and very unhappy. Now I'm thinner, enjoying life and laugh a lot.
People would say my parents look young for their age..so it could be genetics as well. I just know I'm happy with who I am and that's all that matters to me hehe.
Cheers! | |

Or maybe it's just the stronger beer that gives us Canucks that youthful "glow"?
Yeah, and no fake bake. Scarlett | |

| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/20/2006 8:55:35 AM | | well i do exercises often and take care a lot of my skin, as i come from a tropical country we go a lot to the beach there but there are protector lotions for your skin, i NEVER go to bed with out wash my face and clean my make up, drink a lot of water and i love to use special lotions in my whole body lol, take care of what I eat but i think the main thing of looking yourger is the way you look yourself and you feel yourself, i mean is on your mind also, you look as you feel... | |

| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/20/2006 9:00:38 AM | | Be happy to give away trade secrets. Never smoked, never got into drugs, don't eat a lot of fat, don't eat much meat, run, play sports, THINK young (HATE that "I'm so damn old and tired" mentality), never was a club type person, do what feels right for ME. Don't listen to societal stereotypes and expectations about what I'm supposed to be like. I'LL decide. I do have 2 bad habits. Sleeping habits suck and I love caffeine. | |
|
| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/20/2006 3:25:30 PM | | It's all about heredity and luck. I've smoked and drank most of my life and ate whatever I felt like. Most people say I don't look 35 more like 25. Take it as you will but I don't think there is any secret to it, just dumb luck. | |
|
| Why don't you age? Posted: 8/20/2006 9:11:32 PM | We are aging. We just don't look like our parents did at the same ages. Or I am the same age as your mother. If she looks like she has been through a war, you have to wonder what kind of abuse you put the poor woman through. I don't know what a person my age is supposed to look like. But I agree about the neck showing age first. Gotta get me some turtlenecks | |
