Anal Retentive is actually a scientifically defined state of psychosis engendered by a state of thread envy, whereby those with very short threads feel threatened and hit out by voting to delete others' threads. Also manifests in various other forms such as sarky comments and extensive use of quotes boxes!

Unless you are going to have a thread clarity mod that goes around telling people off and renaming all the threads to suit absolutely everyone then you will get accidental duplications now and then.
We already HAVE a forum rule which states that titles should contain key-words.
OT It isn't rocket science, ffs. If you wish to discuss a topic, put as many keywords as you can in the title.
For instance;
"I would like a little help with dealing with a toxic ex" - is perfectly acceptable, as a search of 'toxic ex' will reveal this thread.
However;
"I would like a little help" - would be no fcking use to anyone who wishes to search 'toxic ex'.
I know that the newbies use these pathetic titles, but when experienced posters (like my buddy in the extreme north-west xx) post such titles, I want to scream.

| Thread Titles and the lack of clarity. Posted: 7/29/2007 2:47:29 AM | I thought I would bring this back again as quite a few threads have had titles that have not made any sense recently... arrrrrgghhh.....I feel better now.....
Please read Msg 51 above on how to create a thread with a proper title....

It's impossible to check whether a topic has already been done without a clear title.
If a title isn't clear and stays on the forums then your new thread with a clear title could well turn out to be a redundant subject even though you've done a search.

| Thread Titles and the lack of clarity. Posted: 11/7/2007 7:59:43 AM | just thought I would bring this back again as there have been some good topics to debate on here recently but the thread titles have had no relevance to the subject....
Please read msg 51 again which has been well written by vin4star....

| Thread Titles and the lack of clarity. Posted: 8/15/2008 2:24:36 AM | I thought I would bring back this old thread again just to remind folk....
Some of the thread titles on the forum lately have been pretty crap to say the least..
Please can everyone try there best if you start a new thread to make sure that the title of your thread is relevant to the topic you would like us to discuss....
This will also encourage new people to post on the forum which is important to us all.

Some of you are making thread searches quite difficult for those of us who bother to use them by having crap, rule-breaking titles.
