| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 12:30:10 AM | finding a retard Gm that would trade for Bertuzzi was the hardest part of the deal.
thank god For keenan. trading bertuzzi for a bag of old pucks would have been a good trade for us. we won this trade badly, I am hurting for Keenan right now...
good luck Florida....lol

BUT GOOD LORD he had NO GAME this season.... i don't remeber anything he did that really contributed to the team this year..... he may typically be a stellar player, but this season well i just don't feel like he came to play.... and he gets paid WAY to much to not bring his "A" game along everynight

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 12:35:03 AM | Hey kid wicked:
Thats typical Canucks Management for ya, always thinking without any flipin brains.
Especially trading Bert, was a bad, BAD move.
And if trading Betuzi isn't bad enough, what was worse still is letting Brian Berk go. Hate to say this, but going to, THAT is typical Management thinking. Like Canucks Management needs to get a REAL brain, instead of a Management Brain of D-U-H.
Bert was a hard worker, and cotributed EXTREMELY well for the Canaucks, the only problem was, the D*MN media would never let up on the Steve Moore thing.
Otherwise, Bert is a helov a good player, and a Canucks loss , not Florida's.

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 2:08:12 AM | I don't think holding on to Bertuzzi was an option. To me, it didn't look like he was really having fun playing here, nor was he motivated. Crappy though, because he'll probably go on to have a record year in Florida. That was a no-win situation for the Canucks.
Maybe the management and coaching staff know something about Auld that the public doesn't, but I think trading him was a mistake. Allen had some potential too.
I think they would have been better off going after a decent centre instead of replacing the goaltending. Assuming that one was available.

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 3:05:47 AM | mike johnson & jack mclhargy were fired too.
look for brian burke to scoop up one or both.
bertuzzi for luongo is agreat deal, assuming he'll sign a long turm deal.
allen for krajicek? who? i don't see that being in the canucks favor.krajicek has underachived.
alex auld for.....well,nobody.
we gave up too much for a player that might only be here for a year.
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 7:05:22 AM | | I love... how the canucks are steadily working on thier gag reflex... and then master the deep throat.... Unreal... I dont care.... we need a ton of practice and a better freakin coach. WE lack teamwork.... and yea.. its pretty sad.... GO OILERS! | |
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 7:11:15 AM | | what the canucks need to do is get rid of that moron dave nonis.....hes going to kill the team....that was the stupidest deal u could have done....i know he wanted to get rid of bertuzzi but getting rid of a great goalie and a good defenseman also...we got burned big time....anyway not going to matter as the canucks wont make the playoffs again next year | |
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 7:50:05 AM | | It's so very difficult to remain a Canuck fan...but I will...just because I'm one that doesn't through the baby out with the bathwater, metaphorically speaking. They have been nothing but a disappointment, year after year. Trading Bert, Allen and Auld, I don't think will hurt them and it'll be a wait n' see for whether or not it's an improvement. The Canucks have no where else to go but up...... | |

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 8:29:49 AM | Wow, this forum really shows what playin in florida can do to a player. Everyone has missed the fact that Luongo is considered to be one of the best (sic: NOT PROSPECTS) goaltenders in the league. Sure, we had to give up Auld, who had a stellar year but Luongo will carry the load now, with Noronen, another solid prospect to back him up.
The Allen/Krajicek move was to adjust the team to the new NHL where speed and mobility kills- something Allen doesn't have much of. Furthermore, Krajicek is years younger with a ton of potential.

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 9:25:45 AM | Why do you people keep thinking this is a bad deal? Luongo is a top player in the league, no doubt, there's no reason to think he won't be starting goaltender for Canada at the next Olympics.
Bertuzzi was great in the pre-Moore era, but sorry he's been a cancer since then, on and off the ice. I'm glad he's gone to some division the Canucks won't even see every year. I'm excited about this trade, it shows that Nonis is willing to go for it, rather than get rid of all the money players and rebuild around the Sedins, which was a distinct possibility.
Everybody seems to forget the garbage that the Canucks' top line was shovelling out night after night last season...

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 9:35:35 AM | I'm not a Bertuzzi fan and felt he was dead weight with all the issue that surrounded him. I also felt the negative press was affecting the team and Bertuzzi hasn't truly played well before the incident.
I would have traded the twins along with Bertuzzi and gotten more talent, but this would be another thread topic.
Good luck Bertuzzi, he can play hockey, work on his tan and golf in Florida.
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 10:02:18 AM | keenan said he wanted allen because of his mobility.
krajicek can't hit,score or fight.he's a 7th d-man at best.
and he's only 3 years younger.
luc bordon will be taking allen's spot.jovo's is the one we need to fill.

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 2:05:21 PM | I love it , more dissention in the ranks. Bertuzzi was never going to be the same in Vancouver , They had to get him out of there . Better for both parties . Having Luongo , gives them a chance to win every game, a definite star calibre goalie. Auld was a decent goalie , and better than Cloutier in my opinion , but he'll never be the goalie that Luongo is . I dont think either team got a bettter deal , but it worked out good for both . and brings down the Canucks Cap figure . And , before you start knocking Alain Vigneault , give him a chance . He did a great job with a VERY mediocre Montreal team a few years ago . I cant believe Im sticking up for the canucks , ARGH ! GO HABS GO ! ( they better not make another retard move like passing on Brule for another goalie this year , lol ) | |
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 2:19:32 PM | one thing that needs to be taken into account is that though bertuzzi is a great power forward he didn't play like one last season therefore he isn't worth as much to trade
he didn't put goals away like he has years before and the team still played very solid goaltending has always been an issue, and now that problem hopefully is solved luango has played on crappy teams, and still done pretty well, imagine what he can do with the canucks

|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 3:18:39 PM | The canucks defensive play isn't very good. Admittedly I didn't see that many games last year, but most of the goals I saw couldn't be blamed on Auld.
If you need one of the best goaltenders in the league to keep pucks out of the net, you have other problems that need to be addressed.
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 3:36:12 PM | | Good, hopefully the improved team can at least make the damn playoffs! Bert was not contributing to the team anymore...ship him out! Not sure about the other 2 trades tho doesnt make sense......Jovo will be next Im sure. | |
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 8:28:47 PM | It would have been awesome to pull the trigger on this trade back before the trade deadline. Maybe we coulda done something in the playoffs (not jealous of EDM or anything!) Glad he's gone....he created this dark cloud over all the players all season and it definitely showed. Ever see his reaction to anyone other than Naslund or Kesler/Burroughs when they scored? He didnt give a shite about almost all his team mates. Thats gotta be poisin in the dressing room and on team morale in general. Just wish they woulda taken Cloutier over Auld...I liked Auldy and he woulda made a great backup here. We're pretty strong defensively, so it would be OK if Jovo went, but Id rather he didnt. See how he lifted the team those last couple games of the season! Wow! We have some good talent back there....with Salo, Ohlund, um, Ohlund, that guy from the Ducks, um...som highly touted rookies....Oh crap! Dont go JOVO! | |
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 8:44:59 PM | Bertuzzi is/was just a spolt brat anyhow and totally overrated, they're better off without him...
my 2 cents | |
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/24/2006 9:59:33 PM | | this could be a good trade, providing we get good defense...lets see what happens...maybe we can shake it up...the canucks ROCK.... | |

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/25/2006 4:00:16 PM | Funny how people are split on this more heartfelt emotion than cold hard facts say we lost the trade, if you look at the players and what they are capable of, it's pretty even.
Luongo - Top 5 in the world at his position, but will he sign long term?, if he does we win the trade hands down, if he doesn't and we have to trade him, Rosy Cheeks Nonis had better do it before the season and get something good in return, or their sold out streak will end. Hope he does, we've needed a top goaltender since day 1, when you consider the 2 best we've ever had where let goes from other teams ( Gary Smith & Richard Brodeur, - Kirk McLean doesn't come close so no flameing)
Bertuzzi - Potential to be the best at his position, predict this year he will find his old form out of the pressure cooker of a hockey loving town like Vancouver, he'll relax and do well in Florida, will he ever regain the form he's capable of?....maybe, but don't bet on it, in laid back Florida, will it matter, and will anyone notice?
Allen - Great upside but too fragile, a few knee and shoulder problems have limited his range of mobility, and in the new NHL mobility rules.
Auld - Double A has the "potential" to be a 30-40 game player per season in the NHL, probably never be a 60-70 game man, and be on his game night in night out. A good backup who will help any team as a back uip, but not a starter. Too many soft goals when they needed a brick wall killed the Canucks last year.
