| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/25/2006 5:51:49 PM | I agree with those of you that say we got a good deal....Nonis is just trying to shake thinsg up a bit, cut off some dead weight (ie Bert) sorry but Bert was a great player but ever since the whole Steve Moore incident he just can't seem to move on with his life. Partly because of the fans, partly because of the media abd majorly because Steve Moore and his family are still trying to get millions out of him. So Bert's mind has been elsewhere and will continue to be.....He had a great legacy once and now this is how he is going to be remembered not for the great games or for being a good forward but for making one bad choice in his life. I feel bad for the guy, we all make mistakes and most of us after making a mistake can move on but he just can't move on until we all do.
Luongo was needed...Sure Alex Auld was coming into his own after taking over for Clouts....But Nonis saw that if we wanna have any sort of oppertunity next season we needed a number one goalie again. As much as I like Clouts, I see him leaving as well, Not wanting to play second fiddle to Luongo.
Krajicek may not be well known yet but as somebody else said he is young with a lots of potential....You may just see him make a name for himself up here. I will still be a Canucks fan....I am interested to see how the "new" Canucks will fare as a team with all these changes.

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/25/2006 6:50:56 PM | I hope that this all works out in the Canucks favour, EVENTUALLY.
If not, time to fire the WHOLE MANAGEMENT system.
We gave up too much for a player that might only be here for a year.
Hey Kid, I am with you on that one, the Canucks sure did give up a whole lot, especially too much for a player who might only be here for a year.
However, as said before, and will say again, that is typical Canucks Management System for you.
They have NO brains at ALL, NONE, ZERO, ZIP.
Hate to say this, but going to anyhow, I hope that with Canucks letting Brian Burke go, who we know he is now in Anaheim.
That come this coming year, that it will be Canaucks and the Ducks who square off in the playoffs.
And I hope the Ducks take the Canucks in four straight, so that Brian Burke can get one more last direct laugh at Canucks Management for their stupidity of letting him go.
If only Burke was here, Canucks would not be in the mess that they are in now.
Enough ranting.
Anyhow, on the positive end of it all, just hope that the Canucks can put in a better year this year, even if it is, without Bert.

I doubt you ever saw the joke teams the Canucks had in the 70's and early 80's so I'll accept your vote for Hanlon & McLean, because you never saw the outstanding performances of people like Smith and Brodeur with the anemic forwards and sieve defence, they turned in great games night after night. If you want to get technical Charlie Hodge was perhaps the best goaltender the Canucks ever had, even past his prime he made them almost respectable in their first year.
But whatever KW you seem to take a special glee in refuting most of my posts lately so have at it. I have my opinion and you have yours.

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/25/2006 7:44:20 PM | this was so far the best thing that could have happened to the canucks for next season....yes we may only have luongo for only one season but at least we got rid of the one person that was bringing the whole team down in the dressing room and on the ice....its a great change for both the canucks and bertuzzi....the "incident" was affecting both him and the canucks and he needed a fresh start somewhere else....i kinda wish they coulda traded cloutier instead of auld....a luongo auld tandem would have been exciting.....if they can get a bag of pucks and a 12 pack of sticks for cloutier i hope they take it....hes a great regular season goalie but has proven he can't take the pressure of playoffs and has bad injury luck....plus would he wanna play backup to luongo....i really doubt it....
and as for the ducks beating the canucks in the final....hmmmm couldn't happen unless they change the playoff format....
always have been and always will be a canucks fan....cheers A

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/25/2006 11:15:43 PM | | Now that Bertuzzi is gone ( thank goodness). we have a bonafide #1 goaltender. and the most dynamic duo in the Sedins. The million dollar question is .....Who is Naslund going to pawn the "C" onto? | |

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/26/2006 12:57:49 AM | Ahhh draxxus69:
The good old days of the Canucks, Hanlon and Captain Kirk McLean, and King Richard Broduer.
I remember them, ya, that was a time, Canucks had a GREAT team on the Ice, but, hey, let's also not forget about John Garret in goal for the Canucks. He didn't play that much, but was still a good goalie.
Ya, got to LOVE those good old days of the Canucks. Oh well, lets hope that they can put together a half decent team this year.
Oh, just to go off topic for a moment here, about football, quite the football games on the weekend. Looks like Bomber could finally be contenders this year.
Bomber's defense, beat the living crap out of the Argo's Offense, even though the score was only 16-9 for Bombers.
Enough football talk and rambling. Ya, hopefully things work out well for the Canucks this year.

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/26/2006 1:22:58 AM | hanlon was here before (and during) broduer.
remember hanlon's nickname?
"the franchise"
i saw both of them (and thier backups:bromely,ridley,garret,ellecott,caprice,heinz....)play countless times.never did see hodge or smith,so i'll take your word for it.
broduer had a couple good seasons here and one OUTSTANDING playoff run.he changned the way i played in goal.
and i'm not "refuting" anything dude.but sometimes you type faster than you think.lol.

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/26/2006 12:29:36 PM | | I guess I am in the minority - I am devestated that he's been traded! Especially trading him without even signing Luongo!!!!! I hope it works out well for the Canucks and Todd, if not - I'm moving to Florida!!! | |
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/26/2006 3:38:08 PM | WHO'S BERTUZZI???

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/26/2006 4:30:40 PM | | luvdiva, you can join me as I plan for a special farewell party for Bert. I don't think his wife will care for it though :( | |

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/26/2006 6:01:22 PM | | Hate to see Auld go.Loungo isn't really a proven NHL"r and he's never played a playoff game.Auld has. They should have thrown in Cloutier instead cause he won't play back up to Loungo anyway.I hope Auld comes back to haunt the Canucks. All this mess is Crawford's fault for being a shitty, gutless, pansie of a coach who should have instructed his players not to retaliate against Moore on that infamous night,or they would be fined and that Bertuzzi incident wouldn't of never happenned.Crawford's probably the one that instructed his player(s) to get Moore.Crawford should have been fired before the lockout. | |
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/26/2006 9:06:03 PM | Now this is a team almost worth cheering for...
just package Clouts and Bmo for a top 6 forward and i like the direction this franchise is taking...oh ya sign the whole 2nd line and Jovo and well they look pretty decent.
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/28/2006 2:40:29 AM | Born and raised here in Vancouver (one of the 3%)... ...and have never been a Canucks fan....
BTW, you heard they're changing the Franchais name right? ...to the Vancouver Tampons... ...they only have one string... ...and they're only good for one period.

6 million first year for luongo IN YOUR FACE
| |
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/30/2006 7:00:31 AM | | Good Trade in my mind because all the Canucks needed was a solid goaltender and now they got one. Gave up Bert, but that's the price to pay to pick up a goalie like Luongo. Should've sent Cloutier instead of Auld but on the other hand, Auld is the better goalie and will be the #1 in Florida. Cloutier has always been just a backup. | |

Posted: 6/30/2006 7:26:17 AM | | I agree with everyone who says we should have sent Cloutier instead of Auld,.....but think about it, Cloutier was injured in the last playoff run, then the strike, then injured early in the season again, so A: injury prone, and B: hasn't played much hockey in the last 2+ years, would you want him?, Florida was smart to want Auld not Cloutier, and no Doubt Nonis tried.

| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/30/2006 5:15:21 PM | hey jojo
start running your mouth when krajicek signs for the 5 million you claimed he was making. luongo's asking price of 6 million was never debated.
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 6/30/2006 6:05:30 PM | hahaha hello obviously a hindsight on my part 5 million for for pucks sakes! hello crosby doesn't even make that much hello hello hello
\well i'm damn excited about Luongo! He's not very handsome though
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 7/1/2006 1:31:04 AM | | crosby isn't making much.the nhl has a max amount you can pay a rookie. | |
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 2/15/2007 4:33:29 PM | | I've counted 17 knobs in this thread that think trading Bertuzzi was a bad idea. I sentence you to a lifetime of sucker punches to the back of the head. | |
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 2/15/2007 4:46:53 PM | ha ha ....Bertuzzi would look good under my 5 gallon glass of beer. The biggest paid COASTER on the west coast. When Clouts or Auld were digging the puck out of their net, BIG BERT would be just crossing centre ice.
Don't just watch the puck people. Thats what Little Tyke hockey players do.
|
| Bertuzzi traded! Posted: 2/15/2007 5:24:13 PM | Damn I like going back to read my comment on this trade when it first happened
Good trade .... Bert disapperas too much and Luongo is the type of goalie that can steal you games
