But I stand by what I said about you buying into the idea that women feel a culturally imposed need to look younger than they actually are. Why else would you be so eager to let the world know that you do not look 45, as if 45 were a horribly politically incorrect age to be. (it is)
But you are not alone. Most of the herd thinks this way.

But....I REFUSE !!! to get into a pissing match with you because you have your own interpretation of what I said. You can write whatever else you wish to but I will not acknowledge another thing you write.
have a nice life ! | |

| Photos and the older person! Posted: 9/18/2006 11:21:31 PM | I am not the enemy!
I looked at your profile. You are a real woman, with real values. I tried to write you, but I am the wrong gender.
I only tried to point out that we are all victims of our youth-worshipping culture, and maybe you bought into it. It is so insidious that sometimes we are unaware that we have been co-opted.
Yes, you are beautiful, but you are so much more!
You don't need to say that you look younger than you are. Be proud of who you are, and what you are and, yes, how old you are...

Even though my opinion is that yours is wrong...lol...sorry had to get that one there *smiles*
pleased to meet you Heinlein *smiles*

I refuse to even dye my hair to hide the gray hairs. I'm who I am..I'm what I am and I make no apologizies for that. I'm proud to have made it to this age, I don't hide my age and I've earned every ache and pain and gray hair that I have so I wear all of it with pride.

I dye my hair every month - a different color - and because my white hair looks like someone spilled paint on top of my head - no white anywhere else - just a big splotch of white paint right top - been that way for years.
As for looking younger than I am - I just turned 50 and most people go through the "my, you don't look 50!" or "My grandmother is 50 and all she does is garden." - as I drag another guy up on the dance floor. Each person is an individual and ages at different rates - you should be proud of your self regardless of age - I have managed to survive everything life as thrown at me by myself and still stand tall.
Congrats, ChaoticDreamer, on not buying into society's garbage.

| Photos and the older person! Posted: 9/19/2006 4:29:09 PM | Is there an "Aging for Dummies" Book?
Since it's always said people look "young" or "old" for their age, I would like to see the pictures of what every age is supposed to look like.
Thank you, Colin

| Photos and the older person! Posted: 9/19/2006 7:51:34 PM | I had a guy email me once...looked really good, but so young....The picture had an airbrushed quality to it, anyway I emailed him and told him he was wayyy too young for me..he looked to be about 20...come to find out, when he wrote me back, he said he was 77 years young and that was the only picture he had. **shakes head on that one. | |

| Photos and the older person! Posted: 9/20/2006 6:05:36 PM | LOL, I love the profiles with a pix and then a description saying they look younger than they are. Well, even with my bifocals I believe I can make a conclusion by the pix they have on there, or maybe the pix is 20 years old! | |

| Photos and the older person! Posted: 9/20/2006 9:22:49 PM | my pics are from 2000 to this summer...you can tell which is which by the hair loss! I had a somewhat extended e-mail relationship with a lady on this site a few months back...claimed she was close to my age with blonde hair....but the pic was obviously much younger with black hair...she said her son convinced her to use that pic...now, months later, same pic till up for her! I'm wondering if any guy from this site ever met her face to face, and what the REAL deal is! | |

| Photos and the older person! Posted: 9/21/2006 12:57:39 AM | | How true you are vrp. People get your head out of your butts. You can't stop age so lets be honest and post a pic. that is up to date. I renew mine every three months. Believe or not but I can see a change. I love you all but lets be real here and not fool any one any more OK? | |

| Photos and the older person! Posted: 9/21/2006 2:18:51 AM | Well I'm 1yr older than my photo, I have not hidden that fact at all. Some of us, MYSELF, are just not into the computor stuff.
My sis did this one for me, she has all the fancy stuff, BUT she also lives 6hrs away, lol, and it's just not worth me drivin for some silly picture.
I am who I am, either someone likes what they see or they don't, does not matter to me, all my parts are where they are suppose to be, and I have no extra parts, well maybe some extra padding, but there again I have not kept that a secert either.
The biggest thing that bugs me, "Got any different pics, can't see your face" LOL, well excuse me, what the heck drew you in enough to even write?
Oh well, some look, some don't...........Salaveeeeee
