The thing of it is, anyone can say...any...thing......
I will be 60 in a few months; haven't changed a bit in the last 9 months!

In the picture he had dark hair and a beard and moustache, very dignified. In person, balding grey unkept hair, one day growth of beard. (He was a very angry person too.) He also wore an old shirt and wrinkled shorts and running shoes that looked like he pulled them out of the attic! He lied from the get go! I wouldn't meet with him again, not because of the way he looked, but because he LIED about everything! The truth is so important. Put yourself out there as you are, if someone doesn't like the way you are, too bad! Move on! I truely believe that 'honesty is the best policy'. There is someone out there who will like you for who you are and not what you look like. It is a pity that people make a decision based on someone's picture. (A photo is one dimensional, people have many dimensions!) They may be passing up the best thing that ever happened to them. And always remember, it is far better to be alone than with the wrong person. No matter what you or he looks like. | |

being judged by your photo stinks!
I put photos up and then all you here is comments on your photo (and the one I here when meeting is "Wow, you look like your picture!" So apparently, this must be incredibly rare.).
It might be hard for you guys to imagine, but some people only respond to the pictures. 
-- and on that topic, those of you putting up what may be a current picture and obviously lying about your age is another "you gotta be kiddin' me!"
At this point, I'm not putting my picture up. I want to find a man who can read and write, not just flip through the photos. | |

The women who do that typically be the kind of are basically insecure that they have much more to offer that boobs, or they are just looking for a little wiggly-wag.
Fact is you don't have ANY photos posted. Men writing to your personality and trusting your word that you are not a schnauzer?
Facts is facts. You need photos to draw interest. You want to say it's shallow for men to be that way, feel free to say it. But you'll be sitting there with your ideals and an empty mailbox.
Now if you meet and that's ALL they care about, that's another story. People in general want to know who they are talking to.

And unless your on here to be just a tease or looking for intimate encounters, show your entire body and not just your assests. I've seen far too many pics of boobs and asses with a profile that reads..."if you just want sex keep looking"...WTF? And yes, recent photos are great. As we age, our looks may change every year? We just dont think they changed. | |

After one drink, I had to fight him off for the rest of the night! My cat stared malevolently at him the whole time, and finally decided to bite him on the foot. (The cat has never bitten anyone else!)

But I believe in honesty and I had changed my hairstyle and glasses and lost wt so thought it only fair to try to put the "truth" up there. Not everyone is goofy enough to take their own picture..lol. And it sounds so vain to ask someone to take pictures of you (esp when you hate the camera)...So maybe its just not deception...but lack of new pics....??? or not...lol | |

However, I just read a profile of a man who was 60. The photo of the chap posted was no more than 30 at the oldest so, what's up with that? I would rather not see a photo if all one can post is one from 30 years ago (or a net pic because that's what it looked like).

I was 100% sure that you'd pull out the "shallow" defense....
I don't even know if you are a woman until I see you. I have had "funny" men in drag send me photos posing as women, complete with Adam's Apple.
You have a lot of men chatting with you. I am proud of you and congratulations. I also see you are still on POF. They will stop chatting soon unless they see that there is eventually something in it for them.
Wanting to know who I am talking to does not make me shallow. Though someone with condescending attitude issues like you have will never accept that I am who I am and not preach to me about being shallow. I don't know you and I never will. Applying your logic, I could say that you are shallow for not throwing yourself at a wonderful catch like me. (That was sarcasm, as I have learned I need to point out.)
Your photos may be honest but until I would see a photo and then see you in person I do not know that. I am free to question people's integrity should I choose to do so. It's called watching your back.
Case in point? You sure that photo is me? Are you even sure I am male? Are you sure I am in Ohio? Are you sure I am the age that is listed?
Do you have ANY idea how many phony profiles are on here?
All of you need to chill and stop being so thin skinned and defensive. Jumping to the defense of ALL Canadian men because someone made a humorous and wry comment....

I'm 46 and i have pics up taken 2wks ago, and yes alot of responses, but u can pick out the ones u know that r interested in u and not the body and i know when the lights r out they may not be able to see me but they r listening to me.
