OMG is that your brother or are you using 2 id's ...?? 2 profiles .. totally different info .. and the same pic? ... so i emailed both! .. one got totally defensive called me a buncha names and said "ya like thats your pic!" lol (it is my pic!) (ok not the mermaid)! .. Now the other guy was more honest in his response .. rude as he was .. he was honest about his situation! .. He told me i was niaive to think that guys posted pics of their real selves! .. he had gotten his off the net .. he didn't even know who the pic really belonged to!!! Eeeeeeeeeek!! crazy internet world !!
I've met a couple guys that i'd "met" first in here .. tsk tsk tsk ... i'm almost certain one was looking for the wrong gender!!! and the other? .. not even close to the age in the pic he has online!!! my first thought was OMG he looks like my grandfather! .. looked about 20 years older than his pic ... that kinda freaked me out!
And .. no .. its definitely NOT all about looks .. however .. there is an honesty issue here .. if you post pics of your younger self or worse of someone who isnt you on your profile .. then as far as i'm concerned .. You are dishonest. One guy told me that women wouldn't talk to him if he posted a recent pic .. I told him that i won't talk to him cuz he's dishonest. Blahblahblah ..
Its not just women .. and its not just men .. People ... People are either honest or they aren't ...
I live in a small community .. and i thought about that when i posted my pic .. sure its got some gums flappin .. so what? .. i am single .. i want a partner .. i've had no luck where i like to spend my time ... in the woods, on the trails, at the shore .. and even at the grocery store! lol .. i don't do nightclubs .. don't drink .. so this is where i've chosen to spend my time looking for a partner and/or socializing with some of my online friends.. those who see my pic and choose to spend their time in coffee shops gossiping about it .. are not my kind of people anyway! .. 
btw .. sometimes i put up the mermaid pic as my primary pic .. just to keep it interesting .. my real / recent pics are on my profile .. the finger is for the critics!!

A profile does not really show intelligence, humour or compassion. These things have to be learned in person and unhappily men are visual creatures (bless their souls). | |

Photos tell us to stop or leave.. Simple as that!
Once we have stopped, we look at the profile..If they 'match' our particlulat
criteria; We mail..If not; We move on...
One lady suggested posting 'younger' pics..I called her bluff! I put one in of me
when I was 27..
Do I miss my youth? I never lost it! I am as young today as I was
in that photo...
Now; Where is her photo?? | |

Posted: 8/20/2006 4:22:03 PM | I take the photo issue with a grain of salt. You can have a current photo on here, look like hell in front of a camera, and be totally awesome in person. The reverse is also true.
Actually, we should all post our baby pics on here (close up of our face), and a photo of what we look like when we first get up (no combing of the hair - if you've got any). | |

I really can't tell, with any certainty, what a lady is like by a picture or a profile, but, they both help steer me in the right direction.
I have made a policy of not mailing anyone without a photo..May sound harsh, but, after all, we have to do what is best to increase our chances here.. A good photo is just a welcome addition to the 'bait'... Bob... | |

If you want to include older pic's showing your activities or interests, fine, but we see the primary photo first. Honesty is the situation here. If you say you have a few extra pounds, and the photos clearly show much more than a few, how can one believe anythings else you say?
