We just seem to be taking to ever-new extremes via social pressure.
Alan Watts, the British philosopher, wrote an essay in his book, Cloud Hidden Whereabouts Unknown, called; "Do you smell." The essay lamented the loss of naturalism in modern life, and the shaping of "acceptable" sensuality by the church. He suggested that the church wasn't too comfortable with men and women being aware of scent, and smelling each other. It too closely mimicked animal behavior. Watt's illustrated in language that the word "smell" has come to have a negative connotation. To say, "he smells" without further expansion or clarification means, "he smells badly." "I can smell her across the room", means, "her smell is bad". In essence, where general society is concerned, to emit natural odor at is now a negative. Our sensual ability and awareness has been stifled.

When I was a boy of 11, entering puberty, the older boys constantly talked about the girls p****. Mostly, it was rude and expressed as a negative. I just listened. Smells like fish... stinks, they said.. Where did these boys learn this? Did their mothers and fathers teach them.. or was it a subtle cultural message that the boys picked up? I knew nothing about it one way or the other. I was too young. These older boys shaped my very perceptions.. What they said smelled bad, did smell bad.. I took their guidance as to what was good and what was bad.. Looking back, because of these influences, I'd say it took me many years to accept a womans smell as natural, healthy, and attractive.

Clearly the perfume and odorant industry, particularly as it regards women, has capitalized on our "civilized" sensuality, to the tune of billions of dollars..

So, Movie Writer, I'm in your camp on this one.. When accompanied by normal grooming habits, uncut/unshaven hair and natural odor are attractive and becoming in a woman who chooses to express herself that way..

Call me an animal, but that's my opinion. I love the natural in women.

When it smells like fish it usually indicates a condition known as gardnerella (sp?)....it happens when the natural environment gets out of whack and/or bad hygiene....

An Allan watts fan! There is intelligent life out there.
No man has ever complained about my body hair, soft, smooth, no stubble.
Also about smell, our smell totally reflects what we eat. meat eaters smell more, it's only fair. Meat eaters have to be prediters and announce themselves that way.
Drinking a lot of alcohol causes more smell, as do strong herbs or vegetables.
When I am only eating fruit and salad i smell sweet, naturally.
If I am eating steak and drinking beer, I smell a little funky after a while. Smokers smell too. Bacteria grows more easily in toxic environments. I don't think really healthy people smell bad at all. But whens the last century anyone has met a healthy person? too toxic environment.
This shaving thing is just a fad of wanting little girls, and now it seems little boys too, imo. A fad thats been here for 50 years or more, but will probably go away again. In the late 60's to late 70's lots of young women didn't shave. It was seen as silly to do so in a lot of circles, kind of like a sellout.
10 years ago it started with the wild colours and spikes and lizard looks with hair. Heck, people are surgically implanting horns now! To each their own. I'm comfortable with the way I am, and can fit in any environment just fine.

In my personal opinion it just feels better to not have the hair. There is no better feeling then smooth skin ANYWHERE... All girls have experienced having hairy legs and getting in the shower and shaving them. When you rub them together at that point its like magic. Of course, we all have our lazy moments (especially in the winter), but overall there is nothing like soft bare skin.

As for make-up and perfume.. Well... I hate perfume. It stinks and gives me a headache. I think a fruity body spray is just enough and is light and fresh. Much more attractive and much less over-bearing. Make-up I do love though. I hate when girls use it wrong, but used the right way it can make magic happen as well.

I think body hair is disgusting!!!!..
I used to keep a very trim strip on the yammer, but went for a waxing, and she took it off!!!!
I was not overly impressed, but decided that it is WAY nicer, neater, cleaner.. and I wouldn't change back... besides.. who wants to shave everyday.. ???????
YUCK... and facial hair... that can go too GUYS!

Cleaner?? Sorry I shower and wipe just fine. A few tiny hairs is not making anything dirty or stinky. No need for special sprays if you shower daily.

^^ was I referring to you ? ^^ Did I say you stink??

It is a personal preference.. hair tends to trap any odor (take cigarettes for example)..
Most people sweat when they work out hard.. or go dancing.. etc.. PERSONALLY, I like
everything bare.. armpits, legs and Framma-lamma... don't have to try to cover up sweaty body smells with heavy scents like perfume, body spray, etc..... and I haven't heard any complaints... PEACE

I'm not too fond of hair ona girl, but if nice and tidy, thats just fine too ;)

What freaks me out are the increasing number of _guys_ getting leg waxes, chest waxes, eyebrow plucking that rivals many women.... What IS this craze (along with up-turned golfshirt collars, yeesh)???

Please, where are some of these ladies that dont go crazy with the razor? I would like to know. For all of those people who shave everything, If GOD intended our bodies to be bald we wouldnt grow hair. LOL I know i prefer less makup and perfume and alittle more hair where is supposed to be!

yeah I really like a smooth pair legs and kitty.... sure is a lot less abrassive on the ol tongue that's for sure.

Of course if I was on a three month camping trip with a female partner, and n'either of us remembered to bring along a shaving kit... well then I guess I'd have to accept a more down to earth kinda of woman out of her huh!

I shave every strand of hair I can get my grubby paws on, with the exception of my head. I may have evolved from apes, but I don't have to acknowledge it.

I second that sistah! Only difference is some areas get waxed and some areas get tweezed.

Gee, maybe it's an age thing, maybe it's a "time" thing, but the worst part for me about looking for someone new is all that leg-shaving ahead *sigh*. (Ever heard Pam Tillis' "I Shaved My Legs for This?")

I hate shaving. No matter how expensive a razor I buy, or how careful I am, eventually I cut myself. Bandaids and bloody kleenex pieces aren't sexy, no matter what you wear with them. Wax? Well, I don't know who the hell had that idea first, but from the ONE time I "indulged" to have it done, I was ready to hunt down the inventor, douse him in honey and tie him to a fire ant bed. (And, yes, obviously, I would imagine it's a 'he')

I don't like perfumes or colognes either. Occasionally something light like "Sunflowers" or natural lavender, but...sometimes I wonder what people are trying to hide under the cloud of odors that surround them. Some of the body washes now are so perfumed that they're strong enough to stick to you, and then people slosh perfume or cologne on top of them. Add to that perfumed lotion, perfumed oil, perfumed hair gel/spray/etc. and my nose hairs start twitching from 30 feet away. (Yeah, I have nose hairs too, although I don't pluck them unless I'm needing some help working up to a good cry...ever noticed those things are attached to the rear lobe of your brain? Damn.) I love the smell of a MAN. That can't be bought in a bottle. Sniffing a man who just stepped out of the shower, after scrubbing down with just plain old soap can melt me to my knees in seconds flat. Sweat's a nice scent too, when it's fresh. And, although I rarely use anything scented, I've been complimented with "you smell nice" by men for whom I was already a sure thing, so they weren't just using it as a ploy to see whether I shaved or not.

I'm not a hippie that trots around with hair hanging out from a tank top, and leg hair you could braid, but...there are some parts of my body that just don't feel comfortable with having a razor or hot wax pointed at them...since those are the ones that determine orgasms and some other quite lovely feelings, I think I'll leave well enough alone and not piss off Mother Nature.

Body hair? No thank you! I mean, not on myself. I shave everywhere I can, minus my eyebrows and head hair. Haha. Oh, and arms. I refuse to do the arms. lol! Forearms, I mean...Not...armpits...

But yeah. I just feel a heck of a lot sexier and cleaner when I'm hairless. I feel a lot more sensual and---"TAKE ME NOW"ish, y'know?

I love a woman that takes the time to shave especially down below, i don't mind a little hair like landing strip etc.. bald is best especially when going down to please her, i hate getting hair in the mouth. And in turn i help out the woman cause i like to receive oral as well so i trim and shave as well.
