| Are you a coffee snob? .. How has this affected your relationships? Posted: 6/24/2006 8:00:45 PM | Loooooooooooove coffee..... HATE Starbucks....lol.... never had Timmie's .... and have only had iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts. I like to buy whole bean flavored coffee and grind it (only in a burr grinder cuz us coffee fanatics know that the blades in a blade grinder heat up thus causing the beans to lose flavor). I'm not a strong coffee drinker but I sure like the flavors (butterscotch or orange seville.... mmmm) . I guess that is weird cuz most of it doesn't really taste like the flavor (just tastes like coffee...lol) but does smell like it..... maybe it's just the "atmosphere" the scent produces that gets to me....lol.... who knows. I will only use half and half in my coffee too... none of that skim milk crap..... bleh.... it turns the coffee grey....ewwwwwwwwwwwww!!!! Regular coffee always tastes burnt or bitter or just plain too strong to me.
As far as being a snob about other things....... I don't buy too many brand name things but there are some I will buy. In alot of cases.... you get what you pay for.
And being a coffee snob has never affected my relationships. Well.... I suppose it does if they don't have any in the morning...... lololol. I'm not a morning person to begin with so me in the morning with NO coffee???? YIKES!!!!!!

| Are you a coffee snob? .. How has this affected your relationships? Posted: 6/24/2006 8:07:43 PM | I haven't had dunkin donuts coffee in years either lol! So you most probably right that it sucks. Just pointing out that it was there before all these other places :)
As I'm not a coffee drinker at all, it might explain my confusion or aversion to these places?
Yep, the coffee was old! I couldn't believe it! It's one of those stories that make ya laugh.
I like to have an expresso now and then if I go to an italian resto, otherwise I stay away.
Besides, caffeine eats your insides (another joke).

| Are you a coffee snob? .. How has this affected your relationships? Posted: 6/24/2006 9:04:01 PM | Oh, yes. I am the worst coffee snob on here. I only drink Dean's Beans or the Fair Trade, organic, shade grown coffee. I am really picky about my coffee. For years, I didn't even LIKE coffee until I tried this delicious stuff, and to this day I will only drink the best. Sorry if you think I am snooty for it but once you've had Dean's Beans or other fair trade coffee you will notice the huge difference in taste. It's more natural because fewer chemicals are used in the process, and growing in the shade does some good for the coffee beans. See you at the local coffeehouse!

Cheers (raising cup of Deans Beans up to all those reading this)

| Are you a coffee snob? .. How has this affected your relationships? Posted: 6/24/2006 9:08:09 PM | Nope, not a coffee snob. More like a coffee addict (and chai tea). I will drink coffee from just about anyplace!! Don't think that it ever affected any relationship I had though lol OH! Ok, it did in a positive way I guess, my ex didn't drink coffee, but bought a coffee pot and kept coffee on hand so I would stop running out of his place as soon as I got up for my fix lol
Now, I am a height snob, that HAS affected my relationships, or at least finding one ;)

yes I understand there are better cups of coffee, the people I hate though are the ones that make a huge deal out of it. IE make you drive across town to go for coffee at this 'one special place'

| Are you a coffee snob? .. How has this affected your relationships? Posted: 6/24/2006 11:07:12 PM | There's a big difference in being a coffee snob and being a furnishings/car snob. Those things don't mean much to me, but I am a HUGE, tremendous, outragous music snob. If you don't like the tunes I'm playin', ....just leave this long haired country girl alone!
I'm a hard rockin' country girl... and you can just back the heck OFF!

| Are you a coffee snob? .. How has this affected your relationships? Posted: 6/25/2006 4:36:01 AM | I've never heard of Dean's Beans...so I will have to try it. What's a burr grinder? If it will make my coffee taste better I ll get it! Maybe.
Yeah, its my opinion that Dunkin Donuts has gone way downhill. The DD around the corner from me seems like it would be very convenient, hit the drive through and go! But the drive through takes forever so last time I ran in- having 5 minutes. Took 20 minutes in line because people get gobs of donuts but are wishy washy deciding which. Sorry to say, but the DD workers looked hideous, right off the street and a tad unsanitary. Then they were rude. I dont think I am being a snob preferring someone handling my food to look neat and clean. Then the coffee was horrible. I didnt mind wasting my money as much as wasting precious time (and being a bit late) plus I couldnt drink that coffee!
I would much rather have coffee black than add milk. I have to have half and half!! But a dear friend of mine makes coffee with half milk and froths it. Its not bad the way she makes it, but sometimes I need a real cup! If I am a guest, I never state my preferences unless asked, and take what is served. A person's feelings are much more important than having coffee my way.
That reminds me, I guess I am a manners snob. Including the dinner table. It has affected potential relationships. If I go out with a guy, and he has bad table manners I am less impressed. Good manners mean you are considerate of others, and that's very important to me.

Posted: 6/25/2006 11:39:17 AM | When you're at sea, watching the darkness and aloness of the night watch turn to faint light of another day, there isn't such a thing as a bad cup of jo. Of course I always stock quality coffee. And no, it hasen't affected my relationship with the sea, she's still my first love

| Are you a coffee snob? .. How has this affected your relationships? Posted: 6/25/2006 11:59:18 AM | Definitely a coffee snob.
Starbucks is overrated. So is Timmy's.
I'd rather have Dunkin Donuts.
Actually, I'd rather have the black sludge you find at most gas stations that is supposed to resemble coffee but comes out looking like road tar...
No, I am not a snob.
Although I will insist to the day I die, that Black Straight Egyptians and Bay Stallions are the best horses out there.
