Posted: 7/16/2006 6:29:27 AM | WOW!!!! Were we all at the same place? I don't remember anyone w/ a mullet, and I see nothing wrong w/ acid washed jeans or a polo shirt, people wear what make them comfortable.
I'm sorry some ladies were mean to you Congadude, no one deserves that.
But I'm going to speak for myself also. I met a wonderful crowd of people last night, and had one of the best times I've had in years. I enjoyed it tremendously and "I" would do it all over again in a heartbeat. There are so many people that came from out of town, and I have to say it sucks for me, because I think if we lived closer, we could be great friends.
This is how I remember "MY" night.....
Kitkat - I think you are just one wonderful lady, why you are single, I have no idea!!!! You made me laugh, and were so kind.
Mswindinmyface - You are just drop dead gorgeous, please get those pics fixed.
Redtauri - You girl, are just hilarious, sweet as can be, and you helped me out BIG TIME.
I won't forget it.
Jheld - Thanks for the dance. You are awesome, even w/ my 3 left feet. And thank you also for all you did.
Sandy - Sure wish we could have talked more.
ClearwaterM - UPDATE those photos, too!!!!!
Jerryintampa - Awesome.... Glad to have met you.
Dog - Sure hope you made it home okay!
Joey - "MAMA MIA"!!!! If I wasn't the luckiest girl there, I don't know who was. So kind, caring, and did I say "MAMA MIA". I felt like Cinderella. I'd take my own slippers off for you!
I was in a world of my own, and only had the chance to speak w/ others for a short time, I may not have mentioned you personaly, but every one I met or talked to, were so darn nice.

It seems no one is able to commit. The hostesses and batenders knew nothing about our party or get together. If you are announcing events of the future for so long, it seems you would commit to your event. How can so many people not commit? You suck. | |

Perhaps you were not paying attention to the 21 pages of posts about this party. The party was moved to a different location, good, bad or indifferent I don't think you would have had a good time! I obviously couldn't make it .... not sure if that was a good thing or not now.
I don't do loud smokey bars either....so missing that part is a good thing. I would have liked to have met up with everyone if anything to make new friends. The girls all seem great! (I don't mean it like that).

I'm not a smoker and only a social drinker, but I hope that I have left with a lot more friends. Life is not always perfect, so if you don't want to go along with the bad, as well as the good, THEN STAY AWAY ! Some of us will be inconvienced to meet new people, but I cherih each new person I meet ! Sure hope I didn't meet you ! Thanks to all the NICE people I did meet ! Hope to do it again !  | |

Posted: 7/16/2006 8:48:23 AM | Had a great time, met a bunch of great people, sorry a couple had a bad time, but like the old saying goes, you can't please everybody, can't say fun was had by all, but I'd say easily 95% had a great time. For the people wanting a non bar thing we've got a pot luck picnic in the works down here in the Ft Meyers/Labelle area, but first a bowling thing in Ft Meyers, that should also please some people, but again not everybody. So keep watching for them, one way to be in the know is check my forums. The bowling will happen real soon, maybe next weekend.
Got home at 4:30 was well worth the long drive would do it again in a heartbeat. Personally I was quite happy with the place, the heat was a problem, but if there is dancing, I'd be soaked with sweat if it was 30 degrees outside. I could also do without the smoke, and I don't drink to get drunk but I also understand if your in a bar your going to have smoke and there will be some drunks and when people get drunk there will be altercations. Either deal with it like the proverbial water off a ducks back or stay away. It's your choice, I prefer to be where the action is, even if there is some action I would wish didn't occur.
Glad to not have 30 some pounds of mardi gras beads, and have some great memories to replace them. Met somebody that I think is going to be a great friend and it turns out grew up 15 miles from where I did. Maybe might even be more than just a friend, time will tell. She started out saying she can't dance, certainly didn't finish up that way.
The games I suggested, were never attempted, I don't think most of the crowd would have been receptive, I didn't hear anybody ask about them. I think that in order to do something like that, it would need to be started more as an after dinner and before a dance situation, in the lull between 7 and 9 kind of thing and with this party we never had that lull.
Also I'm always looking for a great place to dance county western, not the big city line dance places with a cover and the urban cowpies, just the small local hangouts with good music and a good dance floor, so if your in the know about a place like this, please pass it on. It's no wonder why some people are single other than by choice.
What I saw was a bunch of beautiful people enjoying themselves.
Mean people suck. I didn't meet any. Everyone that I met was extremely cordial.
And even though I didn't take a head count...I think that the ratio of women to men was 50/50 or better. The smoke was a bit heavy. And I contributed to that. If we do it again, we'll get an industrial fan to suck it out of there. This was a trial run for all of us. Personally,
I thought it kicked ass. But, next time I guess I'll have to wear my tux instead of my Buffet shirt and cut-offs. Christ...some peoples kids.
Michelle did one hell of a job. Hands down. Great gal. Lot's of great help from other members, too. And Doc worked very hard to accomodate us. Thanks, y'all.
I'm sorry for dancing. lol Dork to be sure. lmao But, at least I didn't sing.
And my oh my.....Mulberry sure is fine.:D | |

I suggest having a meetup on a beach, park, field etc. The largest most talked about parties seem to happen there! | |

Kitkat--a very sweet lady but damn woman why are you still single? You are a wonderful person and I want to say thanks for the laughs. I will say you know how to just go out and have fun.
Bachelorsheaven--very sweet, nice person that I am glad to have met as well, funny and all around fun person. You done good with taking over and thanks again for making this happen.
Congaman--nice guy, he does like to dance but damn man try to loose the bounce next time lol j/k. I know everyone has their own style of dancing but those slow dances of yours you need to loose the bounce to make it easier for one to follow you. OH conga, you need to update your pic
Mswindinmyface--I agree with bachelorheaven, you need to update or redo your pictures.
Brawnydog--you are crazy lol. Alot of laughs and one who apparently seems to like having a good time. One ? for you though LOL. When did you turn into Ms. Virginia on us last night? LOL Dog, you need to get up on the dance floor next time a little more or Kat and I will drag ya up again lol.
Sandman-- I can not believe you drove all the way from Gainsville just to shoot pool lol. Thats ok, was still nice meeting you and maybe next time at a get together if Kat is there and you are there also she may be able to pull you up on the dance floor.
James--forgot screen name lol. was nice meeting you and if you follow what jheld told you about dancing you will learn it and you can stop saying you have two left feet lol.
Jerry--I hope you hang on to those white beads you had me looking for lol. Sorry I didnt see them the first time around but you cant say you didnt get any lol. Was nice meeting you.
jheld-- I am glad you had extra shirts with you last night lol. I know how you are on the dance floor and it looked like you were having the time of your life. Next time I tell you keys are hooked on belt loop and you need them just reach over and unhook em. You wont get slapped I promise lol.
To the others I did not mention or say names, it was nice meeting you all. I did have a good time last night. I know I am a smoker attempting to quit and yes I agree it was smokey in there last night. But all in all I still had a good time. Met some nice ones last night and I did enjoy myself
Thanks bachelorsheaven for taking over while one was away to make this happen. You done good  Maybe we can get you down this way for one of the get togethers down this way in the Ft Myers Cape Coral area.

I hope everyone got home safe. I just arrived home to melbourne and boy am I tuckered out. I have to go dog sit later but they have a hot tub... life is good. Hey guys.... about the confusion about the place, I actually called the alehouse and asked the hostess to please leave a message w/the bartenders in case anyone went there. I guess she "forgot" to deliver the message. I called them around 7:30pm... go figure, guess you can't depend on people to deliver a simple message huh.

Posted: 7/16/2006 2:31:55 PM | A little crowded for my tastes, but that's just me. The more people, the quieter I get... so I pretty much just stood in the corner for awhile and then went home. I prefer smaller get togethers in a park or something, but to each his/her own.
Most everyone seemed to have a great time. The organizers did a great job.  | |

Where else could you go to meet such a diverse group of people. I sat it the corner where there was a fan and drew a lot of people over there for a little breeze. Some even paid to stand in front of the fan!!! It was a hoot and I made $2!!! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to pull this off. I wonder if there is any way to find out if this meet is in the running for the most attended POF event??? There is another planned in Jacksonville in August. You may want to check that one out. The last I looked there were 50+ people attending. Hope to see some of you there. | |

Right now I am currently trying to get them all uploaded to my yahoo photo album which at the moment is not cooperating with me to well.
Again had a good time in Lakeland and now sort of anxious to find out how the one we would like to start in Ft Myers Cape Coral area would turn out.
