OP -- it has jack shit to do with love being blind, or 20/20. It has to do with marketability, and as long as there's a market for it, with eager consumers willing to sheck out hundreds of dollars for stuff that's worn for maybe 15-30 minutes maximum at any given time...this is why lingerie is so popular.
Men buy it for their mates because they think it looks sexy. Women buy it for themselves and for their mates because A) they think their men like it, or B) it makes them feel sexy personally and who doesn't like to feel sexy?
I appreciate lingerie on my woman, but I won't be in a rush to expect her to wear any, nor would I be in a rush to buy her any. It's a nice treat on occasion, but really, it's just window dressing. I've had a few that have worn lingerie in the past, but my ex fiancé stands out the most. She had a lacy slip type piece that she used to break out when she was feeling the mood. Nothing special about it, it just felt good to her and looked good...and I thought she was stunning in it. On those nights that she did wear it, the sex was "different". I'll admit that. Perhaps to her, she felt sexier wearing it? Who knows. She looked damn good in a corset too though...mmm. lol
Where was I.......? Oh yea, lingerie is nice to see and everything, but for the most part I couldn't be bothered with it. More often than not it just ends up in a pile at the foot of the bed anyways, so why spend that kind of money for something that gets 15 minutes viewing time? That's like buying a Porsche or Ferrari, but only driving it down the driveway, once a week, and only when it's sunny. What's the point?
I'd much rather be with someone who can feel sexy without accessories involved, or additional wrapping. Someone who's sex appeal is not limited to what she's wearing. Someone who's comfortable in their own skin enough to feel sexy without a stitch of clothing on. Lingerie, garters, stockings...they're nice and visually appealing, but not necessary.
Sometimes more a crutch than anything.

For me, lingerie is a TOTAL **WASTE**. A woman looks her BEST when she is TOTALLY NUDE. Face it, when she is BARE and has NOTHING to hide, there is NOTHING better.
OK, perhaps this, ropes tying her wrists and ankles to the bed. I will have to admit, THAT is a HUGE turn-on. Ropes will do it for me. But lingerie has NO effect. She may as well be fully clothed, for my concern.

Who likes wearing sexy lingerie becasue it makes her feel sexier.
Or who likes going nude because her lover PREFERS it that way.

"Dog Ugly"? Wow, if I even KISS her, then she is GALAXIES away from being "Dog Ugly". If we kiss, we go for it all, if she is willing. If there is a KISS, there is NO "Dog Ugly", and she need have NO concern about that.
In that way love is blind. Or , more accurrately, the guys eyes play tricks on them.
Most folk have IMPERFECT bodies. NO woman I have EVER dated has what I would call a perfect body. I judge more on ATTITUDE than on the so-called "perfect body". True, her body and face have MUCH to do with my desire for her, but I have seen a woman's ATTITUDE **RADICALLY** override what I regarded as a fat slob. Yeah, that happened, and I was COLD SOBER at the time. So was SHE. I think what did it for me, though, was that her face was almost angelic, and her ATTITUDE was, without saying it, "I will be your slave. I will do anything you wish at any time."
That attitude, AND her FACE, twisted everything in her favor.
I will say this, I get weak in the knees over a woman who proclaims TOTAL submissiveness and then FOLLOWS that claim with IRREVOCABLE and DEMONSTRABLE **ACTION**. She then becomes my love-slave, but by her decision she has locked me in to HER life.
The CATCH, however, seems to be the PERMANENCE of the mutual desires. In MY case, the WOMAN'S desire wanes FAR quicker than mine.

OK, I suppose I can go along with THAT. It makes HER feel sexy, BUT, it makes my ATTRACTION to her any stronger by ANY means.

OK, I MUST agree with that. ANY woman I have EVER fvcked THOUGHT she was VERY **SEXY** at the time. And she was RIGHT!!!! She WON her wish SIMPLY **BECAUSE** of her ****ATTITUDE****!!!! Or, should I say, **BATTLE-TUDE**.
If she wants me and I FAIL to show any signs of reciprocity, SHE turns up the heat, because rejection is NOT on HER menu. Now, TRULY, what DOES she do? TRULY, I do NOT know, but she DOES crank up her SEXUAL desirability, at LEAST to arouse MY interest.
Truth to tell, it doesn't take much to arouse my interest. If she consigns herself to be my sex slave, she has fairly well WON my devotion to her. She has NO fear of me going beyond her to satisfy my desires as long as she is compliant. Now, if she FAILS me, my fidelity MAY be up for question. But then, I have NEVER had a woman satisfy me in accordance with my desires, at least on a consistent basis, so this may NEVER be a problem for me.
I STATE my desires at the outset. Disagreement merely in hypothetical terms really accomplishes nothing. What a woman SHOWS me MAY accomplish something, even though MOST women seem to rely on the powers of telepathy, which MOST men do NOT have. | |

Give me a good old pair of plain white all cotton panties and a plain white "wife beater" muscle shirt (the ones that come three to a pack on the men's side) and I'm happy.
But am I sexy? Well now let's see...that depends on what some people consider sexy AND whether they think an old grandma wearing a wife beater is sexy (or not).

Then they're really not gonna stay on long enough to really enjoy my full admiration.
To me, they serve more as that little plastic window on the cake box!

I love to wear the silk, the lace, the dresses and skirts with my stockings and garters, slips, matching bras, etc. I love knowing that I am wearing things that feel good on me, it makes me feel good. What fun is it being a woman if you don't have fun wearing the lovely things made to wear?
I am not going to deny that I love when a man appreciates that I do wear lingerie.
So many women in this area wear jeans every where. I just don't get it. They feel like they don't look right wearing other clothing. It has gotten so that there are very few restaurants that you don't see blue jeans in. I hate hearing "jeans are just me." It isn't a matter of cost, jeans are often more expensive than a cute skirt. For some reason the 20th century started women changing their mindsets from wanting to wear silks and lace to wanting to look like one of the boys. Not all women, just seems like there are more and more in my area. I guess it is different in the cities. They also have nicer stores where I could buy fun things, thank goodness for the internet shopping! | |

I know a lot of heavy women wear it to make themselves feel better during sex. My mom for instance has TONS of it because she had a gasteric bypass and doesn't feel comfy being completely naked. Then again her boyfriend requires her to wear high heels during sex.
I think it's a half an half thing. Some men LOVE lingerie, because it's sexy, soft to the touch, and plays into a fantasy; and some women love it for the same reasons as well as it's ability to disclose what you don't want seen.
Then again there are others out there who prefer to be in the buff the entire time.
Wouldn't it be funny if men had to wear male lingerie every time we wanted to have sex? They'd give up more than likely LOL, just like if men gave birth, the world would end LOL.
I think if a woman feels confident and sexy in her bare skin, then lingerie should only be used as a fun additive to the bedroom. I personally, although I'm a plus size woman, have ALWAYS felt comfortable in my own skin. I enjoy my curves, lumps, and bumps. Heck I even have sex with the light on! Now explain that one... Why would someone wear lingerie BUT have sex with the light off... Doesn't that deplete the purpose... LOL | |

I never did understand this one. High heals are meant to accentuate a woman’s legs. Kind of awkward having sex in bed while standing up in high heals I would guess.

I know Princess Di regrets not wearing a slip when she was with her students before she married. | |
