| What foods do you hate?
Posted: 8/9/2006 10:42:54 PM |  Plain boiled carrots even with butter s&p. It gives me the sensation of nails on a chalk board. I can eat them in soup, stews, currey even glazed. I noticed many people said liver, I love it with lots of fried onions and a little bacon, mashed potatoes and gravy. I don't cook it myself, don't like the look when raw. | |

Green Beans..yuck! As a kid we had a huge garden. All summer we ate fresh green beans....all fall we canned green beans...all winter we ate canned green beans. I am now an adult. I don't ever have to touch green beans again!!
Blueberries...tripple ick!! Blue skin that squishes when you bite it..out squirts the mushy insides...oh ick! If the texture wasn't bad enough..there is the taste! oh yuck! You like um? go ahead..more for you! just don't offer them to me!!...

There was a lima and pork soup at a deli, and I didn't even want to smell that, ugh/yuck...Also soy in any form, smell of eggs frying, bitter foods like broccoli. etc....I love wheat, but am allergic to it, can eat some, but am cutting down on it gradually....Not big on pork itself, bacon and ham okay in small amounts, trying to cut down on that too...Beef liver is not a fave either... | |

Posted: 8/17/2006 11:15:30 AM | Hmm, most of it for me is a texture issue rather than taste. Anything stringy or fibrous - ick. Broccoli stalks, asparagus stalks, celery stalks, sweet potatoes. I like all those, once the toughness is cooked out of them. Anything with a skin that doesn't just dissolve in my mouth is gonna make the list. And all of these foods I like just fine once the skins have been removed. Bell peppers, tomatoes, apples, lima beans, grapes (I can usually handle the skin on grapes). It was even worse when I was a little girl - I'd skin my peas! I'd pick 'em up one at a time and squeeze the innards onto my plate, then I'd eat the tiny little pea guts and leave a pile of empty skins on my plate. I still can't believe my Mom and Grandma let me get away with that. Grandma was such a doll, she'd run my oatmeal through a food mill so it was nice and smooth. I absolutely couldn't have eaten it otherwise; it felt like I was chewing vomit.
The very worst skin? Fore. And the darned stalk just keeps getting harder. No matter how I try to keep it down, it just keeps coming back up...

Posted: 8/17/2006 12:13:06 PM | OH MY GOSH!!!! I am reading through this and just grossing out!!! Now, what on earth did the first one to eat some of this stuff say, hey, that mushy organ over there, lets fry it up and eat it!!! -- kidneys???? oh, crap, that's gross!!!!
Course if I really thought about what a steak is -- which I love -- its a big piece of muscle!!!! Marbled with fat!!!! that makes it taste better!!!! YUCK!!! so, i am very glad the name does not also double for the body part....uh, I think I will take a big piece of cow butt. We should re-name the food item for kidneys and livers, maybe kids would eat them more easily.
Okay, what do I really hate -- what the (bleep) made someone decide chorizo (sausage down here in some Texas restaurants) should be supplemented with glands???? Yes, its true, read the ingredients if you see some at the grocery store -- glands!!! Okay, if that in itself doesnt gross anyone out....try this:
Take your finger and slightly touch the side of your neck, you know, where that little spongy thing is called a gland....yes, that is what is ground up in chorizo.....yep, little spongy glands.....

raisons, dates, prunes, jam, peanut butter, oysters, squid/ calamari/octopus, snails, kraft dinner, anything chef boyardee, canned meatballs, onions or fish on pizza, clams, mushy peas, cream style corn, turk bars, jello, head cheese, yogurt, pudding, thick creamy soups, thick fat noodles, fruit salad, fruit cake, plum pudding, poridge, macaroni, pea soup, sausage with too much grizzle, chicken wing drum sticks, and clam chowder.

Posted: 8/21/2006 7:57:56 PM | | ok so mine is also more of a texture thing too like anything squishy or slimy, tomatoes they are slimy on the inside and if cooked they are squishy and weird, carrots when cooked they get all mushy, anything that is too greashy like deep fried anything....also foods that are smooth or liquidy that have chunks of stuff in them it's nasty, like rice pudding i like pudding and love rise but put them together and i'm gonna be sick or that weird drink they came out with a while back i think it was called orbits or something it was a carbonated drink with like little balls of jelly or something floating through it thats just gross.....oh and one of my worst for smell and taste are cabbage rolls i hate them more than anything else....just plain disgusting....i'm sure there's more but thats all i can think of right now | |
