Back when I was 23, I had been given some VIAGRA for recreational use for my wedding night but didn't really see the need for it...my friend had said, "Oh, it'll make the sex INCREDIBLE"

Ha, ya right....I think my friend either has problems in that area or it was the whole placebo effect happening for them.

Everything was the same as it always was...my ex didn't notice any difference either.
However the next day was retarded...

That was the day we were going around to the bank, the insurance company...etc...everywhere you need to go in person to make everything joint. However, it was summer and I was wearing loose fitting shorts and a t-shirt...with a RAGING BONER all friggin' day. I had to stand to meet people and shake their hand and everytime I stood to do so, they were watching so I couldn't adjust to get it out of the way...

So there I stood, shaking some random man or woman's hand, with a hard-on poking out from my shorts like a tent.

Has anyone used one of these ED drugs as something to enhance their sexual experience rather than just to solve a medical condition?

Has any women taken these?

BK 1972, I have a woman DR, who prescribes viagra, for me. I have known this woman for several years, so we can talk about anything. Upon my reporting that viagra worked great for me, she straight out told me, she had tried it herself to see what it did for a woman. She reported that it is NOT for a woman, that it merely dried her up, & put her out of the mood, completely.

Well, it actually broke up my relationship with my S.O. - I'm 58.
We were together 16 years and own joint property, wills made out to each other, etc.... vowed to care for each other in sickness & in health, ...the whole nine yards. He turned 64, and his doc gave him Viagra to stimulate his regions below his equator because the diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure had given him a limp weenie. Now, with his prescription of Viagra, he has decided he needs to sleep with other women to "help cure his E.D." and he has joined 6 or 7 online dating websites. AND he told me that he only thinks of ME, the woman who has stood by him for 16 years (!), as his "sister". I know men go through a "midlife-crisis", but he must be in an "old-age crisis". Meanwhile, I'm left wondering what happened to my life now that the past 16 years were wasted on a man who says he no longer loves me. I'm finding out that this Viagra medication has destroyed MANY marriages, with the older man dumping his longtime partner and sleeping around with young women or with hookers . Some of them very famous people too. Also, it seems that Viagra is now contributing to the high incidence of STDs and HIV being diagnosed in the elderly.

My boyfriend took Cialis and suffered the worst migraine of his life. Had to take Vicodin to help the pain and it lasted hours. He will not take any pills again - so I guess our love life is at a standstill.

Any of these medications can be used to overcome medical conditions or as an enhancement but all should be checked with your doctor to assure you will not put your health at risk. Start with the lowest possible dosage to check for and minimize side effects.
There are also herbs which have similar enhancing effects (most notably Yohimbe and Damiana) without necessitating a prescription.
On the cost - welcome the internet. It is possible to attain prescription medications from foreign pharmacies and all ED treatments are highly available often at a cost lower than what you would expend as a co-pay if you got them through your insurance. ( do a search for "generic pharmacy online")
IN ANY EVENT - speak with a physician first to assure that you are not putting your life at risk. If not for your sake then for the sake of your partner who isn't likely to cherish the fact that your last encounter resulted in death.
Live as long as you want to and want to as long as you live!

A friend gave me a Viagra once, but it is not something I need. I cut the pill in half and took half before jumping in bed with my girlfriend. The results were amazing, I got a woodie that kept on giving. Not for 4 hours, but long enough to wear us both out. The next morning my one-eyed best friend was "at attention" again, a cat could not scratch it!

Ok a couple of misnomers that have been posted here:

Not ALL erectile problems are indicative of a health problem. As men age, things just tend to not work as well as they used to. Yes, ED can be caused by many factors, but to automatically state that it indicates a health problem is just "crying wolf".

First and foremost talk to your doctor about using any ED drug. They DO have serious interactions with other drugs (specifically nitrates) and can kill you if taken incorrectly.

Now, as to generic or asian ED drugs. These drugs are ILLEGAL to own possess or to import into Canada. Specifically because they are patent infringements and for that matter, with the problem with unsafe products/toys/machines from china, do you really want to put something in your body that you have NO idea what it contains?

The real stuff isn't that expensive and can be gotten easily, stick with the real thing.

Now, with all that said:
1) Cialis: lasts for about 3 or 4 days, works great, but sinus congestion, flushing, and a mild headache are a problem. The biggest side effect I had was horrible heartburn for about 3 days. I mean, it was the worst I've ever had. The first time I took it my calves actually ached.
2) Levitra: NO side effects whatsoever. It worked as well as cialis but it doesn't stay in your system as long. Cialis gives you the most "wood" for you money because it lasts so long.

I think there's some medical literature on the use of an antidepressant called Wellbutrin to increase libido in women. I don't recall the paper that well, but I think the women subjects were taking SSRI-class antidepressants and had lost interest in sex as a side effect. The Wellbutrin counteracted this to some extent--and dramatically in one or two cases.

My own brief experience with Wellbutrin was that it made me sort of edgy and also increased my libido. The feeling of being "plugged in" became sort of irritating and distracting, though, so I stopped taking it. It would be interesting to know if the effects are just temporary, or if they last.

I have never used Cialis or Viagra however you would want your Husband to try out a traditional root from Indonesia/Malaysia/Thailand called Tongkat Ali (malaysia) and Pasak Bumi (Indonesia)

There were reports this does helps with issue like your husband's scenario, assuming he is healthy just cannot maintain erection due to the slowing down of testostherone.

Oh yes, the scientfic name is Eurycoma Longfolia. Just google it, shall give you a place to start. Also try LJ100

I will repeat: stick to the good stuff, there is NO reason not to. All these chinese remedies etc can come with serious side effects that aren't just uncomfortable.

As for herbal remedies: make sure you thoroughly research them and make sure you get ONLY the herb, not anything else (like that vigor max crap). The problem is herbs and organics are NOT approved or inspected by the FDA and Cdn equivolent so who the hell knows what you're getting?

I still see NO reason why someone wouldn't just go to their doctor, get a free sample and give it a whirl.

As an answer to the other question about how all the guys used to say they were hard like iron, yet now everyone's importent: that's the problem, as with many things it was taboo to talk about ED so everyone suffered in silence. Now it is commonplace and more readily acceptible so guys talk openly about it. But really, just think about it: when you were young, a warm breeze would get you hard. But now it's 30 yrs later and all those guys that used to talk like a porn star, are having troubles.

Just go to the doc, get a free sample (the drug companies hand them out like candy) and try it. If you try cialis though pick up a nasal mist to help with the congestion....seriously.

Holy Crap!

However, I watched a rerun of Wonder Woman the other night and it just didn't have the same effect on me that it did in the 70s.

High Cholesterol and arterial issues are huge contributors to ED. If you are having some issues but don't have a clearly defined knowledge of why... get to the doctor not for the boner but to see if you have bigger problems to worry about.

Viagra are crap ! stuffy nose, sore eyes, and not a great hard on either.

levitra are ok, not too bad, nothing special though. Good errection, it comes and goes though.

Cialis are fantastic, they are ace ! Rock solid and 2 days of fun, no worries.

I posted this elsewhere, but thought it might be useful here:

Here's another alternative that has worked for me: an Impo-Aid vacuum pump. You do need to have talked this through with your partner in advance, but having done so it can be a fun part of the experience. The pump induces the blood flow into the penis, then you twist the end of the hollow cylinder and off pops a silicone restrictor ring at the base of the erection. The ring prevents the blood from flowing out of the erection until you are ready for it to. There is an electric version of this (which I have not tried) and a manual version. The manual version sells for about $130; it used to be sold in drug stores, but I think it is now just via the internet. The value of this for me is that the viagra pill did not work for me. And you can repeat the process as often as you wish! If my potential partner is not willing to hear about such things as preliminary to the love-making, then we are not ready for sex anyway....now, guys -- don't wait until the 'moment of truth' to trundle out your pump (or for that matter to finally admit there is some kind of problem anyway)...all this is for the mutual enjoyment of both parties

The causes of ED are many and varied. The reason that there are a number of possible medications/devices to help is that no single medication works with every man.
I have a chronic condition, Fibromyalgia, which is the major contributor to my ED, along with advancing age and that really annoying last 20 pounds the I've GOT to lose. Viagra and Levitra had about a 50% "success" rate for me. I've yet to try Cialis. In doing a little research, the vacuum pump may be the simplest and most effective method of achieving an erection. If my ED problems continue, I'll certainly look into that. You do need an understanding and hopefully loving partner. Making using the pump part of foreplay could be a lot of fun. For those who are really curious about ED and what can or can't be done, here's a link to the Mayo Clinics page on ED...Really good information from one of the best hospitals in the world:
