Posted: 6/30/2009 1:53:35 AM | Dont think of it as a date, it puts pressure on you, think of it as a meeting with someone you will hopefully enjoy meeting and an intresting experience you will learn from.
Get into the habit of enjoying meeting people instead of fearing it, dont have an agenda, be open and you'll be more at ease, letting the real you come through. | |

Usually if i'm going to meet someone I just meet them as a friend with no misconceptions that we are more than that..that way it's just like meeting up with an old pal and you can relax more and enjoy the time you spend together.

Reason why you are nervous, and try and rationalise.
If you are nervous about how she might feel when she sees you, don't be. She already knows what you look and sound like (you have spoken on the phone, haven't you?), and she's not been put-off by anything you've said.
Think positive, don't build your hopes up, and enjoy the experience for what it is.... | |

Posted: 7/1/2009 12:58:41 AM | It's very daunting meeting someone for the first time. Make sure you get there early. Let them lead the conversation to start with, ask them if there is anything they want to know about you. What they ask will be a good indication of whether they are actually interested in you. Usually the next line is to ask you for any questions, at which point I find it good to say 'ah yes, I have a list of about 20 questions somewhere' and pretend to ferret around in your handbag. It will make him laugh and you will feel alot more comfortable after that point. The hardest part is trying to think of the right things to say, but don't forget he may be just as nervous as you.....oh and never talk about your ex boyfriends, big no no.

Posted: 7/1/2009 1:32:56 AM | If i,m meeting on my home territory so to speak,i,m usually fairly confident meeting up but if i have to travel a ways like recently then the nerves do kick in.I chew gum to help calm me and take a few deep breaths and keep telling myself in my head'be confident'.Then just hope my hands dont shake when i,m trying to drink my coffee!
