Posted: 10/12/2006 11:19:20 PM | growing up, i used to sing back up vocalist and used to mess around on the guitar and keyboard. hell, i even had 5 offers to sing in different bands but passed them all up. i feel as if all of the band members are sexy in their own way. they tend to handle this instrument as if they were handling their women. and no, even though the drummer beats on the drums he's not beating up on women, just playing the music as it should be played. the drummer holds the drumsticks firmly but loose. yes, some music is played hard but it's not just how the music is being played but it's looking at the guitarist showing his sensual and/or sexual side.
the drummer, like i said hold the drumsticks firmly but loose allowing himself to have a firm hold on women just not too tight.
as for the guitarists, look at how they handle their guitars, hold them, the movements and motions with them, how they glide their fingers along the strings. there are 2 ways of looking at a guitarist and they are the musical and/or sensual way.
think of it, as a woman, i would love for my man to have a loose hold of me, not too loose or else he would drop me (like his guitar), hands gliding all over my body as his fingers would glide along the strings, the movements and motions has with me in his arms would be like how he would be with a woman (looking at it as a sexual perspective).  | |

It is about the whole picture they create - holding a guitar and moving in the rythm of the sound; their fingers playfully browsing the strings and sometimes lingering on the special ones and strumming strumming away ... Did I just say that the way they tackle plectrum is also intruiging?  | |

ain't it the truth! Guitars, hand drumming (tablas make me melt,) hell - even vibraphones - it's not just how they look, but how much fun they're having, and can they get me dancing??? Yeah.... I know. It's so cliche. But it's also true - show me you can get passionate about making some beautiful music, and you've got my interest....
argh. Kids tonight... no boogie for me.... just have to crank the radio in the kitchen and dance around while I make supper.... | |

I think its a combination of things:
First: there's something inherently sexy and powerful about performers.
Second: music is visceral, visual and verbal...enormously attractive.
Third: I know my fair share of musicians and I'd take a bullet for any of them...lovely lads...that informs my perception of musicians generally.

I think it also just comes with a passion for music. Hearing them play the guitar can almost be like having great sex. It's another form of connecting. | |

But now? Meh, if a woman asks what hobbies I have, I mention guitar and it never really gets a reaction, good or bad.
