| Whats the worst breakoff line you've heard?
Posted: 7/11/2008 10:29:23 AM | I had gone on weekly dates with this guy for a couple of months, we were really just at the getting to know each other stage . Anyway, I sensed he wasn't sure he wanted to continue, so I asked what was up. He turned into a major drama queen, said, "You are a wonderful woman ...I would like to keep going out with you, but not in the same way.. I don't see a future with you." He then put his face in his hands and said, "What is going to become of me?" The drama really threw me off, I mean we'd been on a few dates, WTF was up with such an over the top dumping. He also grimaced when once the discussion was over I leaned in to give him a farewell peck. That really shook me, the rejection was just so extreme, I guess you would have had to be there to understand. Anyway, I found out several months later that it was all just a show for him to protect his own ego (make it feel right in his mind), turns out he'd been dating someone else while dating me and he'd decided he wanted to move forward with her. Gees, why didn't he just say so, with the face in the hands stuff I thought the poor guy must have sexual identity issues or something. Plus since things had seemed to be going well with he and I and when I'd asked him whether he'd met someone else (reasonable possibility considering we met on a dating site, and were only getting to know one another) and he'd said no, it left me thinking that there must be something horribly wrong with me... I had nightmares of that discussion in his car that night (the break-up) for quite awhile afterward. Once I discovered that the truth was there was someone else in the picture, I was able to make sense of the whole thing. I do wish he could have been honest with me. Could've done without the replay nightmares of that one!! lol
Sorry, I detailed a bit there, the worst breakoff line I've received, in a nutshell, was, "I don't see a future with you." Ouch!! | |
