The worst one I experienced has already been stated.

"It's not you - it's me".
Yeah - it was him, he wimped out. If you're going to say no to a relationship - say it before six months pass for f's sake. That's my advice.

Dude, whenever I mention to any girl that I might end up being a cop, they get scared...

All they hear is "blah blah blah blah cop blah blah" oooo run away!!!

The price you gotta pay for getting paid for carrying a gun :P

They love the uniform but not the profession... *sigh* No Uniform 4 U

I think if you love someone that's all that should matter. The job is only one part of the whole person. It shouldn't be the deciding factor in a relationship. Cop marriages do work and I know alot of cops that are happily married so it's not like it's impossible to do. It takes a little more work but if you love each other it's worth it IMHO

My father's a cop and he's been married to my mom for 26 years. I know it shouldn't be a determining factor but some women just can't take it. I donno why, but you can just believe that it is because they 'wouldn't be able to stand the fact that they could lose you anyday'. That way it won't suck so much :P

Alright everyone, I've read a lot of y'alls posts about the worst break up lines you've heard, and mine (unfortunately) still beats them all. My boyfriend and I were together for nearly two years when he asked me to fly to California with him to finally meet his family and childhood friends for the first time in person. Of course I was overjoyed. We made the trek, spent a lovely Christmas with them, he told everyone of his plans to marry me, he even took me to where he wanted us to get married at. On New Year's Eve he proposed to me. Then, a month later he told me that he doesn't want to be in a relationship right now because he just wants to focus on school and go to work. (We're both 23) Anywho, if someone can top that load of BS then I'm terribly sorry because I know how much this has crushed me. Sigh... :-(

AWWW november babe thats a total bummer. My only advice is for you to do the same as him focus on you for right now it will help keep your mind off of things.

and at least he didnt say what my guy said to me.

I was in a 2 year relationship and my bf honest to god said "i want to kill myself for ever having spent 5 minutes with you"

I cried, i ripped his balls off, then I broke up with him, who wants a man with no balls.

November Girl.....actually, that sounds pretty bad.

Though that is the most common break up line, but not only that, the common "Dont date" line..is the ol' "I'm busy with school and/or work" line.

I was thinkin' "Hmm, I was in college, and I had a great time with the ladies there, LOL...had plenty of time, in fact, that was "play time" those 4 years...though I alloted time to study as well, but considering the dating is extremely high in college, might as well take advantage of it, right?

If someone tells me that they are too busy with college to date, they are pretty much full of it. LOL...because I WAS in college once, and belive me, I wasn't THAT busy.

Vandelai i completly disagree with you.
When I was in college i had a two majors and a minor, as well as I played college soccer and ran college track. SO I REALLY DIDN'T HAVE TIME for all that dating crap!

I am in school again now because i decided to chose a different path in my life than i had planned in college. And again right now i care more about being the best in my school than going out on a date, or being tied down and distracted by somebody. When I finish school sure I will be ready for a long term relationship again, but right now it just doesn't seem to be in the cards.

So for some people school really means that they dont have time!

Yikes...that's alot to put on your plate...guess I had more free time then....even did the work study thing for ayear (that's where you just sat at the desk all day looking at the wall and answering phones..however, I did make the best of THAT time by studying for an up and coming test...lol

But of course, if one choose to add more to their school load, to each their own.

I just studied and in my off time did my own thing, of course I worked out at the gym for like an hour.

I actually have known alot of engagements and new marriages that occured just come pouring out of college. Some people would get engaged, then plan accordingly to get married as soon as they finished college, and start their new life right afterwards.

Heck, they even had dorms for married people LOL.

I had my share of female "Study buddies" *wink wink* (think we were studyin'? LOL, well a little bit, just took some "Breaks" in between, hehe)

OH, the computer lab was a great place to meet single ladies...lol..it was open 24/7. Just start a conversation with "So, watcha studyin'?" hehe I typically looked for some lady with a book cracked open, hopefully someone I recognized from one of my classes, so I could have a reason to start a conversation. :)

Of course, I did my own st udyin, probably in my own dorm room, I'd shut myself in for 5 hours, take the test, get a good grade...then come out to start my reign of flirtations once again! LOL.

Ahhhhhh...College...THooooose were the daaaaaays!

Limo, if you really said, "It's just too small" or words to that effect, then what you said is no less cruel than the one about killing himself for spending 5 minutes with you. Unless it was a joke.

Didn't mean to preach, but I have found that people who say they are brutally honest usually can't stand when someone is brutally honest with them.
