Posted: 12/22/2007 3:48:54 AM | Im sure most men will tell you it was something you've done to trigger such an evil emotion.. if you wouldnt have looked longinly at that guy, if you wouldnt have sat on the phone with your ex bf for an hour, if you wouldnt always flirt with guys at work and the list goes on... well contrary to popular belief, a guy has to look inward to find the reasons why this emotion exists... My guess would be self esteem or insecurity ?       | |

Jealousy = Insecurity .....Totally agree. Jealousy is a waste of time and energy. What does it achieve?
Any person who has confidence in themselves should not feel jealous or used as another word "threatened".
What makes a guy jealous is the same things that make a woman jealous, I don't see any difference. | |

I once was in a dance club. I met this girl and we danced all night...had some decent conversation...bla bla bla....now...to paint a picture, we GRINDED on the dance floor...asked for her number at the end of the night..."Sorry I have a boyfriend"..."you have a boyfriend?...and your dancing like that with me on the dance floor?".....
Im pretty sure to her that was "innocent flirting"......
insecurity is a matter of trust...not jealousy...

also......if men are really jealous that usually means they are doing things behind your back and are afraid that you are doing the same dirty crap they are doing.......everyone has a bit of jealousy in them ...its just a matter of how it comes out and how you control it......
ok, this one gets thrown around a lot.
I just want to officially say horse shit.
I am not afraid to say that I have gotten Jealous a number of times in relationships but I can wholeheartedly say that it has never been because I was the same "dirty crap" to my partner.
It was mainly because of insecurity on my part, thinking the relationship was rock solid then being slapped in the face with knowledge that it wasn't. Once that happens, insecurities leak into the mind and the doubts start to come up. | |

As far as things getting out of control and the consequences being worth it........I guess it depends on the person.
You are wrong on your third point. If someone gets involved with a person who they know is already in a relationship they are equally as guilty. People are responsible for their own actions. People who lie and cheat (or take part in lying and cheating in any way) should be severley beatten (or even shot). Maybe then all the skanky people in the world would get their sh!t together and stop wrecking homes and lives. | |

You are not the only person on this earth, and there's more where you came from. So if you express an interest in someone else, by all means go for it. I don't own anyone, and will not hold someone back from being happy. If they are flirting and trying to make me jealous, they are obviously not the one for me.

Posted: 12/22/2007 11:42:55 AM | To try to hold onto a person, is trying to possess them... the moment one does that is the beginning of the end. A bond or connection comes the other way... it is the other person giving and you accepting, not trying to make it exist.
It strikes me that when you are jealous or possessive you are possibly not really secure about the bond or connection you have with the other person - but more than likely it is you are not very secure about who you are as a person and that life will work out for you. In previous relationships I have answered jealousy by trying to make them feel more secure. It hasn't worked, although theoretically it ought to if it is only a matter of not being secure about your connection.
If you believe that who you are is enough - and we are all enough - then perhaps you have no reason to be jealous. | |

I don't think of myself as particularly secure either, so while I agree that jealousy is a sign of insecurity (I think it's a sign of a few things.. none of them good.), I can't really say that someone who doesn't get jealous is automatically secure either.
Wow.. that sounded circular even to me and I thought it.. oh well.
For me to get jealous, it takes a lot. I'm 37 and have yet to experience an serious jealousy. The closest I've come is being jealous of a friend's smoking hot new outfit or shoes or something. I suspect that's more envious.. than jealous though.
When I'm dating someone... other girls flirting with him barely registers. If he spends a lot of time talking to his friends at a gathering.. so what? Don't I have other people to talk to? Don't me and him talk ALL the time as it is? | |

We want you to have all female friends because we think ALL the friends that you have that are male..wanna F.uck you. Just Like we do. The horn dogs that we are.
We know because WE do and think about that with every other hot chick within a 2 - 300 foot radius. Which makes it worse. Hmmm a bit of a double standard there methinks.... Did you really just say that guys think about f**king every hot woman within a 300 ft radius, but get p1ssed with their woman because another guy talks to her and he is thinking the same thing about her??? (Shakes head) I guess we could follow the middle eastern culture and all cover up in burkhas so no other guys will be able to see us and feel 'desire'.
Jealousy when your partner is behaving inapproppriately is expected but this...
There are a lot of 'triggers' to jealous behavior that show up in very insecure people that don't in a person that is well 'grounded'. If it is just because a person is looking at, talking to or friendly with someone of the opposite sex. Then there is a real issue here. is often what people have to deal with. I know that every time i even spoke to another guy even if it was a mutual friend i would get put through the third degree. Even if i went lunch with a girlfriend!!! in the end it destroyed anything we had. It's not always caused by their partner behaving badly!!!! | |

My ex-husband wasn't jealous, he would get up and go to the bathroom and leave me sitting there with or without other people. He would stop and talk to people, I never knew when he would come back. He wondered why I didn't like going out to bars with him, besides the smoke, yeah, being left alone. It didn't seem to bother him if he came back and some guy was sitting next to me either. Guess he wanted me to be unfaithful. | |

I know this because at his halloween party, I went to sleep in his bed and some random guy wandered in and kept trying to get under the blankets with me. Boyfriend's roommate was the only one man enough to come in and rescue me (i could have kicked the guy's butt myself, if I wasn't missing some crucial clothing at the time). Boyfriend apparently didn't notice or if he did, he didn't care (his bedroom was right off the livingroom), and he didn't even blink after I told him.
Yeahno. I like a guy with a little bit of possessiveness in him. It's healthy to want to 'protect' your mate from the other guys/gals. Unless, of course, your guy/gal WANTS the other person, then you just say **** it and let them go. | |

ok....Its kinda scary that a boyfriend wouldnt even be a tad bit upset if another man tried to climb in bed with you....
call me crazy...but that is almost worse than being possesive....
Let me tell you something...If I had a g/f and another man tried to climb in bed with her....I would take that guy to the side and let him know how I felt...trust me..he wouldnt try it again.... | |
