| lying about your age Posted: 7/4/2006 2:55:38 AM | kat i was friends with the parents first but then again im also friends with his wife too and the other kids which the other one is also 15 also.but my point was about being honest. and it dont matter what age you are as long your honest and open.me my self im always honest as i have never seem anything gain by lie.but i have seem alot gain by being honest.and kat i agree with you on your comment .pof dont you just want one women?? so why lie it made cost you that one you do meet.keep it real and go the distance.unless your just into just dateing just my 2 cents of course. | |
|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/4/2006 2:59:51 AM | rose i think its weight also thats two things i learn from my mother and it has become my golden rule thru life i dont ask a women her age or her weight. never | |
|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/4/2006 3:21:27 AM | My age doesn't bother me in the least, never has. I have however, on occassion, lied about my age. I take a logical approach though. Most women seem to want to say they are 29 - is there some magic to this number? I tell people that I'm 56. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense; I look like cr@p for 29, but I look great for 56! | |
|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/4/2006 3:23:24 AM | I wouldn't lie about my age. Hey, age is just a number to me. Although, just yesterday, I was scrolling through the profiles, and wanted to contact someone. Then I noticed I was just past their boundary for age requirement. Their maximum was 53, and I'm 56. Bummer! | |
|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/4/2006 3:34:45 AM | Sandilynne.......I'm confused. You said you lie about your age. Are you lying when you tell people you are 56?
Your profile lists your age as 43.....what's up with that?
Or, am I just having a "senior" moment?
|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/4/2006 6:26:25 AM | Well..to put it lightly...your acting like a rebel sixteen year old..my nephew wears a purple hair mohawk..and angry at the world spouting rap crap...I distance myself from him because he is way too negative for my angelic aura..
Ease up on the negative and put some positive in your life....and look and act your age..
|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/4/2006 7:12:01 AM |
look like cr@p for 29, but I look great for 56!
This is my exact thinking, too!! :)
I ALWAYS get told there is NO WAY that I am a Grandma or have four adult kids...that I am 40...etc...but if I were to say I was 29...well, people guess me in my 20's! So it would be silly!
|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/4/2006 7:25:41 PM | Once I catch someone in a lie I can not trust anything they tell me as truth. I have ended friendships over being lied to. This however does not include fun teasing or harmless storytelling. I have a 5 year old friend that believes there is a gorilla in the hay mow of my barn. Ya, I know some of you are saying that's not nice but is it any different then the fat guy in red trying to get down the chimney. Kids love fantasy, so I guess if the op is living a fantasy life maybe he's just an old kid. | |

| lying about your age Posted: 7/4/2006 7:38:09 PM | | LOL..I get 60 something year old guys hitting on me all the time..trying to convince me they are "young at heart"...BAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry...I'm gonna be 44 and my dad is 67. I don't want a man my father's age. They really take it hard when I tell them this..lol. But the best ones are the ones that try and say they are 48/49 when I know they are over 55. | |
|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/4/2006 8:24:34 PM | All this talk about lying about your age. I agree with all the posters that say that lying is bad be it about age or anything else. But wouldn't it be great if POF had an option to put something like "guess my age", "I'd rather not say" or "that is personal", in place of our age that is calculated off our birthday we included on our registration.
Just a thought cyclingmonk

| lying about your age Posted: 7/4/2006 8:43:42 PM | I have never lied about my age...or weight. Maybe Im comfortable with both... I have never been told I look older thats for sure. You can have fun and joke about being younger, sure... But I think trust could be an issue after any kind of lie, or "fibbing" the truth | |
|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/5/2006 4:59:47 AM | Tishag, you are going to have men hitting on you for a year AFTER they plant you in the ground!!!
Young at heart.....
Viagara in one hand, Dentu Cream in the other, hair dye for the parts that don't show under the bad toupee in the medicine cabinet....
But young at heart.
If they DID get somewhere with you they'd probably end up young at heart ATTACK....
A lot of guys don't accept old age very well. I have.

| lying about your age Posted: 7/5/2006 10:46:51 AM | I was contacted by one poster who states in his profile that he's 46. After a couple of messages to me he said he was really 51 yrs. old. I asked him why he lied about his age and he said because he wanted to attract younger women.
So, when I said to him " best of luck" he turned the tables on me. He made it out to be my problem instead of his...Sheesh......in fact he stated that he must remind me of another person that has lied to me in the past. How ridiculous is that? Read my profile. I've been widowed for 5 1/2 yrs. and haven't dated yet.
Some people's kids....can't take responsiblity for their own choice to lie and have to pass the buck. And guess what?............. he's still 46 on his profile.
As a woman I'd like the " that is personal" option.

|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/5/2006 11:13:07 AM | | I'll Say it again & again, what age you are, looks .skinny or fat has NOTHING to do with what people are attracted to FACE to FACE...Look at my Profile...DO you think i'm 60? A women shouldn't tell a man her Age or her weight..its ALL in attraction, compatabilty,Personality etc etc ... | |

Somewhere the truth always comes back and slaps you in the face.
Ask her for her birth cerficate before you go out.
|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/5/2006 11:16:23 AM | | tHANK YOU "WOLF" THATS THE GOLDEN RULE..a women should never tell her age or her weight..Got that from Zsa Zsa Gabor! | |
|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/5/2006 1:42:01 PM | | lying about your age is never good. someone usually finds out in the end and then you look stupid. women don't usually lie to someone they're in a relationship with. however there are those few who do if and when they can get a way with it. and like post number 2 i believe it was why lie about your age unless your after women who are considerably younger than yourself? | |
|
| lying about your age Posted: 7/5/2006 2:12:08 PM | | Had an uncorrectable scroll typo on this site and you would not believe the female reaction as in accusing or suspecting me as a liar. Even today, on my birthday, why did my age go up by one year. And then they say how long ago was that picture taken in which you look so young--last week. I too for fun sometakes exaggerate my age as being higher and watch them incredulous after they meet me. So it turns out my friends are either young or young looking, so we look the same age. | |
|
| lying about your age Posted: 2/16/2008 5:47:04 AM | I too have an uncorrectable error that must have occurred when scrolling. I assume it must be the month because when I made my profile it had the correct age, but when I had a birthday it stayed the same. By the time I noticed it, it was too late to correct it. I have explained in my profile that I am 40, not 39.
But to get back on topic, I have been browsing profiles and have seen men who claim to be in their mid 30's and my reaction is usually, "My ass you're 34..." lol. I suppose they could be, but if so, they didn't age well at all.
|
| lying about your age Posted: 2/16/2008 5:58:25 AM | If you have to lie then you don't belong with the person. This is true about any aspect of life, not just age.
How would you feel if someone lied to you?
|
| |
| lying about your age Posted: 2/16/2008 9:46:04 AM | | Can't really advise you on this one. I don't want to convince or try to get you to lie, either. It always makes me uncomfortable when asked my age, too. So, I do know what you are saying. Before answering ask Is age a big deal to you? You could dodge the question. Or, you could say your age then add "but I am younger at heart". | |
|
| lying about your age Posted: 2/16/2008 7:04:01 PM | Hi
I am paranoid about my age in that I feel that I look too young for my actual age of 33, i dont know if anybody would agree. This does make me think that maybe I would have more luck lying about my age, not that I want to as its not a good start really is it?
