When I talk to women from our Montreal or Quebec offices on the phone, I get goosebumps... I try to make the call last as long as it can.

New York accent, Boston accent, New Jersey accent, Southern accent.
I'm from Michigan's southwestern corner, but I went to Michigan's Upper Penninsula this weekend and their accents sound like Canadians and those from Minnesota and North Dakota.
I guess my accent would be a Midwestern accent, but there are other accents in the Midwest. Also, I've heard people talk like me from many different parts of America. I guess I have the "Standard American Accent". LOL! Does anybody know what mine is called? | |

I talked to a Scottish girl when she came into where I work, and I asked her if she was from Northern England because to tell you the truth, I've heard Northern Englanders who sound Scottish, and I thought it would impress her if I guessed right. (I'm a sucker for foreign accents.)
She turned out to be from Scotland, but seemed impressed with my guess, at least a little. She was from southern Scotland, I think. So I wasn't too far off. Is Liverpool near Scotland? That accent is like the Beatles, right? Or is it Manchester? | |
