Due to Nigerian Scammers copying an Pasting our Pics posing as AMERICANS .....! 
I leave now but one!
But I do agree I like to see what a Guy if interested in me
looks like, and has a pic to show me...? 
I don't like meeting someone like a Blind date, and find out they don't take any Pride
in how they look...! I'am not looking 4 a model as I'am not but I'am attractive! 
Also they think their this an that and then some....?  2 stuck on themselves and conceited....! 
But I will admit I was suppose to meet on 2 different occasion's 2 different guy's Locally whom had no pic...?
But knew what I looked like from several pics!
Well it made me feel like they were lurking at me cause I never did meet them!
I said NEVER AGAIN will I do that 2 myself....!!  | |

1. Have a friend who has a digital camera take a pic and email it to you
2. Go to Walmart to develop your film and have it placed on a disk for your computer
3. Buy a video cam for your computer at walmart for about 29 dollars and show yourself on IM or have it take a picture.
4. Go to Staples or Office Max and scan your pics and have burnt on a disk
5. Go buy a cheap scanner for 40 dollars
6. If you want a real nice picture for a cheap price...Walmart does that too for $14.95 and you get one studio sitting.
Unless you are brand new to this site there is no reason you can't produce a picture and at least show through private email.
And I am sorry but I am a bit tired of the whiny B.S. that people who want to know what you look like being made out to be shallow. I think it is shallow and creepy when you can't produce one even privately. | |

And I feel if ur really serious about meeting someone to be a partner in ur life,
then it's only rite to let them know what u look like, so they don't have this image of u,
then be disappointed when they do meet u!
Only makes for hurt feelings, and uncompfortable situation!   
To me it's all a combination when u meet someone, being a gentalman is one main trait!
But also sorry, don't want to affebd anyone here!
But I also expect someone to take pride how they look....?

Regardless of what y'all say, probably 90 some odd percent of people who won't post a photo on this site have ONE REASON for not doing so-- they're afraid of getting caught by their spouse.
Having said that, I think half the guys who won't post photos can't read either. I still get emails from the idjits.
As to the 2% who won't post their photo because of other reasons-- when are you going to learn that the sexiest part of a partner is his (or her) brain? | |

Posted: 9/6/2006 2:06:48 PM | Most of the posts on here are very true and quite accurate. However, there is only one reason I don't post my photo. Those is because I ran for public office and intend on running for higher offices and really feel that posting my photo can be damaging to me being taken seriously about the office I may seek. I’m caught between a rock and a hard place as I want to meet a woman and develop a relationship but at the same time I’m a political activist and want to make some changes to help every one. Like the person who talked about small town's folk for me it could be disastrous as I might list what or I’m attracted to and some would feel I would be judgmental to others; but if you looked past that photo you would discover that I’m completely open minded and would not feel like one group of people are less than another.
Another big reason I chose not to post is because I’m mixed although people only see what they want and because I have black heritage some would not even respond to me or get to now me because they feel I’m black. Little do they know I’m also American Indian and Italian that really makes me more like the Heinz 57 so many people claim about themselves. But unless you talk to me you will never know that. And while I find it appalling that people are still racially divided; sorting out those who would not like me simply because my skin is darker than theirs is part of my reasoning for the hesitation in posting.
In a thought I wonder why these (mostly white) women feel its so unacceptable to date a guy of another skin color yet most tan and try to take on a darker skin tone. Some say things like its just my family would not accept me dating a different race but I wonder if they accept her being happy for herself or is it all about them being happy with her choices I know acceptance is important but happiness trumps acceptance.
But back to the photo thing no matter what the reason people chose to or not to put a photo up is personal and while some are being deceptive others have very good reasons for not doing it but for those who claim not having the proper equipment or time to do it I think those are the real phonies because with all the different ways to do it now, any nine year old can get a photo up on line. It doesn’t take much and it’s nice if the site supports private photos so you can allow only those you chose to see your photo. | |

BUT, I DO care about their photo...as it I WANT TO SEE SEVERAL. I have done this long enough to have learned a good many things...and one of the biggest is that NO ONE LOOKS LIKE THEIR PHOTO
I have met some mediocre gals that were totally soooooo cool and pretty it was a good thing I didnt judge their pics...and I have also met several who photograph incredibly well but look very different in person. Now that is all good and well but until I meet in person, I am not going to really know what someone is like. | |

If you are looking for a pen pal or just someone to chat with- a pic isn't necessary- although even then, it's fun to see the face of the person you are talking to - but...
If you are looking to meet new people with dating in mind...YOU NEED A PICTURE...Granted.. none of us are supermodels.. but unless you are running from the law or a "signifigant other' or you have 3 eyes... there aren't many reasons to have a profile without a pic.
If I can't see the person who is writing to me, I rarely answer. If the person can't be genuine enough to post a picture, how can I trust them to be honest with me.
I understand- not everyone has a digital camera.. etc- but if you take a pic with a regular camera.. take the film to walmart etc.. you can get your pictures on a disk. You then install the picture on your computer and then you can upload it a site that stores your pictures for free (If you can't upload directly) Snap fish is a good site to use.
So now all of the people who say they don't have a way to get a picture onto the web have a way to do so... | |

If they found out (especially my son) it would be very uncomfortable (for them, not for me). So, I choose to only send my pic to those who I may end up meeting or chatting with. It is my right to do so. If someone doesn't want to chat with me before they see my pic, then that is their loss.

@btrfly.........hey hun, that's your perogative on your sexual preference not your co workers. how many of them sleep on one side of the bed? how many of them slept on both sides of the bed? as for your son, if he's not old enough to understand i wouldn't say anything but if he is old enough to understand about sex and sexual preferences i would be honest and explain to him. if your parents know your preference and support you in your decision then have them sit with you while you tell your son. it's best that he knows about it instead of hearing about it through the grapevine (rumours). hearing things other than straight from the horses mouth is more harmful than anything..................

now, back on the topic.....there are many reasons why poeple don't put a pic in their profile, some won't even send you a pic if you ask for it. hiding from the authority (courts), false identity (scams), don't have a camera (digital or web), can't afford to buy one or have their pics taken (department stores), new to the area and don't know anyone that can do it for them, extra-marital affairs, or sexual preferences. some pics in profiles are outdated (2 years & up), people tend to change of the years and either are ashamed of what they look like or just never had a chance to update their pic. i myself have been keeping my pics up to date. i think that it's the best thing to do and everyone can see differences in me. i also prefer more of a natural pose vs. a professional pose, they just look too fake. i would never dismiss talking to anyone just because they do not have a pic in their pro, i just wouldn't meet them or i would meet them during the day and in a public place (mall). | |
