if you don't have genuine copy of Windows you can only use auto updates..manual will not work......MS set it up that way.......

also FYI

Many repair shops will install a handy (but illegal) "in-house" copy of Windows XP to repair their customer's computer systems and the WGA 'detects' these cloned Win XP installations as 'pirated' or illegitimate, .

Most of these computer repair places do this out of convenience because (1) it is easier than asking the customers for their own copy and (2) If they did ask the customers for their original XP Install CD; they are responsible if it gets lost or damaged at the shop.

Unless it's a coporate license you are only allowed 1 install on 1 pc per CD....and if the corporation didn't use the correct installation process & ID key per the license agreement then it would show up as pirated also

Hi actully the reason you are just sdarting to get error messages about you windows not being valid is becouse microsoft about 8 to 12 weeks ago now changed there policy on pirate software with a download called genuine advantage. this is bocouse they haved started offering peaple free copies of some of there upcoming software releases but to qualify you have to be able to prove that you boght your windows legally.

once this software is installed on your computer it can not be uninstalled but it can be bypassed by downloading a crack from a torrent based website.

if you dont feel cumfertable downloading cracks then the only other way that I know of to remove this code is to reinstall windows.

as for the problem you are having with your internet freezing this is most likely being coused by a rouge element you say that your harddisk is not needing defraged and that you are not using all of your system resources and that this only happens when you are accessing kids web sites.

most of the kids website will need you have external programs installed for the sites to function properly.

things like Macromedia Flash and or shokwave are commenly used for interactive elements on childrens websites.

finnally make sure you have a good spyware checker and virus checker running all of the time when you are online.

I use Spybot 1.4 and lavasofts Adaware se to check for spyware although A squared is also very good. and I use AVG 7 free edition to keep the viruses at bay.
