Come on deejay............got anything more than "pats are the team". We get it that you're a Pats fan. Can you offer any reasoning behind your predictions? The Pats are one twisted Brady knee from 6-10. The defense is getting old and so is Corey Dillon. The dynasty is over. Time for the Pats to return to their rightful spot.............below the Dolphins in the AFC standings.

Wow this thread got bigger.LOL. I'm really looking forward to McNair going to the ravens. I like Kyle a lot, but this was a greak oppertunity for Brian Billick. I think they can do better than 6-10. Even though with records like the Saints had that's decent. Yeeesh that was ugly!

There were so many offseason changes (new coaches, big-time moves in free-agency, and draft picks) that I think it's hard to tell who will or will not be strong this year. I just love football so I'll be fine regardless.

Patriots vs Panthers a Superbowl XXXVIII rematch in Superbowl XLI.

^ I wouldn't be shocked to see that happen. Wouldn't be the first time 2 teams faced each other in a SuperBowl rematch, but history favors the team that won it the first time again in the rematch.

"saints are always average &/or don't cover expectations"

Hopefully with Coach Payton the Saints will exceed expectations instead of being consistantly inconsistant like they were under Haslett. Payton will instill discipline which was sorely needed. The offense should definitely put up some big numbers if the line can gel. On defense they've upgraded the linebackers with Simmons, Fujita and Polley. the big question is at the #2 CB position.

I am a Saint fan but I don't wear black and gold colored glasses so my S.B. prediction is....

Colts vs Cowboys

Vinatieri hits a FG to put the Colts ahead and then Vanderjagt proves once again how clutch he is and shanks a 40 yd FG that would have won the game as time expires.

i hope you are wrong. the browns are the team we love to hate. the bengals just have no kind of tradition and a long history of being a poorly run organization. and the ravens are to be despised but not respected. modell ruined a great nfl rivalry with his move to baltimore. i am one and not the only steeler fan the wishes the browns well. just not too well

Well im a Bronco fan, so i iwll try not to be biased.....with that said..... Broncos superbowl champs....just kidding, here are my predictions......

In the afc east.....I will never underestimate New England and there coaching staff, and well tom brady is the best clutch qb in the league right now....BUT....I dont think they are the team they used to be, denver beat them twice last year, and they didnt have a lot of quality wins last year, but i think they make the playoffs just because of brady and billecheck....Miami is an up and coming team, i like there team this year, although winning 5 games in a row last year when the games meant nothing doesnt really impress me...Buffalo ...good defense, other than that , i dont kn ow.....i like mcghee, good running back.....jets. that team is in trouble....

afc west...broncos broncos broncos.....i really do its our division to lose...san diego rookie qb, teams will stack the line begging rivers to throw, as great as tomlinson is, he cant win games by himself against 9 man fronts the enitre game.....cheifs.....no defesne, they cant tackle, gunther cunningham is the most overrated hyped up d cord i have ever seen, the defense didnt imnprove at all under him.....tiki barber is still scoring touchdowns on that team. raiders ...do i even need to comment?

afc north....cincy is a very good team will give pitt a run for there money...healthy carson...watch out for that offense, chad johnson is one of the best receivers in football...talks a good game and backs it up...bmore...great defense , no offense, the addittion of mcnair will help, but still no offense, another overrated coach...brain billick...and cleveland, well, its fricking cleveland, sorry brownie fans....but you are just cursed....

afc south....still think indy takes the division w/o EJ......great qb, dwight freeney top 3 d player in the league.....jax..good defense, i like leftwich, but just not enough to catch indy...tennesse, rebuilding. houston, i love Kubiack, as he was here in denver, but they are a few years away....

nfc west...Seattle to lose, i think zona up and coming team, but havent we been saying that the last three years?...by the way, boldin and fitz are one of the (if not best wr combo) in the league, never really like the rams, i like holt and the offense, but they seem to be a fav, and then fade out....and the niners...if they get 5 wins they should be dancing in the streets....

nfc east...tough tough divison, but i like the skins in that division...portis is the man, big fan here even though he isnt in denver anymore....great defense....the boys will be tough, T.O. will be a good boy for one year like he always is...bledsoe has the mobiltiy of a water buffalo, but you cant underestimate parcells. G-men have a good team, but yikes!!! playoff performance by Eli?....ouch..i actually like eli, but that panther game was brutal...philly will be better, but not enough to compete for the division, i think all three teams are better....

nfc north...Who cares?...whovever makes the playoff out of this division will get drilled first round...but with that said...chicago has a good defense and probably the best out of the division...minny i think is second, detriot has great offensive talent (wr, and rb) dont know how that team struggles sometimes, and green bay pulling up the rear...sorry pack fans, favre is a shell of himself..29 picks is fricking brutal last year, he thinks he is favre of 10 years ago,

nfc south...carolina to lose...this is a very strong football team, if this team doesnt at least make to the nfc champ game it would shock me....i like john fox...very underrated coach....Tampa will hang for awhile, but just not enough to catch carolina...p.s. cadillac is gonna be a monster this year, guy is good. atlanta, gonna really piss off some falcon fans, dont care, vick is the most overrated , overhyped football player in the history of the nfl....he is a running back playing qb...very good athlete, not a very good qb, i know the media sucks on his balls, but break down his numbers...not that great...plus its the falcons...havent had back to back winning seasons in forever...and the saints...be exciting to watch reggie, but i think they got a long way to go....i really like joe horn, good reciever.....

there they are, probably piss people off, dont care, just an opinion!!!!

Are you ready for some football!!!!!!!!!!!

Good summary eman. As a Dolphin fan I have to call you out on one or two issues. Yes Miami did get hot at the end of the season winning 6 games in row:

1)They also beat some good teams early(most notably Denver 34-10, and Carolina)
2)They were still alive for a playoff berth until week 17...had New England lost one more game, their game w/ Miami in week 17 would have been for the division title.

Miami went 9-7 w/ Gus Ferrotte at QB for God's sake. Replace him w/ Culpeper and that's got to be worth 2 or 3 wins at least doesn't it? The secondary is a bit of a question mark but the front 7 is a strong veteran group. The o-line is improving and Ronnie Brown will come into his own this year. He had 900 yds. last year splitting time w/ Ricky. Schedule sets up good for Miami too as there is only one late season cold weather game and that is in Buffalo.

Good luck to your Broncs...perhaps we will meet in the playoffs.

Hey Virginia,

dont take my post the wrong way, i do believe maimi is good, I HATE new england and the way the media loves them no matter what, I guess my point was when they were 3-7, they really had nothing to play for they so im just saying your more loose than usual......when you have not pressure to win, (call me crazy for this)....you play better i think, but again, i do like culpepper, and i really like mcmiachel...that guy is good....and yes, that 34-10 beat down to my broncos was just a dream i think......i dont even remember that game...lol....anyway, just do me a favor.....PLEASE finish ahead of the media fav pats, im so sick of hearing about them.....

You're sick of them.......imagine if you played them twice every year. My buddies and I, none of whom is a Dolphin fan, call the Pats "Jesus' team", because they get every call...if not for the "tuck" play a few years back and Bledsoe getting hurt there may have never been a Pats dynasty. Even the weather seems to cooperate w/ them. But the train stops this year and we shall return the Pats to their rightful place.....behind Miami in the AFC East standings. Make a deal w/ you. You dust the Pats in week 3 and Miami will punk out KC later on.....Deal?

since we are on the topic of NFL......im gonna give you most "overrated list" and why.....here we go....

1. Vick.....ok...before i get the hate mail.....Great athlete, no question. BUT, he is a average to below average qb.....another thing.....whenever he has a good game do you ever notice the media hops on him like he is greatest thing, but whenever he has a bad game its "well, he is just learning the offense"..cant have it both ways.....

2. Billick (ravens)...um....why does this guy get hyped up every year?....every year i hear abou the ravens and what they are gonna do, i have been waiting for the last three years for this. another thing, as far as offense goes...billick is an IDIOT....i mean, this guy is suppose to be a qb coach?...stoney case?....kyle boller?....anthony wright?.....need i go on?.....

3. Gunther cunningham....all i heard was how good the kc defense was gonna be becuase gunther was back. well ....still waiting, this team still cant tackle, have bad linebackers, and still cant cover anybody. plus the whining the chiefs did at the end of the year about getting 10 wins and not get any...GEE , why dont you beat philly at home?...instead of giving up 4th quarter leads?.....GEE learn how to tackle Tiki Barber....you might have got in...

4. Doug Flutie....ok ...i know im gonna push some buttons on this one...what has this guy really won?....i mean he comes in in the fourth quarter, provides a little spark, and then goes away for 4 years till he comes in again in the fourth quarter. If this guy wasnt 5 foot 3 (whatever he is)...this guy would be lost as just another qb....

that is just my short list.....

You're right on again eman w/ the first three. I gotta give Flutie some props though. When he came out of college we were still in the age of the drop back passer. Yes he's small but his mobility, intelligence and guts made up for it. Should've never had to compete w/ that loser Rob Johnson in Buffalo. He's not a Hall of Famer but was a good solid QB w/ the misfortune of being a little ahead of his time.

Being from VA, I know the Vick hype all too well. I agree about Billick too. Ever hear Tony Kornheiser go off about the "genius" Billick.....hysterical. The only thing I can conclude about Gunther is that he must have naked pics of Carl Peterson and Herm in a 3way w/ a goat. Why else would they keep him around? KC's offense has been Super Bowl caliber for a few years now but like you said.....I think Tiki just scored again.

I think flutie has TONS of heart, but i also think Plummer has tons of heart, doesnt mean he is a good qb. Well let me ask you a question, that playoff game you are refereing too when they decided to start johsnon over flutie, do you think flutie would have done better?....i mean buffalo wins that game if it wasnt for the miracle...i dont know...i respect him as a player, i just dont think he is that good....i still remember the game against the canes, i was like 12 (showing my age).....people forget, it wasnt just that pass, that game was just awsome to watch......

yes the chiefs D wasnt up to par but Herman Edwards defines defense. he can change a team and he will. With a half decent defense and the offense they have with L.J...teams should watch them

So your saying the addition of edwards makes gunther null and void?......so if edwards is better than gunther, why even keep gunther?....even as a chief fan your not happy with gunther, do i think the chiefs will be better?.....uh yea, do i still think the defense is the same?....uh yea...you will go 10-6 lose some games because your defenese, and then whine and complain to the nfl that they should have more teams make the playoffs, well at least we dont have to have vermiel whining and crying at the drop of a tissue, i respect vermiel, great coach, but jeez....enough of the crying already!!!!!!

They will be dangerous b/c they can put 30 on anybody, but Herm couldn't make the Jets a consistant winner w/ better talent on defense than KC has. They need a change of defensive personel as much as a better scheme. That's why controlling the clock w/ Johnson is so important...it keeps that matador defense off the field. I can empathize w/ you Chief. Miami wasted the career of Marino because of year after year of pathetic defense. Had Miami had a top ten defense even one year from 84-93, Marino would probably not be considered the best QB to never win a Super Bowl. KC will have a good year, but it's not a cliche for nothing.........defense wins championships.

plus....i have been hearing how the chiefs are "gonna do things this year"....for years....last playoff win for the chiefs?...anyone know?...my trivia question for the day.....(hint...been long time)......virginia....i also think the lack of a run game hurt marino......elway didnt really have a strong run game when he was getting drilled in superbowls in the 80's......along came TD and everything changed.....

Think it's been since '93 for the Chiefs. You are right about Miami's running game. But the Rams proved a few years back that its possible to win throwing it all over the field as long as you can play a little D.

ya it has been a while. I believe that they will do damage this year especially with Tony Gonzalez coming to the end of his career and has never won a playoff game yet.

He did. We were just debating his merits as a QB.
