| I found another site that seems to be better for me
Posted: 4/24/2005 6:44:39 PM | I have been on several different sites. Mate1.com/Webdate.com I havent had any luck on ewither one. Webdate is a bunch of horney ass men showing there private parts/ or men from Turkey, England, the other side of the planet. Mate1, I just never got any responses.
BUT , Plenty Of Fish so far is THE BEST. I got several responses within 24 hours.
I not only like the profiles I like the lay out of this site. Lots of reading.
Just never give up.

Posted: 7/19/2005 9:36:09 AM | Not only is this among the best sites in my opinion but it's easy to traverse, as well...
by that I mean in lots of places you spend hours going through page after usless page before you can get to what you want,....even when you fill out a search with very specifics you get thousands of generals to sift through as well
and the forums for the most part are informative and fun,...it never hurts to see the world through anothers' perspective,...
And I actually love the idea of chatting with people from all over the globe,...in my day they used to call that pen pal,... | |

I checked out the site you recomended and there is no way I would join
and I'll tell you why,...
They don't just ask you to fill in your personal information,..they insist on it so if you don't answer things like,...your weight is 101-110,.. 111-120,..etc if you don't you can't continue,...
Now I'm no thunder thighs and I'm not a pencil either but some things are none of anybody's buisiness,...
I thought I could just check off some ridiculous number and continue,..
but I hit another snag,...where it asks for your zip code / or in my case postal code
which I did fill in ,...the site then didn't recognize it as valid,...
now I have lived where I do for 3 years and that was in fact my correct and valid postal code,...but every time I repeated this I got the same response,..invalid postal code,....
irritated I gave up,....
Therefore my opinion remains unchanged that this is in fact the best site ever,..and the forums here are, entertaining, interesting, informative and at times thought provoking ,..... | |

Posted: 5/23/2009 7:06:55 AM | I have to admit in eight years of playing around on internet sites for dating or sex, there are only a handful that are either effective or amusing enough for me to continue using them regularly. I also admit not all of them are probably rated high enough on Alexa, because I don't care about what Alexa says, I care only about my own results.
1) Plentyoffish is absolutely the best. I don't get scam or spam emails on here. I can place pictures and organize them, I can have a huge long description if I want (not limited to 100 or 250 characters), and the site functions are awesome. Everything is free, including things you would pay for on other free sites, like seeing who is viewing your profile, messaging anyone (who doesn't have mail filters set up to block me), and the ability to have a huge favorites list. The only complaint I ever had about POF has to do with ads. And it's not that the ads are there, that's fine, it's the ads that come up every now and then to say, "try this other dating site, it's free", and it's not free. Unfortunately ad servers don't discriminate between truth and lies!
2) Matchdoctor (and sister Adultmatchdoctor) can work. I've pretty much exhausted all the humans in my area, but the site many people online at any given time, they have blogs and message boards, the profiles are fun to navigate, and I have made a few long term friends because of it. Adultmatchdoctor is notorious for Chinese spam. There's no way to stop it, just ignore/block/report/delete and go on with your life.
3) Localsex.com has been successful for me on three occasions. It's not big. It's paired with AFF but still a free site on its own. But lately the search results are slimming down and I think the site may be on its way out. Great for couples, not so much for a single guy.
4) somespamsite.com has been successful for me and my wife AS A COUPLE and we haven't had sex with any other couples but we sure are having fun talking to them and meeting new friends to hang out with IRL. A year's gold cost about $100 and we didn't add any extras (standard member contact, extra pictures, anything like that). A single guy would have more trouble trying to hook up.
5) Datehookup.com hasn't spammed or scammed me yet and there are enough local results and new signups to keep it interesting. The profiles are almost My Space like in format and they are customizable (if only for backgrounds, colors, fonts). They are one free site that DOES offer the feature to see who's viewed your profile. Messaging is free, they've never asked me to sign up for any premium services. Even with the name DateHookup, the site caters to those looking for relationships as opposed to "hookups".
6) Singlesnet.com is a site I am no longer on, but as a free member I could contact VIP members. I did meet one girl that way although it wasn't for a date, I found she had child care available in the area and we hired her for that and my wife and I went out and had fun LOL! I stopped using it because there is no place for married people on there. But I got a great babysitter!!!
7) My Space can be a way to hook up if you get around all the spam. The same can be said for
8) Face Book or
9) My Year Book. In fact, I have met more friends on MYB than any other site. They do have malware at times in the ad spaces, and you have to watch for fake profiles for cam sites, but the owners really are trying to keep it clean and safe and I admire them for that (really, I admired them both, they matched me, too!) I enjoy buying pictures of girls and I make a lot of their L$ currency that way as opposed to playing games or doing offers.
10) Red Light Center has a social site and I have met a few people on there who were worth talking to. It is adult oriented and they have a downloadable 3D chat client (don't bother unless you have a pretty fast computer, it was impossible to use on a P4 1.8 with Intel 845 video and 1GB of RAM, I have since upgraded to an Athlon 64 2650e, 3GB of RAM and nVidia 6150SE video and it works fairly well now)
Anything above without a .com on it is probably marked as spam on here so I spelled it out. I know My Space is for sure. Because it really is a strong spam site but you can work around it if you're crafty like me! | |
