Posted: 4/20/2008 12:28:09 AM | It depends on my mood at the time... and what I felt like seeing.. ie monuments, nature, temples, ruins.. etc..
But I think I have to be more general... any place that doesn't get hoards of tourists, that has 25-35C weather year round and is a tropical lush environment with nice beaches and great snorkling/diving and friendly locals... would be my favourite travel destination... | |

Chartering a bare-boat is easy and chep, split the cost with friends and have a blast sailing from island to island, taverna to taverna. If you don't like one place so much, 4 hours sailing later it's a totally different. The climate is perfect, the wind is always from the north, there are no tides or navigation hazards, great food, friendly people.... need I go on?
OR try Hong Kong..... you'll never see a place of more widely contrasting culture.... | |

Even though there has been some political trouble, the country is beautiful, the wildlife in the national parks are fantastic, and the people are very friendly. The best vacation I ever had, no question. | |

I'd like a ski chalet in Chamonix, Switzerland in winter, a villa in the Tuscan countryside in spring, a bungalow on the beach in the Bahamas in summer, a quaint cottage in New England in fall. Each have their own unique characteristics. | |

Favourite destination that I have been to is Switzerland - Its a beautiful country and if you love rafting, mountian biking, climbing and snowboarding; which I do :) it's perfect. | |

Posted: 3/4/2011 10:40:22 AM | I first went to The Gambia over 20 years ago with my ex and our 2 daughters. WE had a fabulous time. I went again 10 years ago with a partner, and loved it all over again. I went again last January, and it still had it's old magic and hadn't vastly changed from when I was first there 20years ago.
So as long as you can handle the pestering, as every local seems to think your game no matter how old you are, for sheer value, sunshine and friendliness, it's well worth a try. I always said I wouldn't go back to the same place, as my funds are limited,a nd I want to see as much has possible of the world, but the Gambia has a strange sort of pull for me. | |

Posted: 3/8/2011 8:36:02 PM | | I will be ending my winter here in Ocala,Florida, in a few days. It's the first time I've ever spent the winter away from the " Missouri heartland". I have been here in Florida since the first week of January. I've been in Florida before for a week or 10 days before but we usually just did the touristy things. Staying in Ocala,FL, which is in the central part of the state was so nice! It was close enough to get to most the other places in the state in an hour or so. I would say my favorite place to travel would be Florida in the winter. It's way too hot and humid in the summer for me though! | |

I would love to go to Africa, there's so many varied cultures from Morocco to Egypt to Ghana to South Africa. I'll stay away from Libya though. | |

Posted: 5/25/2011 6:04:29 PM | Just got back from April in Paris,& Marseilles. Excellent!!! Over my 63 years on this planet,I've been to over 20 countries & I loved them all. The USA,Europe,Asia, Central & South America,Canada,Africa,the islands,etc.
Every place was special to me.....yet imo, the most important destination, was to share that with the people special to you & you to them....
I still would love to go to Australia,Ireland, Norway, &Tel Avil on my bucket list. | |
