Coming to original question, although it is fact that it is very difficult to find a virgin here, and every body loses their in teenage, but still if some body says to me that she is virgin, I will not hesitate in beleiving her, as I know few very respectable young girls around me and I know that they are still virgins. If you are a man however, and still a virgin at the age of 30 like I am, you are seen as damaged goods and are the butt of jokes within society or your enclave of friends and family. Only if you let that happen.
I'm 33 and I am not the butt of anyone's jokes, mainly because I don't treat my virginity like it's something to be ashamed of. I've had my chances here and there to lose it, but decided to wait because I didn't want to have sex with someone I wasn't in a serious relationship with. | |

To a degree, yeah... but even then I get a lot of flack for it. There's stigma around it for girls too. People look at you like you're damaged goods... or a prude... or a child... you stop being all the other things you are- a student, a friend, etc., and all you are is this one label in some people's minds, and it stinks. | |

I had no problems with that and I cared for her very much however she'd frequently remind me how she wouldnt unless she felt it was right and loved that person which meant she never loved me and that broke my heart. It never mattered to me and I would have waited til we where geriatric, I loved being with her for her not for the sex but she didnt feel the same and felt our relationship wouldnt progress beyond really good friends. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you...
Different people have different ideas, and differing levels of maturity. If a girl is a virgin, all that tells me is that she hasn't had sex yet. The actual reasoning behind this will be different from girl to girl, and that is what it comes down to - understanding the girl in question...
There's nothing wrong with being a virgin, and I think you'll find most men wouldn't hold it against you - because there's nothing TO hold against you. Virginity isn't a sin.

From your comment it sounds to me as though they are bringing up the subject of sex before you're ready for it (the discussion I mean, not the act!). You see, having an open talk about sexual matters is an intimate act in and of itself, and requires either that the parties are very comfortable with one another, or that one of them is not taking it as seriously as they ought...
Respect for you, not so much for making the decision you have, but more for having the conviction to stick with it until a time of your own choosing...

I'd be upfront up the latter. If you're waiting until marriage make sure your partner knows...otherwise I doubt it'll work.
In regards to your second question - every case is different and I can only really speak to girls in my range (18-22) but if 1) She's attractive 2) She's not religious 3) She's says she's a virgin I give that statement about a 5% chance of being true. | |
