A couple of old carnival sideshow posters.
A couple of old burlesque posters.
A poster of the Devil sitting in a workshop.
And several shelves lined with devil and skeleton themed nick-nacks.

| The ART on your walls... and WHY? Posted: 11/7/2006 8:07:48 PM | | I try to collect as much art from my artist friends as possible, not only because I think it's generally beautiful, but also because I love that it's coming from someone I'm close to and know well, so I can connect with them through their work that I see in my house every day. | |

| The ART on your walls... and WHY? Posted: 11/8/2006 9:24:46 AM | My son asked me once why I didn't have a lot of family photos on display. I told him it was because as he grew he changed so much. So I tended to have just the most current photo on display.
I abhor photos so old that the fashions are out of style - the braces are on - the photo is yellowed....
I promised my son that when he grew up and left home, I would have loads of pics of him around the house, so that I could have him around me.
Now, I have a photo board by my desk, of recent family photos; mostly grandbaby photos in the display cabinet; formal portrait of my son's family and of the baby in my bedroom. I've lived up to the promise.

A couple or impressionism copies, and then I have my favorite wall where all my friends leave thoughts and tags of what ever they feel like, plus a whole bunch of random writings from myself. Yeah I love that walll and will be upset when I have to paint over it.

| The ART on your walls... and WHY? Posted: 11/9/2006 8:21:44 AM | | I have several paintings by Edmund Blair Leighton, "The Accolade", "Call to Arms", "A lady's Favor", and some statues including gargoyles and angels. I am facinated by Medieval romanticism, and chivalry and I would not consider myself "goth" but I like things that are a little on the dark side hence the gargoyles. | |

| The ART on your walls... and WHY? Posted: 11/9/2006 10:23:41 AM | It could have been worse. His parents could have forced him to be an engineer. Then his career would have been completely without art.
I am an engineer (aircraft) and an artist. My life is full of art, from the Lancaster Bomber I'm working on, to the painting of it that I'm going to sell to the RAF !

| The ART on your walls... and WHY? Posted: 11/21/2006 9:57:36 AM | I have an old photograph of a beach I found in an alley. It was framed, so I just brought it home and hung it up.
I've recently moved so I haven't had a chance to really do any decorating though, so aside from that and a picture of an Andy Warhol painting from a calendar that I framed, that's pretty much it.

| The ART on your walls... and WHY? Posted: 12/7/2006 1:58:12 PM | | Well done photographs of people, places and pets that mean something to me. Professionally framed. Antique prints of nature illustrations. Lots of pick up things, like rocks from the beach, sea glass, shells, etc... | |

| The ART on your walls... and WHY? Posted: 12/7/2006 10:43:51 PM | A copie of Warhol's Blue Marilyn. Love Marilyn, like Warhol too.
A framed Dali's Soft Watch. As a teenager I read a book on him explaning the history behind his art. I got hooked. The main room has three clocks, all post mordern...very basic. Is there a connection here?
Oversize painting of a gisha walking by a full moon. I painted this because I could not fine the right art to go on a certain wall.
An original painting on cardboard of a lady walking in a rain storm a friend had pin to his bedroom wall. He gave it to me when I stated that I like the energy it displayed.
20 odd masks. I found a glass one at a thrift shop 10 years back and this was followed by a few as gifts, and so on. I love masks.
A King Tut print on wood. (Note; all but the Dali are representative of the human form...and so are the masks)
Mirrors and more mirrors. I am very careful not to refect myself or visitors in them. They are only to trick the eye to think my place is much bigger.

Why: a mixed blood sister, a thinker, a feeler, a woman who triumphed over pain and tragedy, wrestled with the "self" as we all do, DEFINETELY alternative in a way that I totally groove with .
Totally cool. | |

| The ART on your walls... and WHY? Posted: 12/12/2006 6:43:46 AM | I have a print of a painting by Edvard Munch entitled "The Scream" because every time I look at it it evokes just those feelings in me, particularly a sense of being out of control and its opposite wanting to have order and continuity in my own. I love the swirling sky red effects in the background, the footbridge, the power of the river and of course the madman or woman in the foreground!!! what has gone wrong? | |

All the things I have seen and done so far. As well as what I have been touched and blessed by. Everything from walt disney characters, japanimation, to car murals, graffitti logo's, to ideas what just come my mind.

| The ART on your walls... and WHY? Posted: 12/13/2006 11:16:04 PM | Im such a geek. I have this big poster in my room with all these different versions of Megatron with the original one just floating in the air with this really evil smile like he's some sort of evil nighmare trying to come out of the picture to kill you and all the other versions of him are this nightmarish posse that look like their all going to beat on you or something.
It's scary in that nerdy conquer the universe way but theres so much grey, black, lime green, and purple that I can't help but love it.

| The ART on your walls... and WHY? Posted: 12/14/2006 8:17:51 PM | | since I just moved into a new place I haven't got any art up yet, but the plan is to have various sized prints of my photography displayed around the place... that and a few select pieces picked up during my travels | |

| The ART on your walls... and WHY? Posted: 12/22/2006 10:02:43 PM | | umm...really nothing right now, other then a few paintings of my own, and some other sculptures and things I have made in the past....I am one to paint directly on the walls, but not going to bother with that where I am at right now...but I have a few ideas when I get into the new place...for example....I want to place a small, simple table, something in a dark stained wood, right up to the wall, with a mirror above it (no frame), and then paint a tribal design on the table, mirror, and wall, so that the design lines up between the three, but use different colors on each....the last house I had, I had painted a large portrait on the ceiling in one room of an unknown woman, with one half done in all blue, and the other half done in all red....I had also painted a beach scene in the bathroom, meaning the whole room...every square inch of the room was part of a large mural of a beach....it just seemed to fit... | |

| The ART on your walls... and WHY? Posted: 12/25/2006 8:15:19 AM | As a lover of movies and theatre.........
In my living room I have two large framed posters from art show featuring both Tony Curtis and Anthony Quinns works and both are signed by the artist. Also a picture I found in a Goodwill store for only $6.00 (framed) of an full orchestra pit of a theatre with just a scant 1 1/2 inches of a ballet scene on stage (really love this piece). An Andrew Wyeth print "Christina's World" hangs over my tv to symbolize that life is what you make it. Basement has a few movie posters and alot of theatre playcards surrounding all the walls.
