Hey!! I think that would be a cool idea. I've got an '05 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 that's blue with silver flames and lots of chrome...

But anyhow, i think a cruise would be a cool idea! I don't have any buddies who have bikes (don't have anyone to ride on the back of mine either) to ride with so any chance to ride with some people would be great!

Seeing as I'm from Port Dover, I'm curious if any of you make a habit of heading down this way!!! No sense in waiting until Friday the 13th...

Sassy Last time I was in Dover was 2yrs ago. Fri 13th. The hwy into Dover was so packed we sat beside the hwy sign that reads Dover 13km. for 1hr. never moved. It was raining so bad that my starter button shorted out and my starter engaged while the bike was runnig . Need less to say it fried the electrics. Got into Dover cooled off the electrics push started the bike and went home. Never stepped into town. This was on my old Goldwing. Lesson learned here was get into Dover in the way early am to avoid line up's
. But I think a cruise into Dover other then the 13th would be a good idea. I hear that the town is really nice and that there is a lot to see. Maybe you can help brian out with a plan to visit there.

Hey Brian.....great idea! I own a black 01 Harley Fatboy. I live in Port Dover and this town is full of bikes every weekend,Usually at Tim Hortons. lol There is lots of bars and pubs in the area that have ride nights. We could just pick a bar and a night and arrange to meet there. Just a thought.

Hey All,

Lots of great ideas!

I've never had the chance to ride to Port Dover. I've been there before, but not on a bike.

Because I am new to the crusing scene, I don't know all the ins and out to planning. I've had some good feedback ,but could use some expertise. Someone to lead the cruise, someone to tail the ride, some suggestions around what to do while we are there, not let people get sidetracked. A set date reccomendation. Arrange a place to eat and enjoy the day. Rain Day maybe??

I would suggest we start near me and cruise up the mountain and work our way south.

Keep it coming ppl. I'm taking notice!!!

Regards,
Brian

This weekend is Fish Fest in Dover actually... so even more to see and do! Part of the street by the beach is blocked off with tents, a midway, a band on the beach, etc. It's going on today and tomorrow I believe but every weekend is pretty much a good weekend when you live in this neck of the woods! There's always a large congregation of bikers hanging passing through or hanging out down by the main corner. Definitely a worthwhile day trip I would say!

By the way, if you are coming from Hamilton, it's much easier now to get through on HWY 6 and you would only hit about one traffic light per town on the way down! (before Caledonia, Hagersville, Jarvis....then Dover!)

Wow not many women with motorbikes here. I feel out of place :-)

I own a Ninja 500. Most people look at me funny when they find out I ride a motorcycle and say I don't stike them as a women they would consider a biker babe. Go figure with the sterotypes. I have done several trips to Vermont, Virgina, Renfrew, Niagara. I enjoy riding the curvey roads and don't get out much on it with no one to ride with.

I'd be up for a ride

Thanks lass for the status tip and Port Dover, where I was waiting for Friday the 13th, and to visit my friend at a cottage nearby. Thanks for the feedback

Scorpio Your never out of place when your riding. I know of lots of female riders on this site but they have not found this post yet. I bet riding in Virginia and Vermont was a blast. They have real nice winding highways. We drive down to VA Beach every May to our Condo , and I keep saying I want to ride here one time.
OK so there is some interest into going to Dover here. Im up for it. So is any one up to the task of organizing it? Cause you know us Harley sheep we just follow the crowd BAAAA.

Well, It sounds like I really need to get my head out of my ass and really plan this huh?

All I ask is for a few volunteers to help with the ride and I'll do what I can to get it going.

Are we talking August? or shall we wait til September? Any suggestions ?

Okay - now I can post in this thread ... almost ...
A buddy at work has been doing some "spring cleaning" ... and last week he offered to sell me his old "second" bike - now all I have to do is rebuild the carb ...
Stay tuned, as the stomach turns ...

Hey everyone! Sounds like a great plan. Love riding anywhere..anyplace.. anytime. Nothing like it. Been riding all my life. I'd be more then happy to help out if someone wants to take the lead. I live south of Ottawa and if anybody even wants to get together for short rides.. it would be great.

A friend of mine owns a heritage classic softtail too harleylarry. What a beautiful ride! And a beautiful bike. I think I've been spoiled now experiencing the best. He wants to take a trip to florida on it for 10 days..and I've more than offered myself up as his navigator. So far no bites on my offer. Darn. Now THAT would be a trip!

I was riding a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 650R, until an SUV decided to do a U turn into me a couple of weeks ago and write my bike off and injure my leg... however, I should have a new bike within a week or two and will hopefully be able to shift by then, so I am game if you wait a little longer! :)

Unfortunately I don't have my own Ride as it was a choice between buying a house or buying a Harley. Stoopid being responsible and buying a house thing. I am up for being a passenger on someone's ride!!! Preferably female!!! Ok, exclusively female!!!

I'd be willing to help organize, and offer a few sugestions. There is a Ontario best roads site(i'll post it later, to bad its gone) Gta riders site has a lot of stuff. One suggestion off the bat is that if you want a broad spectrum of riders you need a 2 in 1 cruise with the parade people in one group and the loners just being giving meeting places, perhaps a poker run (more effort) Oh I have a CB 900 F2

I might be up for a ride and have room for a passenger. Haven't been riding much this year with a back injury (not m/c related), so will be nice to get out again soon.

ACHIC, hope you heal quickly. Always hate to hear of accidents and injuries. Been there, done that, don't want to repeat. That 650 Ninja looks like a great bike. Are you getting the same as a replacement?

Well Brian there you go there is a interest into going for a run. Let's get something going. E-mail me and we can work on it. ACHIC to bad about the wreck but the good news is you are still here. Was looking at your profile great looking bike are you going to get one of the same or try another type? Painter a OPP!!! let me guess he didn't see you beside him? Was he charged? A freind once told me there are two types of riders one's who have been down and one's who are going to go down. As riders we all have to keep our eyes open for the other person because they nevr see use until it's to late. Loud Pipes saves lives. I never thought that true until I put louder pipes on my bike and yes they do actually make people look to see where you are. On the sport bikes hinkle make a nice roar

k....think we can come up with a few things before aug 12th?

we need a place to meet...suggestions? what would be a central location? a tim horton's so we can have coffee/tea/breaky as we meet?
from there, we need a route....how many miles do we wanna ride? how often do we need to stop for gas/eats? who knows the 'pretty' roads in the area?
and where do we end? anyone have a place (and is willing to plan) for a bbq after? or shall we just end at a final bar and grill?

gimmee some input and i'll try to put something together........
