well...obviously, there doesn't seem to be much interest here....so i'm gonna try and put things together and see if y'all are interested then.....

we could start at 10 am at the tim horton's on highway 24 heading west out of cambridge...head east on some back roads i know....around guelph, out to the forks of the credit and stop at the badlands (we call the moon) for a break.....from there we could do grand valley and maybe stop in arthur at the bar and head back to cambridge from there.....sound like a plan?

hope there's some interest here.....let your friends know...

Forks is not the place I would want to go. Too many yahoos on the weekends especially. Sure it's nice if you've never seen it, but there are lots of nice roads without having to be with hundreds of road racer wannabeees.

as for other rides....buzz & tom's poker run is coming up on the 26th of august starting in brucedale, ending in belwood...tickets in guelph at R&R custom cycle or vtwin in brucedale.

I'm depressed now. Is there nobody within 100 miles of the Sault up for a ride? Am I the only one here? Like i said earlier in this thread, I actually do have some Honda riders that I do a weekly run with, and another guy with a Harley something or other (the one around 1500 cc), BUT, I would really like to run with the Fish!

Hmm.. I think a little to far to come from the Ottawa area. If anybody would like to arrange a ride originating say from the Kingston or Bellville area I'd be in.. That would be about half way between Ottawa and Toronto and anybody in the Ottawa, Kingston, Toronto area could still get to. Anyways ..if you guys get this ride going .. have a great time. . I will miss going.

afternoon of12 of Aug works soso for me 13 th,19th would be better. we could go north out of belfountain then through Hipoint,Hockly,Mono centre,Terra Nova,Honeywood even Creemore then back (see the wind farm)nice mix of straight and curved, alot of riding along the Escarpment, beautiful views lots of places to stop 3-4hour ride (depending )

Another thought would be a group ride to another POF event maybe? bring a spare helmet,Free rides when there for the curious?

Hey What Happened to Port Dover ?

chillywilly21, I will drop you a quick note with contact information. We can work out the details.

Based on what I've see here... we should set something up in August, probably later in the month, location is still up in the air a bit.

We can arrange a meeting place, establish a route, a couple of checkpoints for pit-stops, a destination within the town we wind up in to have dinner.

There will most likely be a cost attributed to this ride. Meaning, you should have a minimum amount of bucks on ya for food, gas and possibly parking.

More details to come, of course.

I would also suggest that any volunteers come forward to help out the ride (leaders, tail team). WE will send out in advance some information around proper riding procedure and safetly information, reccomended gear.

What about setting up a combined ride and camping trip to somewhere like Algonquin Park. Great roads. Lots to see and do.

I just started riding this year. Not sure if I'm up to a group trip yet but maybe by the end of August might be ok.. Been trying to find some people to ride with in my area. So if anyone is around the Brampton area please contact me if you want to hook up for a scoot one Sat or Sunday or even during the week at night.

I've got a '01 Suzuki bandit in Kingston. I've got about 15k on it so far this summer. I'd say my longest ride has been 14 hrs, with only a bit of discomfort in my right elbow...nothing a throttle lock wouldn't fix.

I'm game for a ride nearby, as long as it isn't on a weekend when I have my kids. This is my first summer without a regular group ride, usually just me and one buddy go for short trips, by short I mean less than an hour.

I'd be interested in that ride , but I live in a Northern Ontario city . Just joined hardily a week or so ago . I sometimes ride to the Sault as I have family there . I am here to meet Lady friends to ride with and have wrote to a few only to find that they read my messages but don't write back . I'm just A Gentleman looking to share the freedom of the open road with a Lady , thats all . But that ride sounds like a great idea to meet some good members who ride from this site .

Been looking at them, but will probably stick with my people-powered two-wheeler.

However, funny story --

Last night at 6 (on my way home) I was riding my bike (doing a decent clip into a headwind on Richmond Rd. in Ottawa) when a girl on a small-bore bike passed me.

I noteced -- and maybe she did too because she pulled over a few hundred yards ahead. Anyway, me (dufus) rode right by without doing the chivalrous thing. As soon as I passed she started out again and though I chased (losing 5 lbs in the process) I was never able to catch up (despite traffic) to redeem myself for not stopping.

Anyway if she's here -- maybe she will see this.

I'd like to ride her ... bike :-)

Damn. I haven't been on here in a little while and I just noticed this thread.

Maybe we could do a ride to a big POF party. Somewhere in the Golden Horseshoe. We could meet up early ride all day then head to the party and meet up with up with others at a POF event.......Just a thought.

Oh yeah....2005 Yamaha YZF R1.

Well All,

I have tried to get in touch with someone to help me with a ride. I think I"m going to throw in the towel. There are so many liabilities to planning a motorcycle cruise, don't want to open myself up to the possibility of being sued because someone decided to have too many at a bar or someone get hurt. I would love to have planned a ride, but I don't want trouble in exchange.

If I had more experience with cruises, perhaps it would be different, so, I"m just gonna have to let it be.

As for riding to a POF event, keep me posted and I'll join in.
