| internet dates from Hell Posted: 3/4/2007 7:15:19 PM | My first couple of internet dates were really scary! Scary enough for me to go out and buy some protection. I now carry a stun gun powered with 500,000 volts! Whenever I know I am going to be out late or with someone I barely know, "SPARKY" comes along with me! If a guy gets agressive with me now, I ask them to stop and they usually do. Sometimes the guys ask "What would you have done to stop me?". Or they say "you couldn't have stopped me" yeah right! They have no clue what I could have done to them. I simply smirk and say you have no f_ckin clue do you! | |

| internet dates from Hell Posted: 3/11/2007 11:44:12 AM | | I was a Verizon Wireless tech and the only way I know ,to date, to block messages is to block them ALL. There are several newer phones that will block specific numbers, or so I hear, but at the moment you have to put a block on all messages to accomplish this. | |

| internet dates from Hell Posted: 7/17/2007 2:15:44 PM | Never go to a mans apartment when you barely know him! That should go unsaid. There are too many weirdos out there, and unless you are a karate expert or know a lot of self defense, you should not take chances like that. Please check out my blog at http://datingonlinefun.blogspot.com. I have a little article in there about safe dating. | |

| internet dates from Hell Posted: 7/19/2007 6:06:21 PM | Hey, I didn't know there were dates from hell. You mean guys show up with fired up horns of plenty, promising the moon with their devilish grins, raising hell with damnable tunes and kissing your infernal regions as they woo you with red pitch forks?
Why am I always the last to know.

| internet dates from Hell Posted: 7/19/2007 7:03:42 PM | Hi! I'm older than you & I hope wiser from life. Your first mistake was right in the beginning. I see you are a very attractive woman (& seem very nice too). Why couldn't he have paid for your drink? He began lying to you from the start about his personal history & his personal life was a shambles. Right away you had red flags that said drop him. You deserve better. Never let low self esteem make you settle for less than what you deserve & need. This guy was & is a dope, a failure & a creep. Don't worry about hurting his feelings. He doesn't have any. I would just completely ignore him & believe me, he will go away . Those little voices inside you were telling you things from the beginning but you made excuses because of your own neediness. Perfectly understandable. Learn from it & move on. Good luck & take care. | |

What you CAN do is change your voice mail to say that you are being harassed and no longer accept calls with blocked IDs, to leave a message. The people who you WANT to talk to won't block their IDs. Next, get a restraining order for no contact (due to harassment), and then save any voice messages plus your cell phone bills showing date/time. I had to do this, and although it took a while, it worked. Keep the police involved. And, if the OP is still out there (this is an OLD thread), I hope you have been more cautious. (I am sure you have been... - scary!)

| internet dates from Hell Posted: 7/23/2007 7:32:45 PM | I met a guy from another website and hit it off really well, but he became really clingy and smothering and when I chose not to see him anymore, his text messages and voice mails were really really nasty. Yes, I could block him from contacting me on that website, but when I called Verizon to find out about blocking him from calling my cell or texting me, I was told there was nothing they could do. Basically told me to just ignore him.
If someone knows how to block someone from calling your cell phone, please tell me just in case this happens again.
