| Girls, would you mind if your guy carried a concealed weapon? Posted: 7/9/2006 9:39:34 PM | "Concealed means CONCEALED!" I agree 100%. The best weapon is the one they don't know your carrying until your fully commited to using it and literally seconds away from using it against them if need be.
There is no need to even tell her you have the firearm. I'd think it would be pretty hard to keep the fact you carry concealed from a girlfriend for very long...
Who knows, once she knows your carrying her mouth might get even bigger still...

Posted: 7/9/2006 9:48:13 PM | | I'd rather remove myself from an unpleasant situation then chance being beaten to a pulp.As for him carrying a gun, unless I start dating a cop(unlikely) the answer is no.A weapon can be turned against you.Besides would you really want to kill someone because the dog got to close to your gf.Enough killing going on already.

Posted: 7/9/2006 9:52:35 PM | I don't believe in weapons because they cause too much danger and there have been so many accidents that could of been stopped because of stupid actions...what's the point? so people can kill each other,no I don't think so. Only if your a cop

| Girls, would you mind if your guy carried a concealed weapon? Posted: 7/9/2006 10:18:48 PM | | Ok my question to you would be do you guy's hang out in such places that you feel you need to carrya weapon? If so then I would think about changing where I hang out if you fear for the element and what they may do when your gf spouts her mouth...Second I don't agree with anyone carrying a weapon at all...violence never solves anything but you just can't take all weapons off the street...So, carry somethinga litte less illegal like spray or somethin..at least you can't go to jail for peppering somebody but you can go to jail for murder. And wheather you have a license or not accidents happen and you could shoot some totally innocent person walking by...Just ask yourself is it totally worth the consequinces? And talk to yer girl about possibly trying to bite her tongue if you feel it may get you into trouble you may not be able to handle.... | |

Anyway, pro-gun US citizen here. Even so, I have to echo Sticky's sentiments above. What kind of places are you hanging in?!! I see some huge red flags here: a) seems like your searching for "street cred, dawg" b) your girl seems like more of the problem than anything else. Some diplomacy would be a good idea. If she is too blunt with some dangerous looking types, you'll probably have to take them aside and smooth things over with them for everyone's sake. Hopefully your girl won't mind you making apologies for her being naive.
As Chuck Norris once said in a deoderant commercial, "The best defense is not to offend."

| Girls, would you mind if your guy carried a concealed weapon? Posted: 7/9/2006 10:39:02 PM | On occasion I have had a date take a gun along. The only time there was a problem was when he put it in the glove compartment of my car, and we both forgot about it. I ran across it a week later. He had a BIG problem getting me to give it back to him! | |

Only if your a cop kinda off topic but... No, killing people is not the point of carrying a firearm. If your an otherwise law abiding citizen *defending yourself* (as well as others) is the point. Not killing, nor making a citizen arrest or some horseshit like that but defending yourself and others from being assaulted.
Most of the time a cop draws his gun a shot isn't actually fired. Many a gun carrying crime victim can tell you the attack / rape / robbery etc. that was attempted against them ended abruptly without a shot being fired. Dying right here right now is a choice few make when drawn down on with a gun. Sometimes it's an escalation and you'll have to shoot them asap, so be it. Many other times it de-escalates the situation very effectively on your terms.
I don't see why a cop should have more authority to wield a firearm vs. a law abiding citizen that's as competent as they are in dealing with a situation when suddenly confronted?
Should a law abiding ex-cop be allowed to still carry or are they suddenly less competent to do so because they retired or quit? Do Military MP's suddenly become less competent to wield a firearm after they're discharged from service? etc. etc. etc.
That one went over my head, Indy!!
Are you gonna use that weapon on me, nice sir??? LMFAO!!!! Ummmm i think what I said went over my head too! but rereading it i can read some funny stuff into it... omg!
