| Tattoos Posted: 8/13/2007 8:19:12 PM | I have.. ummmm 28 Tatts now.... My 29th starts on Thursday, booked a full day to outline a tree of life on my back , then i will rebook another day in the fall . Many people attempt to judge me, for my tats, metal and dreads. I could honestly care less. I love them, they are a reflection of who i am, and my path in life, and they suit me. I own a business and run a family, dont drink or do drugs. All on my own to boot.
Screw what others think, i tend to do as i wish anyways. I do with my body, what makes ME happy. I choose to NOT let others judgements affect me or my creative expression. Blessings~ ~Autumn

| Tattoos Posted: 8/16/2007 3:45:09 PM | | Honestly dude it totally depends on what you want in a tattoo...I like all the newtribe artists. My own personal artist is dave from that shop. But there's a guy @ another shop who's amazing. And I've heard the guys @ king of fools are top notch. www.tattoos.com is a handy site if you want to look up shops in the city. | |

| Tattoos Posted: 8/16/2007 4:13:43 PM | In the GTA, the best i have seen is Lynk of Lighthouse Tattoos in Mississauaga (on Lakeshore).
Great guy, extremely talented, and well connected.
He was with Artistic Impressions (also on Lakeshore) but left there and opened up his own shop. He also brings in "guest" artists from around North America to work in his shop as well.

| Tattoos Posted: 8/17/2007 5:24:59 AM | I have a tattoo of a scissor tail bird, on my forearm, and theres multiple reasons for me having it, and it being at the spot where it is, 1, My father and uncle have it, So it's a tradition. 2, Where i come from, this bird is said to come with spring and it brings good luck, and it is bad luck to kill said, bird. 3, It's a seafarers tattoo, and i grew up, up and around boats, i have saltwater in my blood, getting the tattoo was a rite of passage into manhood. 4, It reminds me of my homeland, 5, It reminds me of my duties to my family.
My uncle, and father have it around their left wrists, but they've often expressed regret for putting it there, so i put it higher up, i think it looks better on the forearm+ i can cover it with a long sleeve shirt, for interviews and serious social gatherings. That being said, I'm very proud of my tattoo, and i always show it.

| Tattoos Posted: 8/19/2007 9:23:33 AM | | I got my first tattoo at 40. It was meant to shock everyone including me that steriotyped people who get them. The least painful tattoos I had done were the two that I had done on my upper chest area. I have a rosebud on my right upper chest and a unicorn on my left upper chest area. I can hide them or show them if I want to. I have a black lacey heart on my right wrist and that one was excrutiatingly painful! The ones I had done on my outer calf area, a chineese symbol for happiness and a climbing vine with 3 red hearts for my children, were painful as well. Pain is relative term, after having 3 large babies naturally no meds a tattoo is nothing LOL Beware they are addictive. Rose | |

| Tattoos Posted: 8/19/2007 3:06:50 PM | | I'm VERY fair skinned. I get sunburns extraordinarily easily. Whenever people ask me if my ink hurt i say yes. Then I ask them if they can handle a sunburn. IMO tattoos hurt just as much as a 1st-2nd degree sunburn. The outline stings and the filler burns. About half an hour into my last (the biggest and most complex one) i just went numb. Woohoo. Totally addictive...but i'm taking a breather from them for now. The pain is different for everyone tho. | |

| Tattoos Posted: 8/25/2007 9:18:19 AM | I have three tats. A scorpion on my right bicep, a tribal dragon on my inner left arm and a barcode on my neck. I started off thinking I was only going to get a few strategically placed tattoos but I am now leaning toward a full body suit.
Knowing that tats are permanent, I have taken my time deciding what I wanted and made sure they are relevant to me. The only thing I will never have inked on my body is a friends, lovers or wife's name.

| Tattoos Posted: 8/25/2007 5:13:56 PM | I have a tattoo but I have to admit that I kind of regret it now. I profess to having an early mid-life crisis and I got one on my 30th birthday without having given it alot of thought before hand. Of course, my tattoo covered friend urged me on. I have an image on my left upper arm of the earth inside a larger sun. It's mainly black ink with the earth having a little bit of blue on it. It is visible if I wear anything with short sleeves. If I had thought about it more, I would have put it in a more discrete place. I also would have given the image more thought. I mean, it's on there for life so it better be something you REALLY love. I'm actually not the tattoo type. One is enough for me, but I know some people who love them and claim they are outright addictive! | |

| Tattoos Posted: 9/7/2007 4:53:15 PM | Hey there i never thought i would get a tatoo but at age 40 I got a tigger on my left shoulder in honour of a lady that died of cystic fibroses and then a year later got one of Scooby Doo on my right shoulder with my name and my 5 children's names too. I never ever thought I would get a tatoo but i have now and someday I want to put my grandchildren's name on me too but dont know the when of that. I consider tatoos an art and as long as you are not totally covered with them I think it is fine. Jannie | |

| Tattoos Posted: 10/16/2007 4:17:49 AM | Get what you want. I worked at a shop and and one of the worst things you can do is get a tattoo based on other peoples views and tastes. You'll reger it forever, and its realy painful and expensive to remove. Lower back tattoos are typically tribal, vines, flowers, script writing, or some sort of v shaped design. Its a lare area so you can go with a bigger-medium design and it wont look overpowering on your body.... Bring in some of your ideas and get an artist to draw somethin up for you. Cut things out from magazines, print things off the net...people would bring in everything. But its the best way to fully customise it, make it your own. Tattoos off the wall are sp typical. | |

| Tattoos Posted: 11/11/2007 10:08:42 PM | I love ink. Everyone has their own reasons for getting it. Mine means something to me. Maybe only to me but its all mine.
Ink is always a bonus. | |

| Tattoos Posted: 11/12/2007 8:07:38 AM | Ink for teh win.
I love it when women have full sleeves - for me it just makes them hotter!
I'm mainly attracted to women with large pieces done. The smaller ones just don't speak to me.
I've got an unfinished sleeve on my left arm, some on my chest, back, etc. Eventually I hope to have my entire torso done.

| Tattoos Posted: 11/21/2007 1:06:49 AM | I'm not a tattoo friendly person :) But... if I would ever change my mind, I would have a Phoenix Bird. That symbolizes me. | |

| Tattoos Posted: 12/4/2007 3:23:13 AM | | tats r addictive though, i had four but i just got my fifth. it took me four months to draw a design up that i wanted to stick with. it is a good idea to do research on designs, and dont forget if you see a design that u somewhat like either draw or print it out, the artist(s) at the shop can customize it just like vintage said. i brought my drawing in and then they helped me with the font style but the general tat stayed the same. all my tats mean something to me as well, please, please dont just get a tat because your friend got you drunk or peer-pressure or whatever make it mean something and you will be never regret it. | |
