| Tattoos Posted: 8/22/2006 7:11:57 PM | Does anybody know a web site to find a reputable artist by geopgraphic location? I'v tried google, but get weird stuff thar doesn't really help. My daughter and I want to go together. Out of town trip is okay too. I want a bike logo for STAR motorcycles on a shoulder, she wants something on her ankle. Nothing like father-daughter bonding at the tatoo shop, I always say! | |

| Tattoos Posted: 8/22/2006 11:32:08 PM | I have a tattoo on my left shoulder. It is a red rose (which is covering up an old homemade tattoo) that branches off to a yellow rose. I might have a small ladybug put near it soon.
I am thinking of getting some stars and some ants but not sure where to put them yet.

| Tattoos Posted: 8/23/2006 4:15:40 PM | I have 3 tattoos, rose on my right arm, mother and baby unicorn on my left arm, and a dolphine with the chinease symbol for friends on my left ankle( My best friend and I got the same one on the same ankle when i moved from BC). Just some advice to women thinking of getting one..... Put it in a place that that can be hidden if you wish to hide it, not on your arms doesnt look so great when u put on something nice and sleeveless. I got the ones on my arms when I was very young and now I sooooo regret it .. not so much the tattoos but the place I decided to put them. The one on my ankle though I Love. Rememeber your flesh isnt always gonna be young and tight !! Think about how its gonna look in years to come. Choose wisely this art work will be permanant and be with you a long long long time. | |

| Tattoos Posted: 8/23/2006 4:26:30 PM | | This is for those women out there who still plan to have children. I hear a tat in the wrong spot will prevent you from having an epiderral, when the time comes! | |
|
| Tattoos Posted: 8/23/2006 4:40:28 PM | It's true, you cannot get an epidural if it is in the way when the time comes.
People feel the need to remind me all the time that I won't be able to have one (but really, a good tattoo artist should make you aware of this). However, there are some women out there (like me) who don't plan on having an epidural (they're not really that good for you or the baby anyway).

Yep, he did mine too, back in 1997. I send everyone to Waycool!! And I'll be seeing him soon for my next. He's great at drawing out your idea, and putting it on your skin. My advice, don't just pick one off the wall, be creative, and make it your own!
|
| Tattoos Posted: 8/24/2006 3:13:33 PM | Are we talking about Waycool in Oakville?
I go to Perfect Image in London, and my artist is perfectly suited to me - she can do no wrong!
|
| Tattoos Posted: 8/24/2006 3:23:59 PM | | Apparently there is a cool(Tattoo Artist) chick at wild ink in scarborough and one in downtown port hope!! | |
|
| Tattoos Posted: 8/24/2006 3:32:27 PM | My first two were done by a woman in London, the third was done in Regina (my son's friend was an apprentice and it was an easy one), the last two at Blue Dragon in London. I liked the experience with the woman better because she chatted while she worked. The fellas seem to concentrate too hard. Bless those multi-tasking genes

| Tattoos Posted: 8/24/2006 3:37:46 PM | I have two tats one on my upper arm and one on my lower back... Believe it or not the one on my arm (heart) hurt like a SOB.... The one on my back was okay until he got to the shading. I want to get another one soon. Just not sure where I want it. My Bestfriend has one around her belly button and it looks awesome.. | |

| Tattoos Posted: 8/24/2006 3:59:39 PM | Number 1 rule dont rush it take your time in finding an artist you are comfortable with get references and call them ask if you can watch them put one on someone.
Choose carfully after all it will be with you the rest of your life watch Miami Ink they have some good tips on there quite often
I did read bluedew say that a lot if the hurt does come from the touch of the artist. One of the artist I use has a very light touch and the colors and depth are great there are a lot of artist that still feel that they have to apply a lot of presure to get the deep colors to stay. When healed if you are not happy with the depth of your colors most artist will do one free touch up another thing to add on your question list whitch is very important ask questions lots of them if the artist does not want to answer them you dont want them doing your tattoo.
Hope all goes well and you get a piece that you love
